Yeah, I agree with Magni Prime. Personality-wise, they grow up. Perhaps this physically affects their body? It's just that the change is so small, in the time-span we get a show, it's never seen.

Alpha Trio, being a kajillion and a half years old, has a really, really, REALLY old spark, which makes hi body look old. Of course, this is just an opinion.

As for reproduction: yes, construction. At this time anyway. In the comics, there was something known as 'Budding' which is pretty much asexual reproduction. Primus stopped it after he figured there were enough Cybertronians out there and to not stretch his soul out too much.

In the sense of construction, that makes WheelJack the father of the Dinobots, as he was also their programmer. he just sucks at programming compaired to Vector Sigma.

I would say constructions. Megatron created Contructicons, Ultra Magnus created Metroplex, Grimlock created Computron, Wheeljack created Dinobots, Vector Sigma did some creating too and who can forget Alphatrion's creation of Optimus, even though it was through "aging" of Orion Pax. Those instances say they made them.

The question is how come they made so many males and not females and only selected few gets a boyfriend. From Elita and Optimus we can see there is some sort of "loving" going on. There is also an episode where Elita and Optimus was... joined?!? I don't know if that is considered Autobot sex. So the gay theory is possible. I mean who's Megatron's other half then lol.

In terms of age, I think they do age and then they "evolve". At some point their forms "change" like how Orion becomes Optimus and how Hot Rod becomes Rodimus. I think Elita also did that kind of change. But I don't think we ever see that evolution part. It's more like "voila a new body".

That is true but the 4 girls that were in Cybertron kicked Megatron's a** so I don't think that is valid considering they fought better than Ironhide, Inferno, Powerglide (and one more I forgot who lol). So I think the gay theory is more likely lol.

Ok no more push for that theory mrgreen but you are right the cartoon is filled with plot holes. Does anyone recall how the new series bought about their history? Like in all the new stuff they mention the "Ancients" etc. Did they ever mention how they came to be? Just wondering because I haven't been following anything after Beast Wars.

The women and men can reproduce like humans- this is my theory.
Now, Megatron wanted all women killed so the Allspark would be the only way to reproduce more robots. That means that the women would be able to produce more robots- in an implyed human like fashion. But there are other ways, so there was no actual reason to kill off females if men can do it by themselves (EX Soundwave and his cassettes)

Personally I can see both happening but much to the dismay I'm sure what others would say I would say that they "make" robots more often.

Here's a thought..I'm sure it's not correct, but I'll throw it out there.
Perhaps the transformers have an 'organic' attribute to them via nanos. In this sense you may make the argument that the Allspark activated nano-bots within the transformer's systems to repair them and also that they could 'make' new transformers this way as well?

Though this is true, there has to be something that is to the Autobots as the Allspark is to the Decepticons...However, you do have to take into account that after he did take the Allspark he was able to speak. So technically he was repaired.
