Part-Time Viking
PS3- Hands down, Uncharted has impressed me above and beyond what I expected of it, the game is a blend of different game types and uses it flawlessly. The story is very Indiana Jones-esq and it does nothing but help make the game a new level of great.

PSP- Silent Hill Origins is the best PSP games I've played this year largely because it gives me hope of Silent Hill V actually being good. The solid gameplay and story help too.

Xbox 360- Mass Effect is easily the best exclusive for the 360, the visual short comings and the poor driving can easily be ignored.

Wii- I know it's an remake of a game, but Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is everything I want from a game on the Wii, and tragically, it's part of the absolute minority of those titles.

DS- No opinion here.

PS2- I'm surprised that the gentleman from earlier didn't mention this, but God of War II, the PS2's swan song was damn good.

Other- Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock are two worth mentioning games that are excellent titles that are worth looking into on any console or computer they are on.

Best game this year in my book? Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

I'm sorry, did God of War II come out this year? For some reason, I'd convinced myself it came out last year and, honestly, I didn't care enough about the game to do any actual research into it. Apparently, Persona 3 came out this year too and some people liked it. Truthfully, I haven't touched or looked at a PS2 since the next-gen systems came out... Fine I'll go change it.

Yeah, a few notable PS2 games have rolled out, but they are easily over looked.

PS3

Winner - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: Let's face it, when respected video game critics say things like "this is the best-looking next-generation video game we've seen so far on any platform", you know that whatever game they're talking about is going to be in the running for GOTY. Throw in some of the most fun gunplay and brawling ever with a cast so interesting it'll make your friends look like mannequins, and you've almost got a sure winner. Now if only the competition weren't so stiff...

Runner up - Heavenly Sword: If anybody has yet to experience this game first hand, you should try and change that if you ever have a chance. This is one of those few gems that require a personal experience. You can't get an idea for how it plays just by looking. It's short, which is probably what will keep it out of the running, but it's some of the best 6-8 hours you'll find on any console.

Wii
Winner - Metroid Prime 3: Unlike some Wii games that perhaps have an excess of blubbery stereotyped Italian plumber in them, this title actually lives up to it's hype, promises, and it's critical acclaim. Nintendo managed to prove to me that they can still make a great video game, despite the Wiimote, with this title. Do yourself a favor and skip Stupid Mario's Acid Trip 5 and just play this game.

Runner up - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn: I like this game alot more than I like MP3. But I can also recognize when a game doesn't have a broad enough appeal to really be in the running for GOTY. Alas, my poor Fire Emblem, the majority of the Gaming Market doesn't really care for your brilliantly board-game-esque style of gameplay and your panache for creating characters that I can actually give a crap about. But if you're reading this (and you are, oh yes, you are) then let me tell you one thing: This Is One Of The Best Games Available On Any Console Right Now. Do yourself a favor, and at least try it out.

360
Winner - Mass Effect: From what I have seen of this game, it looks like it may just be the greatest video game of all time. I've heard whispers that the main campaign story is a bit short, but this isn't the kind of game that you only follow the story. This is a game for people who want to discover. And as gamers, I think we all have a little bit of that in us. I don't know how, but I cannot wait for the day that I can sit down and really sink my teeth into this title.

Runner up - Eternal Sonata: Not technically exclusive, but if I bought a 360 today, this game would grace my shelves before I bought Halo 3. A colorful RPG with a fast-paced battle system that's multiplayer? Yeah, I'm sold.

DS
Winner - Nothing: I'm not really in a position to judge DS games. Mostly because I would rather staple my foot to my face than use a stylus to play anything. Beyond this fact, I have no opinion on any of the games on this system.

Runner up - Really Nothing: Did I mention that you can get a DS in pink? How gay.

PSP
Winner - Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions: Not only does this get Game of the Year for ALL SYSTEMS from me, but it also gets the Greatest Game Of All Time award. I am a fanatic about this game. I've easily logged over 1000 hours of game time into the PS1 original, and now this new version offers me new job classes and multiplayer opportunities!? I'm seriously in heaven.

Runner up - Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron: While I am tempted to deduct major points for the use of the word "squadron" YET AGAIN in the title of a Star Wars game, four words make up for any shortcoming this game may have: "Wookie with jet pack." You know you want to see it for yourself. Come on. Just admit it. It makes it easier.

PC
Winner - Supreme Commander: Eh? What's that you say? This game is the spiritual successor to the underappreciated, superlative RTS game Total Annihilation? Well, that's all I need to know. This game is war at it's finest. If you don't believe that "badass moments" can occur in RTS titles, this game will make you a believer.

Runner up - An Incredible Amount of Nothing: While PC gaming may not be as gay as the DS, it is far stupider. At least the DS is affordable. When I read elitist PC otakus posting their braindead nonsense all over the internet about how great PC gaming is, I want to punch their money-waisting faces out through the backs of their severely empty skulls. Hmmm, a $250 Wii? Or a $3000 PC that might be able to handle Supreme Commander? I don't know why the computer companies just don't shoot you dead right when you're about to pay that much for gaming, thus breeding stupidity out of the human race altogether.

Thanks Arvis.

Im actually going to buy that Metallic Rose DS now.

Also, Im going to spend $10000 on a PC that probably won't run Crysis right out of the box.

Metroid Prime 3 was...a disappointment for me. It was too easy, I rather take Super Mario Galaxy because it's the true successor of Mario 64. Sunshine sucked a** so much it wasn't funny. Mario Galaxy brings platforming glory once again to Nintendo, while Prime 3 collects dust because it was simply too easy and not enough back tracking.

Xbox 360:
Winner=Mass Effect: This game could easily be a serious contender for game of the year. It has a combination of great graphics, story, characters, and voice-overs. The controls are not perfect, but they are not bad either, and the game has no multi-player. But these are very small problems and all if the good things over way the bad.

Runner up=Halo3: Halo2 was the game of the year in 2004, but now halo3 has to run against a ton of other great games. Halo 3 does look very good, but Mass Effect looks better, Halo 3 has a good story, but Mass Effect has a better one. Halo3 has some memorable characters, but Mass Effect has even more memorable characters. The only thing that Halo3 has going for it is its very good multi player. So you can see why it is very hard for Halo 3 to compete.

PC:
Winner=Crysis: This game could easily be a serious contender for game of the year. This game could even be the best game ever made. This game has the best graphics overall, some unique game-play, intelligent enemies, and good story. The only problems with this game is that is has no multi-player, and you need an expensive computer in order to play at highest settings.

Runner up=Unreal Tournament 3: Don't get confused with UT2003, UT3 is a much better game. This game improves everything from the last version and still keeps the same feel of the original. The guns are very similar the the others, but the vehicles are completely redone, and they added a hover board to make it easer to far places. UT3 is mostly a multi-player game, which means that its single player is a bit dull.

Wii:
Winner=Super Mario Galaxy: As far as Nintendo goes, Mario always wins. This game is one the best looking games on the Wii, and has some of the best controls. The level design is very creative and colorful. but this game does have some problems, Nintendo plays it same to make this game play very similar to mario 64 and sunshine, this game has no multi-player, and no voice-overs. This game also does not have a very good story, but mario games don't normally have good stories anyway. Besides its flaws, it is a fin easy to pick up and play game.

Runner up=Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: I can easely say this this game is the best Metroid game ever. This game has a combination of easy to pull off platforming, good story, good graphics, easy to use map system, good voice overs, and great looking environments. The only problems with this game is that is does not have multi-player, you can might not know where you need to go, a ton a backtracking, and it take a long time to get from one place to another on foot. Overall, its a good game.

PS3:
Winner=Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: This is a unique game from the makers of Jak and Daxter. This game could easily be a serious contender for game of the year. This game has a unique story, good game play, memorable characters, great graphics, great voice overs, and plays fluidly. The problems are that it loads slowly, and no multi-player.

Runner up=Warhawk: This game is one if the greatest multi-player games to come out for the PS3. This game has great graphics, good multi-player, great controls, and can be downloaded from the PS3 network. Some problems are that is has no single player, no story, long load times, and no unique characters.

DS:
Winner=The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: Since Mario didn't appear in any great games on the DS this year, but Link did. The good things about this game is that it has good game play, nice environments, memorable characters, almost no load times, and easy to pickup and play on the go. The problems are bad graphics, not original story, simple puzzles, similar enemies to older versions, and no multi-player.

Runner up=Pokemon Diamond/Perl: Pokemon has been around for a long time, and it has lost its charm over the years, but now it has make a comeback with its new game. This game has new pokemon, Wi-Fi multi-player, easy to pickup and play on the go, almost no load times, new towns, new characters, and improved graphics. The problems are that it still has bad graphics, re used battle and pokemon sounds, very similar story, have to buy both games in order to catch all of the pokemon.

PSP:
Winner=Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions: This is clearly the best RPG for the PSP. This game has Wi-Fi multi-player, great story, easy to pickup and play on the go, good controls, and lots of characters to control and customize, long game. The problems are that the graphics could be much better, unbalanced multi-player, very hard.

Runner up=Star Wars Battlefront: This game is one of the best TPS on the PSP. This game has Wi-Fi multi-player, customize you character, a good single player campaign, and this is a great sequel. The problems with this game is that its controls are awkward, stupid AI, and the single player is to short and easy.

To be honest Shiek I think it was normal mode.

But still this normal mode wasn't as hard as MP2 normal mode.

I did play someone else's file on hard mode and I still found it easy.

Thank you Viking for that idea.

Daxel Said this:

PSP
Can't really say. I dont have one. If I have to guess, is Crisis Core out yet?
Runner Up: Same, seeing as I dont have one, and haven't played one in over a year.

Arvis said this:

Similarities: They were all responses to handhelds that they didn't have therefore couldn't answer.

Differences: Tango and Daxel were able to say that they can't answer that/didn't say anything bad about it. Arvis ignoring the purpose of my EDIT decided to say why and how much he hates DS instead of just saying he's in no position to name games from it/isn't familiar with it to name games. Read the responses for yourself. It wasn't called for.
