((S'ok. XD))
Yiska smiled warmly. It seemed that even in the most darkest of days, Eponine could never loose face. She'd be as cheery and light hearted for what seemed ever. And it amazed him really. Never had he come across someone who just...let life live. No matter what they faced, they always had a cheerful smile and air about them. So many lead everyday, hampered by such mundane worries. And yet, she seemed to stand out like a ray of hope. That fears and worries where just nothing but phantoms that others brought upon themselves.
He eagerly started to follow her. Flicking his tail this way and there. Small water droplets soaring through the air until they crashed upon a solid surface. "Yea. I believe it would get a bit boring. I'm not sure how some Soquili do it really. Going out and living life until that time seems the way to be. And you, Eponine, are like the poster child for such a thought." He sidled up next to her. Shooting her a short glance before he waited for her to continue. "Just like you told be I could be a beacon."

Eponine chuckled, leading the dark coated stallion over the damp and chilled plains. It wasn't too far, but if they weren't thoroughly soaked to the bone already, they would be by the time they reached the base of the cliffs. The blue mare picked her walk in to a trot, careful over the wet ground so she didn't loose her balance and slip in the mud and puddles.
But as she walked, she couldn't help but mull over his words. Her? A poster child of . . .well. . . of anythng? Eponine never thought of herself as anything but ordinary and every day. There was nothing special about her, not even her simple blue coat. Oh, yes, she had a stammer but that didn't really work in her favor. So to be called a poster child. . .
"Th-that's a good thing, right?" She teased, glancing over her shoulder at the black and green patterned stallion. Pushing her way through the slush and sleet, wincing now and then when the freezing wind gusted, she was glad she had suggested finding shelter. "I've n-n-never been c-called much of anything 'sides a nuisance," she admitted with a chuckle, knowing full well how some (like her brothers) grew impatient with her games and playful, dreamy nature.
It was nice to be complimented.
"Thankfully," she grinned, "We're n-not like those other soquili!" Leaping in to a puddle, not at all concerned about the wet she'd kick up (they were already dripping wet anyway - a little more water wouldn't hurt) she chuckled again before assuring, "It's n-n-not too far. . . . And I th-think, by the time we get their, I'll be qu-quite ready to be out of the wet and c-cold!"

He followed closely next to her. A small shiver running along the muscles on his flanks as the cold air picked and poked at the vulnerability of a wet coat. He grinned at her question, giving a small nod of his head. "Its a good thing, yes."
As she picked up to a trot, so did he. Keeping up with her was easy. Plus she really wasn't going that fast anyway. "I don't see how you could be a nuisance. Your free spirited is what I'd call it. If others can't handle that well...too bad for them. Their missing out."
Shaking his head, he laughed as she lept into a puddle. Avoiding her little splash and the entire puddle itself. "I think I'm about ready to be out of the wet and cold myself." Yiska shook his body a little bit. Trying to at least get it somewhat dry. Which was, in this circumstance, fruitless.

"You're t-too kind," she chuckled, inwardly pleased that at least someone could appreciate her spirited nature! Given, the mare wasn't entirely sure if she agreed about soquili 'missing out' when it came to getting to know her - she wasn't any one or anything brilliant or important - but the girl wasn't going to argue. It was nice of the stranger to say as much, given as they'd only just met!
Eponine laughed as she bounded in to another puddle, though she did veer away from the stallion so as not to get him included in the splashing. "I w-w-won't be dry until we get th-there," she added with a silly grin, "So I m-might as well enjoy th-the puddles as I c-can." They'd freeze over as the temperature dropped anyway, and then they'd be nothing but hazardous as one slipped and stumbled over them. Ice was fun but frustrating and a bit painful on more than one occasion. . . .
"But I m-must agree," she finally admitted, slowing in her splashing and giving her own disheveled and stained blue and white coat a shake. The cold was biting in to her bones and she could feel it. To be warm and dry and out of the nasty weather was something that sounded more than pleasant!
Passing through the plains, one almost missed the cliffs that were fast approaching before them. Darkness, as well as the whip of wind and rain and sleet and ice helped hide the great cliffs. It was only when the ground began to heave upwards and the grasses were lost to something more rocky could one begin to point out the cliffs looming before them. A few trees jutted up now and then, though their foliage was scarce and they were just as coated in ice.
"Th-this way," she encouraged, her own wistfulness and anxiousness entering her words. Moving parallel to the clifffaces, they rounded a jutting edge of base of the cliffs only to find a more populated woodland nearby. Firs and pines populated it, as well as a few dead looking birches. It couldn't be called a woods, not really, but it was enough to keep shade in during daylight hours. Trotting so close to the cliffs, one did find that they acted as a bit of a wind breaker. The woods opposite of them helped some too. "Ahha - here we are!" She announced, giving her coat a bit of a shake before stepping in to what looked to be some creatures abandoned den. It was shallow but large enough to fit two, be they standing or sitting. It was cool, but with the rain off their backs and the wind blocked it made for a comfortable abode.
"Sorry it's so sm-small," she softly apologized, realizing that he might have expected something a little more. . . . .roomy. "You're th-the first bit'o'c-c-company I've had here."

It didn't matter to Yiska is a Soquili was a somebody or a nobody. Everything depended on their personality. That is how he figured everyone should be looked at. If you had a sour personality well then he'd probably stay clear of you. If it was a personality he was drawn to, then he'd rather stick around.
He watched her splash through the puddles again. Still keeping his distance. "Yea. Once winter fully sets in there won't be anything but ice puddles. And I doubt those would be as much fun as...water puddles." Ice was an interesting thing to see. Once moving and lively water and in an instant with just a mere drop in temperature it would become solid as rock. Which made him wonder if water changed that drastically when it was a lot hotter.
The stallions light green eyes wandered over every inch of scenery as they made their way to her little hideaway. The nearby cliffs coming into a hazy view as he glanced upwards. Muscles in his legs stiffened a bit as the ground started to head in a more uphill fashion, the rain having soaked the ground would of cause a little slip if he was not careful. Sliding downhill was not as exciting when you were trying to go up it.
As they reached her little enclosure, he smiled. It was small, what he had expected since she appeared to live on her own at the moment. But it was just fine with him. Making his way into the den, he gave his body a quick shake. To at least get himself a bit drier. Looking around briefly, he soon turned his attention back to Eponine. A small chuckle before he turned around to look towards the wet outside world. "Its just fine. I didn't really expect something grandiose. Whats the point of having some large place to stay in if it doesn't give you shelter? I'd rather much have a small place to stay in that kept me covered from the elements than some wide open place that barely kept me warm at night." His curly tail moved back and forth effortlessly as he watched the rain outside.

((Argh! I so thought I'd responded to this. D: Apparently my thoughts lied. Sorry for the delay!))
Despite having fun splashing in the wintery puddles, Eponine was rather relived to see the site of her temporary residence. A small abode, but cozy and perfect for one as young and small as she. Following the black and green stallions example, she wasted no time following him in to the small den. It was a snug fit, but room enough to stand and even curl up without tangling or getting in each others way too much.
The ice that clung to her coat and bangs quickly began to melt as the worst of the winter weather was stopped by the small enclosure. Her bangs dripped water, even after her shake, and the girl gave a small snort in amusement. It was chilly outside, and cool within, but it would warm up doubly fast with not one, but two bodies present!
Aqua eyes bright, she chuckled and gave a nod at her companion. "I much prefer a c-c-cozy place myself, th-thought wide open spaces have th-th-their charms too. Not so much in th-th-the middle of wint-ter, of course, but. . . ."
There was something glorious and wonderful about the open fields in the middle of spring and summer. To feel the warmth on ones back, to be greeted by the stars high in the heavens - it was wonderful! But such was the changing of the seasons. . . . .
Life was constant change and adaption. One season drifted in to another, and round and round the world went. Eyes bright, she glanced over at the stallion and grinned. "As b-b-beautiful as the snow is, I th-th-think this is much better, wouldn't you agree?" Warm and cozy was the best, in her most humble opinion.

((S'fine. x3 ))
Given the size of the den made him a bit edgy. Eponine was somewhat smaller in comparison to him. If need be he'd stand just so that she had enough room. He really didn't want to smother her if they both laid down.
The warmth that both their bodies produced did, indeed, warm up the little shelter quickly. Which was a nice relief. His muscles were burning to get warm and dry.
This season was certainly a fickle one. But utmost interesting as well. How cold some days could be where others would be warmer. Almost like a cold summer. Where summer days, some would be ungodly hot and others a nice breeze would flow from the norther mountains to give a bit of a relief to those who dwell here.
But Yiska much preferred the spring more than any other season he had experience. Not so much because he was born during this time, but everything just seemed so much more alive. And green.
He turned his head to look at her with a smile. "Yes, it is much better. Not as cold and wet as it is out there. Nothing bad about the coldness and the wetness..." Yiska turned his head to glance at the world outside once more. "But perhaps in moderation it wouldn't be so bad.
