and you should dial down a notch on the spell damage items, you only need about 150 spell damage to hold aggro well, replace some of the items which have spell damage to ones without and you'll have much better defence stats. my prot pala only has like 107 spell damage and i hold aggro very well (mainly because i have a high dps weapon to make up for lack of spell damage) and im still always about 20k aggro above everyone else at the very least which is enough.

The reason I have so much spell damage is to let the DPS open up RIGHT AWAY. I front a lot of threat pulling with Avenger's, and I've got Sun Eater with +20 strength enchanted on it for when I've dropped a couple consecrates and my aggro is soaring, then I break that bad boy out and mitigate more.

It's easy to maintain aggro with that much spell damage, since that's what Paladin tanks do the best. Maintain and hold aggro.

Yes I'm ret. Yes I 5 man with this spec. Yes, on the rare chance that I raid, I raid with this spec.

I go ret because I don't group a lot, and I am well aware of the sentiment about ret. Even post 2.3 patch, that sentiment is still around because of all the lolretn00bs that have dusted off any ret gear that they rolled on as holy or prot in groups and have NO ******** CLUE how to properly play as a ret pally. Tangent over.

I still need to work on my AP BADLY. My crit rate is good as is, but in a couple of weeks when S1 comes out, everything will be going up because I'll be able to purchase the shoulders and the helm (and if I'm lucky the hands) right as the patch gets done downloading. =D

And yeah i know my gear sucks, and yes i am a cheap mother ******** that doesn't wanna pay for blue gems or enchants.
