Hahha, I find that pretty hard actually, my vocab isn't bad as such but nothing above the ordinary. Though dictionary.com is a big help... its OK to cheat if it's feeding people?!?!?!!!!!

This site rocks, because it combines two of my favourite things ever: the English language, and food.

When you get words you don't know, think about how they're made. It it supposed to be a noun? A verb? An adjective? And look at the word carefully, try to figure out what it is from what it or some part of it resembles. I've made educated guesses on a lot of the higher-level words that worked. They still talk about word construction in school, I hope?

That's what I do as well. Find the word stem, think of a word you already know with that stem, and you've probably found the meaning.

Heh, my school loved drilling word construction into us. I adored the spelling quizzes simply because it was fun for me, but the diagramming nearly shot me in the foot. ><;; I can still do it, I'm just rusty now.
And there's no way you can cheat because nobody loses. ^_^ Either way, you get it right or they tell you the answer and you get it right later.

Yep! Play long enough and it'll start repeating words. Repetition will help you learn what the words mean. I hit Level 50 a couple of times today--not long, though. The words get pretty weird on level 50! sweatdrop

Oh, hey--I just got a Pip & Jane Baker word--adumbrate! I'm sure I heard that one in Trial of a Time Lord. So I guess you can finally find out what Pip & Jane were saying if you play this game enough, too! lol (adumbrate = "foreshadow", BTW)

Cool!!
And my Mum's got addicted too! I favourited the page and told her about it, and she turned round to me earlier on today and said "That word game is moreish!" She's thinking of telling one of our other friends about it!
