I know the point of this is to be funny...but honestly? I don't think I can do a comic take on something like this...I don't know why.

Dear Mai:

Of all that I am leaving behind, all that I may never see again, all that I may be forced to help distroy, you, us, what we had is the only thing I will miss. I can't say our time together was the best time of my life, because thus far, my life has really had no best time. Perhaps if we could be together and each be true to ourselves, then we would be the couple we always dreamed of being. Yet, what I must do to be true to myself is something I would never dream of asking of you. I am going to help the Avatar.

The next time we see eachother, we will be enemies again. I won't be able to tell you then, so I will now. No matter how fiercely I fight on that day, I won't want to. You were all I truly had this past few months, and for that I will always think of you fondly. I'm now riding Blimp Granada
The royal scene, it has been fun
But I'm changing sides so now I have to run.

Someone left me a little note
I would repeat it, but I can't quote
It lead me to some ancient scrolls
They showed me that our past is really full of holes

I often saw Uncle Iroh
We escaped when we weren't pyro
Oh the guards there were down and done
You'd better watch your back for Iroh's army of one.

I'm leaving home, I've had enough
This decision was really tough
But something recent's why I abandon
Cause I saw dad trying to make Trozai canon

It really has been the last straw
I'll beat you both and burn you raw
You can't tempt me with fiery pretties
I'd rather not come home and sing along with hippies

Also show this to dearest Mai
Tell her it was just one big lie.
The man that she loved, that wasn't me.
And let's just say the girl I love will make the fangirls squee.

Oh I'm gonna hang out with Aang
Momo, Hawkey, yes the whole Gaang.
I wonder how long until I die
Will I get the chance to even tell them "hi"?

I'm gonna join the Avatar
It's retribution for my scar
Eye for an eye, ha that's better

Dear Mai,
I've come to a decision, and you've help me get there. I'm sad to say I've done some things I'm not proud, that may haunt me for the rest of my life. I've made some bad choices and now I've come to see them for what they really are. Ever since Mother vanished my life hasn't been a very happy one, it seems like there were so few people who really cared for me. You were one of them, you always have. As much as the choice I'm about to make hurts, I feel it's the right one, I just wish I could take you with me.

I can't tell you where I'm going, or what I'm planning, but I want you to know that no matter where I may wander, my heart stays with you. I fear we may be enemies after this, I fear we may have to fight each other someday. And as much as I wish it weren't so, it is and I must face this too if I'm to go on. Keep safe, Mai. Even if we hurt each other, if we have to fight, if we have to abandon one another, I want you to stay safe anyways. I know you already know this, but watch out for Azula. She's the most dangerous person out there and you have to keep close to her. But whatever happens, know that this is the Truth.
