The two of you who mentioned Xenosaga are now my heroes. heart
And, welcome. Sorry to say I won't be calling you by your title unless you prove your rank to me...and even then I probably won't call you by it. It's not you. I'm like that with EVERYONE. sweatdrop
And, I'm mainly aware of the Jungian Anima/Animus. o_o The only other time I had heard it was in Xenosaga and Xenogears

8Bit Jack ...You do know this isn't an RP guild, right? yeah, i do, if i wanted to RP. i would stick to my RP guild. no i am for real. and its traditional elvish, the language that was used in Avalon, the island, not the tree or the castle or the city, the Island off the coast of britain, where the order of the magius first gained hold in the west. It was all women mages/seers/etc. and they spoke in what they called "the langauge of the elf folk." at that time, elf folk where all spirits of nature. not elvish as in elfs speak it.

chocokarma anyway, the term anima comes from some long dead language... i think its "considered" traditional elfish... not sure where it comes from, but it is used in this context as the highest rank of magickal use in the order. since i am the only remaining order user, i have the rank of anima defacto. anyway. Isn't it the Latin term for soul/mind? Because Carl Jung uses it to describe the female part of the soul. Edit: Oh, Kizzy already mentioned that. My bad.
Lazy Wiki Reference
Incidentally, I'm a direct descendent of one of the high kings of Ireland (The O'Donnell clan), and I've sure as hell never been told about any of this elf stuff. Are you sure it's not about the Fae or the Sidh?
And while we're at using silly titles from long dead ancestors who don't have any kind of standing in the current society, you can call me Princess Knola. wink xd

So I don't see how the British can bastardise their own myths, matey.

Except it doesn't change the fact it's only recorded in any documents as Latin. There are no records of it ever being elvish. It's proto Indo-European root is "ane", meaning to breathe. It's all well and good you making up these pieces about old and dead languages, but if there's no documented evidence despite the fact that humans have been writing s**t down for 5000 years, then I'm going to have to say you're cranking out bullshit.

Find me those recorded texts then please. Because if you can only talk about them, and not show anyone them, then they might as well not exist. As for bastardising Western languages, how many Western languages do you think there are exactly? Because, here's the thing. Britain is an Indo-European language. Meaning it's ALREADY a bastardised form of European languages, so I don't exactly see how they can ******** around with them anymore than they already have done. Of course, maybe you're speaking about Tolkien's attempts at Elvish. In which case, they're not bastardised forms of anything. Sindarin Elvish is essentially Welsh, and Quenya is essentially Finnish. Tolkien was a linguistics professor. He didn't ******** up anything, he just listen to a language and its sounds and used it to make his own language. The words within both languages are not shared, only the types of sounds used to pronounce them. It's like me going "Tofar meansing far zombrolly hangpop." I'm not bastardising the English language by using the sounds it contains because I am not speaking it. I am just using its phonetics.

Normally though, an O before your name means that you're descended from someone pretty important, but it doesn't necessarily mean nobility.
This place had a good list of the kings of Ireland.
You'll see lots of O'Donnells, although it's spelled a little different. From what I know, there were about five major families--the O'Donnells being the most powerful, followed closely by the O'Conners, the O'Brians, and two others whose names escape me. It was these families who banded together against the English and drove them out temporarily (which I believe is the premise of Braveheart, but I've never seen the movie so I can't be sure).

Oraighlegh was winning the race, but was unable to swim the moat, his love, the princess, was the prize, so he cut off his hand and threw it across the moat to win.

People will take you far more serious when you present yourself and have good grammar. Who would you believe more? Some hardcore nub claiming to have magical powers with bad grammar, or with good grammar?

It is not that hard to hit the shift key every now and then.Nor to think about spelling. If you make a mistake, thats what the backspace button is for.You already bother with punctuation so all you need is spelling and capitalization to get a bit more respect around here...Although if this "magius" stuff keeps up,you will not receive and of mine.
