It had taken the four Russians only an hour to set up the stadiums, mats, and seats. Yuriy Ivanov, the red-headed leader of the four, looked around with his hands on his hips. He nodded several times, satisfied with their work. "This should do for now boys."

Bryan Kutznetsov, hands in his pockets, let out a brief yawn. "Now, we just wait, ne'?" Yuriy opened his mouth to respond, but as soon as he did the gymnasium doors creaked open. All four of the Blitzkrieg Boys turned to see who was entering their freshly assembled elimination zone as they called it.

Two girls, two junior high girls... Sergei Petrov smirked. He was feeling especially tall today. Ivan Papov on the other hand was feeling shorter then usually, which incread his short-temper. "You're--" He tried to start speaking, but Yuriy Ivanov held his hand up to silence him.

"Welcome." The red-head stepped forward his arms open. He let one hand rest on his hip while the other pointed towards the orange stadiums. "You two are the first to arrive. Feel free to warm up in one of the dishes. If not, you can just take a seat and wait for the others." Yuriy pointed towards the rows of chairs Sergei had set up for the students.

It was time for the special screening and Kana had gone immediately after her last class when everyone was still changing. No one was there yet. She peaked and only student council members were there. She wasn't sure yet if she would come in so she peak with one eye inside. She knew it was okay to come in as some already did but she couldn't move her body to come in.

"Umm are you here for the beyblade?"

"Yes" she said."Come again?"he asked not hearing her . She nodded instead.

"Well then no one is here yet play a little" he said directing her to some small stadium.

She was concious and just staired at it holding her old blade.

((OOC://I hope everyone knows that in Japan, students go through only three years of junior high school and three years of senior high school. Hence, anyone who is a third year in either level is considered to be part of the senior class for that particular school level.))

"Honestly, Brookly, you always do this!"

A calm laugh, and a remorseless "Okay, okay, I'll try not to do it again, Ming-ming..."

Rustling leaves, and the pop star and blader Ming-ming - the very same - forced her way through the bush; she wasn't in the mood for going back through the gap in the shrubbery she'd used earlier to find her ever-laidback teammate.

Close behind her was none other than Brooklyn Kingston, Number 1 Rookie in the BEGA Justice 5 and his respective team. Their benefactor, Balkov, was long gone now, but the team elected to keep using the name 'BEGA', even though they were now essentially under the jurisdiction, so to speak, of the BBA.

A familiar silhouette appeared at the back entrance to the large building the two bladers were heading towards.

"Come on, you two," Garland called, good-natured smile on his face. "We have to start sometime soon; the students are starting to arrive..."

-------------------------------

Kei took a deep breath, and then exhaled slowly as she sat down on one of the benches provided at the side, nearer to the walls.

No, she wasn't tired; hell, the training matches she had with Yuuko - and occassionally a few others - were a bit more... challenging than the one she'd had earlier. While she didn't doubt her ability - self-pity and self-doubt was something she tended not to entertain, though both frequently knocked on the door to her thoughts - it was still... surprising to find that she could beat someone so quickly. It had to be a fluke.

And then there was what Mizuhara-sensei - or should that be sempai? Well, whatever - had told her: that she was now in the second round of the mini-tournament and, from the look on his face, probably the first one to qualify. It had taken a few minutes for the news to sink in, and now that it did, Kei felt that she had to sit down, if only to steady herself.

She'd had some time to see how her schoolmates fared, almost cheering when she saw Yuuko defeat her opponent, but catching herself in time. The brunette only hoped she wouldn't have to fight her friend; she knew she had an advantage, having been Yuuko's 'trainer'.

It seemed scarcely a minute had passed when Takao started calling out names, five at a time. Is it time already? the amethyst-eyed teen sat up straighter, listening intently for her name...

"Saburo, Katsuda, Mikage, Tagawa, and Fujiwara!"

Kei stood up hurriedly and made her way to where Takao and Kyouju were standing; the other three members were going to oversee the different blocks - call the winners, take down scores, etc. - and then, the group finished, give the data to Kyouju. It was apparent that Team BBA's mechanic was turning his attention to the younger generation now.

"Okay, so the five of you will form Block 2B; if, by popular demand, we have to go into a semi-final and the final round, the one with the highest score among you will fight his or her counterpart from Block 2A." Kyouju instructed; it seemed he'd said all that in just one breath - quite a feat, really, considering what he had to say.

One by one, the members of Block 2B nodded their assent... then Kei caught the eye of one of them, and nearly gasped.

It was Mikage Chiaki, the one girl in her class whom she had never liked, only because Chiaki herself made it very clear she didn't like Kei. At first, the brunette thought it was a simple rivalry thing - which is was, fundamentally - but for Chiaki, it was apparently, much more than beating her.

Great... the girl groaned inwardly when she took in the rest of the group. The other three - all male - were the bullies of the year. Strange how even in junior high there were still bullies. Kei knew because, just as Chiaki had been at her, she and Katsuda - the leader - had been at each other's throats. Kei was too much of a 'goody two-shoes' and got in his way defending the students he Katsuda and his lackeys chose to bully for the day.

I don't know if today's my lucky day or not.. the brunette puffed out, blowing her bangs from out of her eyes. Still, she wasn't one to back down from a challenge - it was clear what all four wanted - and so she followed them over to the stadium no doubt assigned for the group, grip tightening on her launcher in anticipation...

"Okay, everyone," Takao began, looking at his list and writing down the five students' names on the small whiteboard - where had that come from?! - near the dish Block 2B would be using for the second round. "We're going to draw straws to see who goes first, and then I'll randomly select succeeding opponents. It'll be a 'replace-the-loser' thing, meaning whoever wins keeps playing until they're defeated. At the same time, as Chief already said, we'll be doing a round-robin for this round; everyone gets a chance to fight everyone else, and we don't end until everyone's done. Got that?"

When all five nodded in assent, the steel blue-eyed blader went on. "So... the point system. If both of you stop spinning at the same time, or knock each other out, or whatever constitutes a tie, you each get one point." He paused and wrote down 'tie = 1pt.' on the board. "Then, if you outlast your opponent - you stop spinning after him or her - you get two points..." - writing again - "and, if you knock them out, that's three points right there. There will be three rounds to a match, meaning you can earn a maximum of nine points per match, and 36 if - for unearthly reasons - you beat everyone else."

Light, polite laughter, with glances at the other participants. Kei couldn't mistake the look on her fellow students' faces; each one very much wanted to have those 36 points and advance to the coveted spot among the Top Four. And the brunette was sure none of them would 'mince words' - so to speak - when it came time to battle her.

Oh, who the hell cares? she thought, attaching her slightly customized Dranzer to her launcher, muffling the click! it made when the apparatus gripped the top securely. She was lost in thought, planning her strategies based on her observation of their different personalities, when they drew straws. Then she looked down at her 'selection'.

Damn. It was the short one, meaning she'd go first. Kei glanced up. Whoever got the other shortest straw would be her opponent; amethyst eyes roamed the small circle... and caught Katsuda's eye. The bigger teen smirked, holding his straw up for her to see, and the brunette cursed again. This was not lost on their referee, who smiled upon seeing the first two opponents had been identified.

"Okay, so the first round is Katsuda Shigeo against Fujiwara Kei! Step up to the dish, guys; the rest of you, stand back a little so you won't get hit by flying objects..." The three other students complied; Katsuda and Kei faced each other from across the dish.

"Nice blade, kid," Takao said to Kei in a half-whisper; it was not lost on him that this determined-looking teen was using a commercial version of his captain's old Beyblade. Considering the other blades out on the market, it was apparent the Dranzer F had proved reliable in many a battle, hence the slightly younger girl's attachment to it. Addressing both bladers now, he went on. "Bladers ready?" Again, silent nods, and he grinned again. "All right then. 3...2...1... go, shoot!"

Miki looked at Diana with widened eyes. Not everyone knows Russian so why would she used it to someone they didnt know? She hoped they got a translator from one of their group or Diana might just start cursing up a storm to them.

"Good job, Taichi!"

Unlike most Japanese, even in modern society - less traditional as it was - Max wasn't inclined to use the honorifics, nor could he be bothered with conventions of address. If he knew someone's first name, that was what he used; otherwise, he addressed people by their last name. He knew he could be excused - he was half-American, after all - but still. Back to the training program...

The blond turned briefly to mark down the copper-haired teen's score after his first match - a fair five points out of a nine-point match - and then back to the group.

"Any volunteers to go next?" he asked.

Taichi couldn't help smiling. This Mizuhara Max seemed pretty laidback about this whole training thing, like it was something he did every day, something of a hobby. The aqua-eyed teen was smiling because, aside from liking his group's referee, he had just won his first match, despite his slackening in training.

"Ah, thank you!" Max suddenly interjected, motioning for the others to make room as someone stepped nearer to the dish: Taichi's next opponent. "Hmm... Itoe Yuuko, right?" the blue-eyed blader asked, to which the girl nodded in reply.

"All right then..."

-------------------------------

"Ooh! Ouch!" Takao commented, wincing slightly as Katsuda's gray blade clattered out of the dish, the attack ring snapped in half. "Do you two, like, hold a grudge against each other or something?"

No one spoke, and the brunet cleared his throat before turning to write the score on the board: 'Fujiwara - 7pts'; twice, the girl had outlasted her opponent, and then she'd knocked him out in less than a minute during the third round. Nice...

Wordlessly, Kei retrieved her blade, attaching it once more to her launcher in preparation for the next match. She stood there, the picture of serenity as she waited for Takao to decide whom she should go up against next. The brunette didn't have to wait long...

"Okay, Saburo, you're up," the dragon-wielder instructed, taking two steps away from the dish as the bigger of Katsuda's lackeys stepped up. Kei eyed his blade - a pale blue number with four defense/attack wings protruding from the attack ring. It shouldn't be too hard to defeat this guy... she thought, going into her launching stance once more.

Yuriy had to admit he was a bit surprised. He didn't expect a junior high student to know how to speak Russian. Raising his eyes brows, the red-head smirked.

"Yuriy Ivanov." He replied, hands on his hips.

The one on the left seemed a little antsy. As if she didn't want to be here or she was too cocky for her own good. Though if she was a good blader, then he could look past the cockiness. The other girl he wasn't able to read anything by her emotions. She seemed like a regular rookie, but he could be wrong.

Diana gave a horrified look as Yuuriy announced his name. She knew for a moment that a certain blue-haired girl will be jumping for joy. On the other hand, Miki was trying to stop her body from jumping and whooping in the air. Her crush was her trainer! Now this was a real challenge. Impress him and get on the team. Alot of people tend to look down on her since she looked like a rookie but Hell they will stare with opened jaws once they see her battle.

Diana managed to compose herself and introduced herself to him. She still doesnt trust the guy even if he and his team were in the news and papers and all. Using her language, she said "menya zavout Diana, Diana Murphy"(My name is Diana, Diana Murphy)"ochin priyatna"(It's nice to meet you). She then pointed to Miki who she briefly knew was yelling inside her mind."Eto gavarit Miki Fubuki"(This is Miki Fubuki).
Miki gave a curt nod and said "zdravstvuyte kak dela?" (How do you do?)

Sorry if i confuse you icey for my russian obsession.

"Okay, everyone!"

All twenty students and the four trainers more or less halted what they were doing and looked at the bespectacled researcher as he called for their attention. There was a clack! as someone's blade was knocked out of the dish, but that was all.

"No doubt each group has gone through two or three matches already, right?" Murmurs of agreement passed through the 'crowd', and Kyouju took this as a sign to go on. "I think it would be best if we took a short break, give those who've been battling straight - if there are any - a chance to 'catch their breath', so to speak. This is also a good time for the trainers to correct any mistakes in noting their scores and such. Would five minutes be enough? All right then..."

Over at Block 2B's area, Takao glanced at the makeshift scoreboard, and then excused himself. Without looking back, he made his way to the central platform and Kyouju, trying to keep a straight face while doing so. Apparently, it wasn't enough, because the mechanic-researcher looked up and instantly asked "What is it, Takao?"

Instantly, steel-blue orbs sparked with excitement, and the round, open face seemed to be split in two for the grin that suddenly appeared. "I think I've already spotted one of our 'Top 4 Bladers', Chief," the dragon blader replied, fairly dancing with excitement but containing it well.

"What makes you say that, bud?" Max put in, having joined the 'discussion' just as Takao replied to the mousy-haired teen's question. Takao fidgeted a bit, unsure of how to put his next reply.

"Well... she's got a pretty good launch - for a rookie, I mean - and out of three matches, she hasn't lost; she's up to 22 points out of 36 now."

"Wow!"

"Shhhh!" Kyouju admonished, looking slightly worried. "We can't show the students that we're getting excited over any one of them in particular; it's favoritism."

"I know, Chief, but I can't help it!" Max was still grinning. "That girl sounds pretty good, given her rank and everything." The blond turned to Block 2B's referee. "There are 2 girls in the block you're working with, right, Takao?" At the answering nod, Max went on. "So, which one is it?"

"Fujiwara."

Genbu's partner looked thoughtful. "Hmm... that's the same girl who beat her opponent faster than anyone else in the first round, isn't it? Unless there's another student named 'Fujiwara' -"

"Nope, she's the only one," Kyouju offered, scanning the list quickly.

"Cool!"

-------------------------------

Kei spared only the barest of glances at the Team BBA members who'd gathered at the central platform. She was in a hurry to get away from the murderous glares being sent her way by Katsuda, Saburo, and Tagawa. All three, she'd beaten in her past three matches, and soundly. But now, the brunette felt that she needed another drink; she was getting excited at having not lost match so far, but she knew that too much excitement would compromise her focus, and so she'd decided to head once more for the water fountain. The walk would do good in calming her down, if nothing else.

Yuriy nodded towards Diana and Miki. He then snapped his fingers, which signaled Bryan and Spencer to pull out their beyblades and gun-like launchers. "Since you are the only two here, I will evaluate your skills first. Diana will battle Bryan and Miki, you will beybattle Spencer. Pick any dish you like, and begin when ready." The red-head was too lazy to reply in Russian, plus he didn't feel it necessary. They were beneath him, therefore he would speak to them like so.

Bryan and Spencer waited for the girls to pick a dish.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2007 6:58 pm

"Radost' moya"(Joy...) Diana replied sarcastically and just decided to walk to a dish. It was the standard one while Miki just went to another standard dish. Diana pulled out a black launcher and stuck her beyblade with a clack. Her eyes shone no emotion as she just watched as Bryan readied himself. Miki just simply took out her blue launcher and connected her beyblade on. She didnt have the same killer look as Diana but her eyes shown no fear. Diana said "udachi"(Good luck..) She pointed her launcher at the dish and muttered the last part "you'll need it..." she almost said it in a tone no one heard her, not noticing her red eyes were now even more growing into a darker shade as she continue to focus. While Miki on the other hand, gave the same stance but her eyes was blank. In fact her whole expression was! No one will underestimate her. Nobody..not even if that person happens to be the guy who is a teammate of the guy she had a crush on...

Kana became nervous as the some other people came. It was about to start and she wasn't even ready. She pointed her blade to the stadium and pulled her launcher closing her eyes consious of other people.

Her blade landed almost out of the dish. She didn't know what to do then she was the only one on that small stadium. Both of her hands covered her mouth is nerviousness.
'Should I have been here in the first place?' She asked herself wanting to play but has no confidence to.

The two battles were over in a matter of seconds. Either Spencer and Bryan were being too easy on them, or these girls were really good. Yuriy could tell from their launches that both of them had a good amount of power, but he didn't expect two of his players to be beaten so easily by a bunch of girls. He wasn't sexist or anything; he just thought it was humiliating to loose to female bladers.

"I have to admit... I'm highly impressed, but now... Now you'll have to fight me." The red head was smirking. The girls may have beaten Bryan and Spencer but Yuriy would be different. There was no way he was going to show any mercy to his opponent no matter what sex they are. If they were going to be on the team, the females would have to show him something amazing. Something that would blow him away.

"Ready?" Yuriy was still smirking as he took out his launcher and silver beyblade.

Kei stayed out of the gym for nearly five minutes, clearing her mind. It wouldn't do to worry about something she couldn't change - namely how others felt about her and how these feelings carried over into other areas of the 'relationship'.

She glanced at her watch and saw that the break was nearly over, so she pushed open the great double doors and, gaze downward - not out of cowardice, mind you - made her way back to Block 2B's assigned stadium; no doubt the others were gathered there, having never left.

"Feeling tired already, Fujiwara?"

The familiar slightly-bored and don't-play-games tone made the brunette look up, amethyst orbs widening slightly when she'd confirmed her thoughts.

Kai.

Hiwatari Kai was standing where Takao had just minutes ago. Minute glances at who stood around the dish he faced told Kei that she had been heading in the right direction. That being proven, the girl wanted to know why Takao and Kai had switched referee assignments, but didn't ask. Instead, she stood as tall as she knew how, her jaw set.

"No, I'm not, Hiwatari-sensei; do we start the next battle now?"

Kai shook his head, his crimson gaze briefly settling on Katsuda, and then Mikage. "Not yet, Fujiwara; give the others a chance to earn points."

No, he was not being kind, nor condescending. Before he judged the brunette as being a 'good' blader, he needed to see what her opponents were like, and that entailed having them battle; hence, Kei was out of the picture for now.

"Matsuda, Saburo, you two are up. Get to it," the slate-haired teen was not one to mince words, and as his teammates already knew, he didn't care if others found him 'harsh and unforgiving'. With a critical eye, he watched as the two boys faced each other from across the dish, both in their own battle-ready stances.

While she found it strange that she be excused for the time being, Kei didn't react, didn't show anything save interest in the battle that was about to commence. She stood a few feet away from the dish, opposite Kai, head slighly cocked to the side as she observed. Then, the countdown began...
