Yes I have already been down all these roads. What happened was I sent an email to the HR assistant because they were making me take the HEP B vaccine for the thrid time (not the third shot, the third series) and I explained I would sign the waiver but could not take it do to be pregnant.
That was a wednesday. I worked only 4 days a week but 48 hours a week. On monday when I returned to work, I was let go "because AATB standards say we have to have nurses in your potisiton." I had been doing the job, and well for 2 years.
The state I work in is a right to work state. They don't have to give a reason. Could just say because that is what we decided and that is that. I was not able to cllect unemployment, or anything else. I went as high as I could with no money.
So now I am 5 1/2 months pregnant, on medicaid and WIC and food stamps, I can't get a job because I am an insurance risk at the moment. And am forced to working temp jobs for 1/3 the pay what I used to make.
And on top of that, thisdoctor is stressing me out. They won't tell me anything but "Drink more water" And we will wait and see. If I did not have a medical background, and knew how dangerous some things could be, I probably would just believe them. But since I have this background, even if I dealt with adults more then infants, I am scared.
The good news as I see it, is I saw the baby's bladder on the ultrasound and it was full so the kidney's are functioning. Since most of the fluid is fetal urine, this makes me not as nervous as I could be. But with doctor's be cryptic and not telling me everything I am getting frustrated.

It sucks about your work, but obviously you're more worried about the fluid problem. From my experience, doctors have a habit of finding *something* wrong, so that they can tell you to do something. Some sort of compulsion to give you value for your money. If you are adequately hydrated (and unless you weigh more than 200 pounds you are perfectly hydrated by any standard), you are doing what you can. Quite honestly, you have enough on your plate (or in your glass, haha).
The doctors always liked to tell my sister that she was underweight, and nagged her to eat more, during every pregnancy. But there would always be one appointment where THE SAME DOCTOR would say she weighed more than she should that day, and to not eat so much. They'd be holding her chart in their hands, looking at how she was usually underweight, and how she only eats organic foods, and they'd tell her to just cut back on the fries for a few weeks!
I personally hope your next appointment goes better. You are probably one of the healthiest parents out there. My brother-in-law did dental work on a woman who was pregnant and TRYING to lay off the crack/cocaine and heroine. Her baby came out, against all odds, perfectly healthy. If she can do it, you certainly can. heart

Okay went back to the doctor today, they had the same girl do the ultrasound. She kept telling me that she had to find the kidneys cause that could be the problem with too little fluid, when she (and I) could clearly see that the baby's blader was full yet again.
I am begining to think this girl does not know what is going on. I am thinking of switching doctors now. Plus they did the ultrasound, rushed the girl and then just sent me home without telling me anything but "Drink more water"
My next appointment is 12/29. And the girl kept saying that she could not see cause the baby was too small and there was not enough fluid, yet she did not even offer to do a vaginal ultrasound.

For all of my pregnancy, I was told that my baby was too small, and there was too little fluid. The Doctors kept saying that she was going to be born batween 3-4 lbs, and I got really worried. My daughter was born just over two weeks late, at 6lbs 9oz, and healthy.

you know ultrasound tech. in even capeable hands is hard to read.
I mean just the hearing of the heart beat. Do you know that over 90 percent of the time what you're ACTUALLY hearing is the whooshing of blood through the placenta. Most docs consider that good enough.
I can bet money that the sound most peopele probably heard when the doc found the heart beat was placenta. ((when I said you I meant...like you people of the guild...sorry xd ))
This is because when I was pregnant I visited one of two people in the clincs, either the doc I was assigned to and his students or the Midwife. Every time I saw the students or Doc Wolfe I always got the wooosh woosh woosh sound that everyone associates with the heart beat.
The midwife when she did it she found that sound, and we said "Oh there it is" she looked at us and scrunched up her face and said, "nope that's the placenta. Oh here it is." And sure as s**t there was this fast paced clear as a bell galloping sound that sounded more like a heartbeat than the wooshing sound. Then of course when I go back to the doc and he's all "Oh there is the heartbeat" I'm like THAT'S NOT THE HEART!

No we hear the heartbeat, it is strong and solid like mine. Just a bit fainter and faster.

Well, with Walter, his measured fluid fluctuated from 7 to 14 during the last couple months - when he was born, there was TONS of fluid. So even the in-utero measurements aren't perfectly accurate.
I'd just try to drink as much water as you feel comfortable doing, and just try to eat healthy. If you do have low fluid, there's really not a whole lot you can do.
But I do wish you luck on your kiddo!

Okay we found out why the fluid is too low and the baby is two weeks too small, The cord only has two vessels, it is supposed to have three. So I am on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. I am supposed to be on my left siode or in a "v" position with my head and feet up so all my blood is being forced to the baby for the next 14 weeks. This only adds to our money problem cuase I really can't find a job now.
Thanks to everyone who gave me well wishes. I really need them now.

I was thinking about you earlier today, and wondered how things were going.
I'm so sorry that things aren't going so well with the pregnancy, especially as it leaves you in a tight spot with money. I really hope (and pray) that your pregnancy continues, and things start getting better for you. Remember that every day is another step closer to having your baby, and a day further in it's developement, and a better chance at survival if the baby is delivered early.
I wish the news could be better for you, and bed rest must suck. Keep us updated if you can.

lunashock I thought that was illegal to fire a woman if she becomes pregnant! Ensure has a BUNCH of flavors out now! I don't know about the food stamps thing, but it is expensive.[/quote Yes you can buy then with food stamps it is a nutrional supplement and so it your allowed to buy for the love god if you can buy soda and chips that are not good for you (thou they might be taste).... Maura Runesomething that i discovered when i got pregnate...I realized that i was in-tune to what was going on then than ever before. SO ask yourself do you think that doctor is right do belive that is your baby is endanger and if you believe that the doctor is wrong and that he put your baby at risk then go to the emergentcy room and tell them my doctor is so and so he dont know s**t i am scarred i want some to who is not him to exam me and then when you get an ansewer from the hospital then ask then to refer you to a new doctor/midwife that my advice to youOne more thing to chew on remember that the prayer of a stranger are with from now until you tell me that everything is ok please keep me posted
