Anonymous Karma Cricetian exclaim A confession from Ted or I won't settle. >=[ true.... that would be better and we would know the truth... Why is knowing so important? Seriously? It's just like Rye and her tremendous generosity; people are attacked for being really nice. Why can't we just accept it graciously, and move on? Especially when the gift giver gave anon... it's not like we owe anyone anything, because we can't, there is no ulterior motive in an event such as this. So if it's obvious nothing is expected in return, so why do we continue to demand to know the secret? What is so wrong with being nice without taking credit for it? Ultimately it is the purest form of charity. Is it because we want to send something back? Well we can't, get over it Is it because we feel out of control of a situation? Suck it up Is it because we want to say thank you? Well we all did in the thread Teddy made. Who ever gave must have read. Now I too have been guilty of pointing the finger to some people. But I am now convinced that who ever it was has no intention of giving up. So why bother pushing and pushing. They didn't commit a crime. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'm so damned cynical of most things in life, when a juicy secret comes along, sometimes I just revel in the mystery, and never want to know.... hey, maybe that's why I never finished the last Harry Potter xd Sorry if it sound like I am scolding, but Rye taught be a lesson a while ago. You can like it or lump it. If you don't want to accept her generosity, either give it to someone else, or get the items by other means. It isn't fair to treat a person who is being nice like they are a criminal. They are not playing a trick on anyone (other than not telling if they were accused), nor are they cheating themselves. So it's one thing to muse over who gave, it's quite another to try to smoke them out.

Well I personally think it's all in good fun and love. I think it's great fun bugging whoever this person is. They obviously had great fun thinking up cute little gifts for everyone, so we can have fun in return. I have no problem accepting the gift. If they don't want to give themselves up they won't. It's not like we're showing up at their door with torches and pitchforks. We're just making silly little jokes about it over the net. I think they can easily handle the pressure. wink I'm sure they're still enjoying it anyway, wondering how long we will keep bringing up the issue.

It was in good fun, but to me it feels like the tone has changed. And it makes me feel (almost) ashamed to have been part of it earlier.

In no way am I trying to turn this into a negative and I don't think anyone else would either. We're all a family here and I don't think anyone would want to hurt anyone else in that way.

Not everything is posted, some of it has been through the PM I have received. A written forum is a delicate thing, in the sense that things like sarcasm doesn't translate well. I think it's the same thing with this, people might not be even realizing they way they are starting to sound. All I'm really saying is... it's been a week now, maybe the intense "Who done it?" can slow down? I know I am at fault in this thread, having said what I did about Teddy, but I didn't expect people to run with it as they have.

Like I said, I'm happy with my gift and I gladly accept it. It was all a game to me.

God, I'm sorry for my ******** insane rant. I still do believe in what I said, but I shouldn't have done it in such a mean spirited way. Man! I'm such an a-hole sometimes.

Sorry, now that you mention it, I did seem to sound a little violent there. I just don't want to end up saying it was someone in particular, Ted, who's going to be gone for a while now, if we're not sure, which we can't be unless he confessed himself. If it wasn't Ted, and we give him the thanks and praise, then I just think it would be kind of mean to whoever it really was. So saying it was "obviously" him without proof just doesn't sit well with me o_o It certainly could have been him, but I'd just rather it not be settled until el anonymous settles it themselves. And if they don't want to confess, then I'm still happy with it never being solved. If you want to talk about keeping the mystery alive xp

To put it simply, its the quest for knowledge. I for one am an Epistemologist true and blue. I love epistemology and all it entails. I am a lover of wisdom - philosophy - therefore making me a philosopher. So knowing helps. I can care less why they did it but knowing who helps paint the picture.
Plus secretly we all hold the kudos meter for all people we come in contact. Like for some, I'm a good guy on here, while others hate my apparent arrogance at times as well as my attitude and sarcasm that are all part of my natural character. It really means nothing in the scheme of things but its nice to give credit to where credit is due. Especially when you love just what happened. It's like someone randomly giving you $1000 on the street. You'd ask their name cause you want to give credit to them for that when you tell your friends. And you'll hold to yourself a lil' shrine to remember the happiness they give. All simply for the sake of memories.
Just my take on it all... confused

Just my take on it all... confused I donno, to me it's like when someone makes a large anonymous donation to a charity. Anon means they can't claim it on their taxes. They did it for the pureness of their heart. Maybe the person did it to give access material/pixelated items off their soul... so maybe it isn't for us to know, it's someone else's spiritual or philosophical test, and we are not supposed to get anything else out of it but the warm fuzzies that someone thought us worthy enough of receiving. But of course it's all speculation. I understand the want to give credit, but obviously it just wasn't needed or wanted in this case because otherwise they would have put the name on the gifts from the beginning. Why would you send something anonymously only to reveal that you did it later? But that all aside, Omni, I don't think you are arrogant. Believe me, I just met the most arrogant pompous a*****e on Gaia, and you are a total pink fluffy bunny wabbit compared to him. heart whee 4laugh
