Wander's heart soared and thoughts flooded his mind that were more emotion than words. She was staying. With him. Together. "Kimmie... Kimmie..." All he could do was repeat the name and return her affections, licking at her cheek and turning his eyes back up to meet hers. If only he had noticed Kimmiko's feelings earlier, or if only he had noticed his own. But they had finally found them and finally found each other.
"I'll stay with you forever."

She crooned soft resting her brow against his , her tail wagging gently as she whispered softly " I love you, I love you, I love you..." she punctured each word with a little lick on his muzzle as she snuggled against him for the first time in a long time her heart light and filled with joy. When he said he would stay forever she gave a soft laugh " you had best my love, I would hate to have to maim you for breaking my heart."

Wander managed to calm himself to let out a small chuckle. "Maim me? I thank you that you haven't done it already, at least..." He looked down at where she was snuggled against him and his smile grew. "Kimmie..." He had meant to say something else but ended up with her name again. It was just as well he figured while he wound his tail around her feet. It probably communicated what he wanted to know more than his words could have.
"Kimmie..."

Her gaze was full of love and warmth as she looked up at him. Now that he knew...he would recognize that look. She had gazed at him like that often when she thought he wasn't looking. A soft sigh slipped from her muzzle as she laid her head back on his shoulder, nuzzling against his neck mummering wordlessly in love and contentment.
"I never thought I could be this happy..."

Wander's head came to rest atop Kimmiko's and his eyes slid shut with contentment. "I never thought... I'd meet someone like you. And I definitely never thought that taking care of a bunch of stray pups would end this way." He laughed a little at that. "Though it's strange to think of this as a result..." A smile was fixed on Wander's face, wider and more emotional than his usual reserved expressions.

That startled a laugh from her as she leaned into his body " It is funny how life changes isn't it? " Her smile was soft and tender as she opened her eyes again to watch the sunrise over the horizon.
"I can't promise I will never annoy you again..and there will probably be times you will wish you had nudged me into the river as pup." her voice filled with laughter remembering how she use to annoy him with her endless questions of why. " But for better or worse, as long as I live, you will never be alone again."

"And neither will you." He pressed his cheek against hers to join in watching the first light start to color the sky. "And as long as I'll live, I'll protect you. And... I won't throw you into any rivers." Laughter bubbled from his throat and he curled his tail tighter about Kimmiko. "Though I'd rather you throw me into a river if you're angry with me rather than get upset..."

"Ah but I swim better than you love." She chuckled nuzzling against his jaw again. " You tend to flail about and make such a rukus." Her nose wrinkled in amusement as she teased him, a lightness in her words that now that it had returned...he would notice had been missing for a while.

"Well it's hard to swim in all my gear..." Wander cast a disgruntled eye over his tabbard and sheathed sword. "It gets heavy and tangled. Without it I can swim just fine." The mood seemed to have shifted from extremely emotional to something softer. It was a little relieving to be off that emotional swing. Now he could take more time, savor more of the moment... calm down. The frantic tension was taking it's time to smooth out but it was leaving. Soon it'd just be him and the dragonfly he had just professed his love to. Just... professed his love to.
Wander looked at Kimmiko again and seemed to suddenly realize what exactly he was doing. He sat up straighter and though he kept his tail wound about Kimmiko he grew a little more stiff. He felt the heat rising to his face and was glad that the fur would cover his blush... most of it, at least...

"Wander?" She frowned worried when he began to tense. She gazed up at him worry. Dread filled her heart. Oh please...please don't let him take it back...don't let him say he hadn't meant it...

"Yes?" He managed to not jump at the tone but still watched Kimmiko with renewed anxiety. She looked upset. Had he upset her again? "What'd I do? I mean..." He tried to think of what he meant but couldn't come up with anything more coherent than that. It seemed like no matter what he did he'd still end up upsetting her.
"Sorry..." he added as a sheepish afterthought.

"Is everything ok love?" Her tone was trying to be light but worry had began to seep into her tone again. She laid her head on his chest almost silently begging him not to push her away, to tell her he still loved her.

"I'm fine... are you?" She was so close... her smell filling his nose and his mind. Thinking was becoming harder and harder but he could barely refrain from pushing his face deeper into that welcoming scent. "I hope that you're all right..." His voice was hazy and his head drifted down to nuzzle gently at her shoulder. Some battles were meant to be lost.

Kimmie shivered when he pressed closer, her eyes sliding closed again as she licked his neck and jaw submissively "I still can't believe you are here...that you love me as much as I love you...it's like a dream and I don't ever want to wake up.

Wander's heart sped up again though for different reasons from it's previous galloping. "Not a dream..." he murmured into her neck in between more gentle nuzzles. "I could never dream you this beautiful." The closer they got the easier the sorts of words that he had always stumbled over came to him. Somehow they seemed meant for this sort of moment. "Kimmie..." He caught the tip of an ear between his teeth, releasing only when his sense of taste was captivated by her just as his smell was.
