Rosaline rolled her eyes at the obvious lie but did not say anything and, instead, moved on to her next question. "Will they come back?" She asked, a slight quiver could be heard as the words passed over her lips. As Rosaline waited for his response her eyes wandered the room Lael had put her in. It was beautiful and well decorated. She had to hand it to him, the man had taste.

Lael sighed, nodded. "That is doubtful. But then again, they are not the smartest creatures I have ever met, so it is a possibility. But not to worry, they will not be able to touch you." As he spoke, his eyes narrowed and blackened, and a cold, humourless smile curved his lips for a moment. Lael pulled out another chair and straddled it; once bandaids, cotton swabs and peroxide were set out, he tilted the human's head back and started to clean the cut.

Rosaline closed her eyes and let him dress the cut, however there was something odd that she noticed. Where ever his skin touched her it left a very warm tingling sensation that she found incredabily pleasent. She found herself longing to take his hand in her or to kiss him. This is not good, feeling this way about a total stranger Rosaline thought and she slowly sat up. "I need to go." She said as soon as the bandaid was on, and got up to leave the house before she did anything she would regret.

"Must you?" Lael's arms crossed over the back of the chair and he stared up at her, his chin resting on his folded arms. "You do not have to, you know. You could stay and... talk to me, or something." He really didn't want her to go; he didn't want to let her out of his sight again. Ever. He put on a hopeful expression and gave her puppy-dog eyes.

"No, maybe some other time." Rosaline said and walked out into the cold night air, where she did not feel hypnotised by his presence. She began to walk home rather quickly, afraid of what might be lurking in the shadows.

Lael was stunned; women didn't often refuse him, which made Rosaline confusing. He sat there for a second, trying to figure out if he was happy his looks didn't work on her or annoyed that she seemed completely indifferent to him, then jumped to his feet. He jogged outside to catch up to her. "Okay, then at least let me walk you home. Surely you can see the logic in that?"

Rosaline bit her lip, how could she refuse? "Alright." She said with a smile, slowing down so that he could keep up. "So, do you go to school here?"

He ambled along beside her, his hands in his pockets. "Technically, yes, you could say that. I am not a student, though." Lael smiled, careful to hide his fangs. "I am one of the three teachers that are in charge of the eleventh grade classes."

Rosaline gulped and her right hand shot over her chest. This would make it incredably hard to deny that this night even happened. She mentally scolded herself for having strange feelings for a man who just came in and..sweep her away from danger. She took a step to the side, being so close to him sent warm feelings all over, which she still did not understand. "You don't look old enough for that." She replied with a smile, trying to hide how she really felt.
