"Really? i don't see how i can be much fun. you are the more fun of the two of us i think. you make me laugh, i like that." she said. "I never really laughed before...being as when i did come across my first nequus after finding myself without my memory i was a bit ignorent and then i found myself among lots of those who looked down on me...but you don't look down on me and you make me laugh. its nice." she said

Morthan chuckled and gave a shake of his head. "it's not nice to be looked down on, I know that much first had so I try not to do it too much myself. I don't always manage, when I'm being a grumpy old git for example, but I do try."

He remembered the urge to snap out at her when he'd first encountered the mare; he'd had a truly terrible few weeks and it had been so tempting to find something to pick at. He was very, very glad, the albino decided, that he hadn't. If he had, he'd probably be back in his home territory right now trying to tough out yet another winter with nobody to talk to rather than hanging around in D'ob with Eira and generally acting like a perky yearling.

Eira nodded and smiled. "I don't think you could be so mean as to look down on somone. your so nice..." she said.

Honestly the mare was sure that, if tempted the stallion could be mean, anyone could. But outwardly he seemed gentleman enough to not do somthing so foolish as to taunt another, or pick on someone smaller them him. Then again....she haddn't know him that long.

The white stallion gave a shrug of his wings and a lopsided smile to the darkness. "I'm not perfect; sometimes I sip and snap at people. Sometimes because, childish as this is, 'they started it' by insulting me or threatening me, sometimes just because I think they'll start on me. A lot of my life I've been pretty paranoid, I suppose," he concluded with another shrug. Wasn't that the truth. He'd never been the strongest of Nequus or the fastest. The fights he'd been forced to partake in he'd won mostly by virtue of superior endurance, or by taking advantage of cockiness on the part of his opponent.

"I suppose I try to act big when I feel threatened," the blue-eyed Reya mused aloud. "Physically or... Not sure how to phrase it; emotionally I suppose. Preemptive retaliation I suppose you could call it." He hoped that didn't change her opinion of him. "Never felt threatened by you though, if that's any help," the white said. "Not since the first time you spoke to me in any case, though I suppose I was a bit nervous before that because, well, you were..." He shrugged again, he was doing a lot of that. "So pretty," he finished with a sheepish grin, glad that she had spoken kindly to him before he'd made a fool of himself.

"Everyone has their own demons. mabye, since your not threatened by me...i could help you get over your paranoia. and that doesn't seem to bad to me anyway, i mean everyone gets paranoiad about somthing. you won't scare me away that easily. Unless you tell me your some deranged murder i think i can stick around." she smiled. "Thank you...tho i may not belive i'm that pretty...thanks..."

The blue-eyed stallion smiled and nodded his head to the mare's words. "Yes, thank you; I think you've made a good start at that already to be honest. It's amazing how much better the world looks when you're not all by yourself. And if you can stop me being paranoid, perhaps one of these days I'll be able to convince you you're beautiful," Morthan added with a soft chuckle. He couldn't imagine how she didn't see it in herself... but then quite a lot of people couldn't recognize their best points, himself included at times.

"Mabye you can, but don't get your hopes up on that one. I mean honestly Morthan, i've got stick legs and a stupid looking head. I look like a big idiot." she sighed and shook her head. "somtimes i wonder if i'm just to stupid to realize how much of an idiot i really am..." she addmitted. "I think i'm rather smart but..." she shrugged. "smart for my breed may be retarded for another."

Morthan gave a slightly sad smile and shook his head. "Well I must be going blind even during the day in my old age then," he said to the darkness, "because you look quite lovely to me. As to intelligence... Well I've met sharper people than you Eira, but I’ve met some very sharp people indeed. In my opinion, you’re far from dumb, but again that’s the opinion of one Reya. Still, that’s what I think, and honestly I wouldn’t much care if anyone else thought you were plain or stupid. I don’t and that’s what matters to me.” He wished he could see her to go over an nuzzle her elegant neck, but though he could tell more or less where she was from her voice he couldn’t pinpoint her precisely enough to be sure of himself so he settled for an emphatic nod and a reassuring smile.

Eira smiled lightly and moved over, giving his cheek a quick nuzzle. "Thank you." she said. "Perhaps that is all that matters. Who cares what a bunch of stuck up nequus think?" She nodded. "all that matters is i am around those who don't think that way. and you certainly don't."

Morthan gave a pleased snort and nuzzled back. "Precisely," he agreed with a nod. "People who feel the need to always be putting one over on other people are idiots, and we don't care about idiots, right?" He tried not to care anyway, and most of the time he succeeded. It was only, the white stallion considered, when he was feeling negatively about himself that he gave heed to the slights of other. The rest of the time, unless he was physically threatened, he was able to shrug the words off. Hopefully, with Eira around, he would find himself in the position of disliking himself less and less, it had certainly been the pattern so far.

Eira smiled and nodded. "yes, we don't care about idiots." she said happily. She really enjoyed being around Morthan. She didn't feel bad about herself around him and his happy attitude. And if he ever was negative she couldn't tell now. Mabye she was effecting him to...that made her happy.

The white stallion whinnied cheerfully to Eira's words and pranced backwards a few paces in a sudden bout of exuberence. Sadly, his back hooves found the slope of the bank and the Reya found himself slithering gracelessly to land on his rump in the river. A moment after the splash he had scrabbled to his hooves and was grinning sheepishly up at where he remembered Eira being.

"I meant to do that," he told her with a chuckle, shaking the water from his coat. "Most definitely I did." Woops, hopefully he hadn't looked too daft.

Eira moved forward with worry. "Are you ok?" she relaxed a bit at his chuckle. least he wasn't terribly hurt. But, still worried, she moved beside him and looked him over, cheacking for any cuts. "don't be silly, come on, your all wet. best get you somplace warm before all that water freezes and you end up a Reya-cicle." she nudges him lightly.

Morthan smiled and nodded. "Right," he agreed, reaching forward cautiously with a forehoof until he found his footing and transferred his weight over. This pattern continued, interspersed twice by the stallion finding the bank a little sooner than he'd expected with his reaching hoof, and eventually brought him back to level ground.

"Well," he snorted, ears swiveling about for Eira, "that was a pain in the rump. Would you back off a touch so I can have a shake please, don't want to spray you with water." For all he knew she already had, he'd been rather busy focusing on walking, but he felt it better to check that she was out of the way than risk flinging cold water at her.

"Go ahead" she said, tho in fact she had never moved. She knew it was a bit mean to trick him when he couldn't see her but she was worried about him and wanted to check the extent of the damage a bit more. So instead of moving back she moved around, looking for any scratches or patches of bruises, or bones sticking out.
