Running through the dark streets, a figure made his way through a narrow alley. He constantly turned back or looked over his shoulder. Someone, or something, was chasing him. Suddenly, a winged being descended from the sky above and landed infront of the figure. "Hold it right there, Child of Sin!" cried the being. "We angels have been sent here to destroy you. Prepare yourself for Hell." The figure could only smirk. "You don't know who I am, do you?" asked the figure. He took a few steps forward and crossed his arms. "The name's Loni," he said, "and I'm going to kill you." With that, the angel prepared himself for an attack, only to swing at nothing. Confused, he looked about, somewhat panicking. He realized who he was dealing with. The legendary "Lightspeed Loni". The angel then felt only cold as he fell over and embraced the darkness of death, Loni cracking his knuckles as he watched the angel fall.

Karpay's breath came in short gasps as she ducked the flying kick that was aimed at her face.
"Come get me." Karpay whispered, staring at the angel with her empty eyes. "Come on little birdy." she giggled. Instead of waiting, Karpay did a quick counterclockwise spin to build up her momentum and slammed her right foot into the side of the angel.
The angel gasped as Karpay swung around for a second kick, and flew up into the air. "You shall all be wiped from this planet! This is not your place!" it snarled.
"Then why are you here?" Karpay growled. "You're the one with the wings!" She started backing up near an alley. "You think I'm the weird one on this planet? I'm not the one with flappy featheres that stick out from my back!"
The angel snarled again and dived at Karpay who did a roll to get out of the way and ran.
Must...get away! she thought wildly. There were stories, the other night at the bar. She didn't want to end up like the kids from the stories. Karpay never liked fairytales.

Alice sighed as she walked home. Not only had she given her number to someone, she also kicked a waitress when she asked Anthony what he wanted to drink. Today was not a good day. Of course, it could always get worse. She must be losing her vision, too! There wasn't any light in that alley, but there it was again!
It's probably the guilt getting to me, she told herself. She looked behind her, and she thought she could see a winged figure in the middle of the beam.
"Crap."
She grabbed her dagger out of the pocket in her purse, took a second to aim, and threw it at her mark. She heard a shreik behind her that was both heavenly and terrifying while sprinting away from the danger into a twenty four hour shop, ready to wait all night in front of the open cash register.

Loni knelt down beside the angel's body. "Your power," he whispered, "I want it." He placed his hand upon the angel and began to draw energy from the body. When the drain was complete, he placed the energy in a fiendish looking flask. "As soon as I learn how to absorb this power," he said to himself, "I will become even stronger." With that, he stood and left the scene.

Her footsteps echoed in the alleyway loudly and she wondered whether or not the angel had given up. Karpay had been running about half an hour straight, and had ducked through random tunnels, hoping to get away before to angel called over more companions.
She stopped for a moment to breathe and took a step forward, breathing in a whiff of tainted air and froze. "What?" she asked, puzzled, as she spotted some glowing pool of liquid. She looked around and spotted a twig on the ground.
Picking it up, she bent down and stirred the tiny pool of glowing liquid. Seeing that it was safe to touch with the stick, she dipped her finger in, curious to know what it felt like. But now, it was no longer glowing. It had dimmed at her touch. Karpay immediately felt awful.
"I tainted it." she whispered softly.
Karpay stood up and brushed herself off, flinging a droplet of the liquid off her finger. She walked around cautiously, looking around for more of the pooled liquid. Her eyes caught a small reflection and she whipped around, arms out, ready to attack or defend. She stared. Oh, it's just a dagger. Karpay thought with a sigh of relief. She noticed it was glowing at the tip, where some of the glowing liquid was.
That wasn't just any liquid. That was blood. Holy blood at that.
Karpay gasped and took a step back quickly.

Loni did not get very far when a group of humans emerged from the shadows, each holding a type of machine gun. They were obviously working for the angels. They said nothing and open fired upon Loni. After the humans stopped firing, simply because they had run out of ammunition, Loni emerged unharmed. He dashed forward and quickly disposed of four of them, leaving only one alive. "I'm going to enjoy killing you," Loni hissed. He took off towards the man, as he tried to run away. To Loni, it appeared as though time had stopped. He landed six punches into the man's chest, two elbows in his back, kicked his legs five times each, and then finally roundhouse kicked him in the head, breaking his neck. In reality, it appeared as though the man had simply broken. Loni sighed. "None pose as a challenge to me." He continued in his way away from the site.

Karpay kept along the side of the streets with the alleys, not daring to step away. If an angel came, she was not going to stick around to fight it. Not tonight.
Tonight was...No, I will NOT think of it! she thought, grabbing her head with her hands. She kept walking, ignoring the weird looks she was receiving from the strangers out on the streets. She stared them down with her empty eyes and continued down a darker street until she heard footsteps.
"Who goes there?" she asked in a defiant voice.
((Issit okay to run into you, Solomon?))

Loni turned around. "I ask the questions around here," he answered. "Reveal yourself so I may judge you." With that, he had appeared behind the girl, looking her over. "You are... like me," he said. "Have you been following me?"

She held herself back from jumping when he had almost magically appeared behind her.
Karpay shook her head, a little startled. "Who died and made you king?" she scoffed, spotting his green eyes.
"And what do you mean 'like' you?" Karpay whispered. "There are none like me. None at all!" She realized she was babbling and went quiet immediately. Never before had she run into someone with such a dark ominous presence.

Loni chuckled quietly. "Speaking of dead," he began, caressing her neck. "Just be thankful that you aren't." He move his hand up and down the side of her neck. "Now then, you are like me in the sense that you, too, are a Child of Sin... a Child of Envy, to be exact."

She shuddered as his fingers touched her neck, wanting to shrink back, but wanting to know more about what the other knew.
Karpay only knew parts of what she was. A sinner, an angel had called her. She had sinned so badly that the angel's blood couldn't stand her touch, and wilted and died.
"How do you know all this?" she demanded in a whisper. "I've wandered for over 600 years, and found no one who could tell me anything."

Loni smirked. "I know all of this because I've been here for almost eight hundred years," he said. "I was living a pretty good life until the others started showing up. Now I've got angels all over the place. Weaklings, but angels regardless."

"There are others?" she asked, perking up. "And yeah, those angels...are getting quite annoying. They attack with no reason, and by no means stop when you ask them to." Karpay took a step back from him, suddenly suspicious.
"How do I know you're not one of them in disguise or something?" she asked, knowing it was a stupid question the moment it blasted off of her lips.

Loni smirked. "Well, if you insist," he said. "It has been a while since I've met a girl around here." He cracked his neck. "You're not going to like this, but it should prove my point." He disappeared and then suddenly reappeared with something in his hands. "If you're feeling a draft..." he grinned, knowing that it might be all he had to say.

She felt a blush creep up her cheek and resisted the urge to run away. "Okay, you proved your point." she said, her face turning pink. Luckily it was dark.
If he's like me...she wondered, why can't I move as fast as him? She cleared her throat.
"S-sorry I've bothered you." she muttered. "Perhaps I should be going on my...way." she said, suddenly realizing she had no destination anyhow.
