iHyde Muhwahahaha! I just got my first whammy pedal, the Ibanez's weeping demon. What should I get next? Delay? Better distortion? No one really answered my previous reply... Which pedal is most important....hmm.... guess it depends on the music you're playing. If you're unhappy with your distortion or want more grit, then start with a distortion pedal. I would say a wah pedal comes next, then probably some time based effects like delay or reverb. These will let you get a good dry rhythm tone and then a great lead with a minor amount of delay. you can also use delay as a great effect to sound like there are two guitars playing etc... once you've got a great lead/rhythm sound you can trip it out with chorus, phase, flange, tremelo, or maybe a compressor if you want to. Try out the various pedals in your music store, or if you're like me, look them up on the net if you think you're interested. Stay away from gear-heavy forums and websites like thegearpage.net ; they will make you want to buy pedals until your room fills up.

There's nothing wrong I guess, just keep good cables on your board and buy yourself an NS2 to keep the noise down when you have all 14 distortion pedals selected at once! burning_eyes

Well, you did ask what was wrong with too many pedals. Although if you want 14 or more distortion sounds just get yourself a Line 6 DM4. Besides, I have three different drive pedals and would love to have more, but I just can't afford to have them. I'm satisfied right now with my mods but I won't be a few weeks from now. smile For anyone into building pedals, you should check out http://www.buildyourownclone.com/index1.htmlor http://generalguitargadgets.com/seriously kickass stuff here. Most of it rivals keely and Analogman in that way that really doesn't take away the mystique of getting their mods.

At least one that can pull of different sounds , pretty much just getting a really good sounding one that is also versatile . Kinda like a good overdrive . I like to have a nice overdrive , a good fuzz and a big muff style fuzz .

MAKQ Static Thrash I try to avoid fuzz like the plague, haha. thats cause you cant handle it . NO! IT CAN'T HANDLE ME!!!!!!! Haha...no, I don't like it for arpeggio's or speed picking, I had a danelectro Fabtone, and it drove me nuts! I can't stand it because chainsaw riffs don't sound right, and it makes notes indistinguishable. I like crisp distortion with a lot of punch, crunch, and sustain. GETCHA PULL O' THAT!
