"We should be able to persist, so long as mortals believe, no?" Xuan mused then, picking up slightly on Kheviel's musings along the same vein. "Perhaps a second prong, aside our own fork for the Twin Crown is to see the mortals themselves... see if any can be inspired or hold true still. Times have changed, yes... this much is evident from my host alone, but ..."
Kheviel took an advantage of the pause. "I know there has to be faithful still in this day, even with or without you guys still around. Sorry for the frankness but... I know even before Xuan happened I still held some reverence. I was never open about it, but still! What about the mortals still actually believing? Even if too many are too young to do much about it..."
He lulled into a silence, losing where he wanted to go precisely. But... the gods needed mortals, this was clear. There had to be some mortals still looking. Perhaps the joining of an effort to do sometyhing about Harmodius AND get the mortals rallied and give them hope? Something along those lines...
You have a point... we cannot protect everyone or everything, but an infusion of faith may help at least somewhat. If not for Him, then for some of the others who can help us. Maybe...
Xuan gave a slight sigh and shifted. "I will seek him out as soon as I can.. is there anything I should be aware about the Twin Crown when I present myself?"

"Some do believe," Tian Yue said, smiling, thoughts of Penny immediately coming to his mind. "I have one follower myself - only the one, so far, but she is clever and bright in her belief. She has come to the Pantheon before - but I have warned her away for now. Though she met Desiderio before, I fear should she meet an unpleasant deity. Still, she is mine." He lifted his chin a bit, pleased. "So there is still the ability to believe, to turn to the gods in dark times rather than to blame."
The other question... he looked thoughtful. "He is wild," he said, finally. "But I do not believe I need to caution Qian Lung about matters of respect and courtesy. These things you know."

Xuan Yi gave a chortle at the last words from the fellow Dragon. "Aye, I do, Tien. I do... but knowledge is power, and knowing what I am walking into helps. Surprises are never plesant..."
The dragon grew slightly pensive. "As for unplesant deities, one could have such a run-in anywhere I am afraid. They do not all reside here, for better or worse. And for reasons all their own." A slight snort, and shake of the head followed the words. "I can think of one at least who wants nothing to do with the presence of Destruction, but that was her own doing." A shrug then.
"I take it we shall all convene - as many of us as there are - as soon as we are all 'found' again?"

"Indeed, though I would seek our Lord sooner, so he knows you are here. He may well have a task for you, or simply find his heart eased by the knowledge that another of his dragons are well. He cares for us," Tian Yue said, simply.

"As we for him," Xuan said.
All for one and one for all, Kheviel mused to himself.
And what does that mean? Xuan asked, uncertain of what the mortal meant. And was answered with silence. Rather then press the matter the dragon addressed the other there.
"Perhaps I've enough of a mind after a rest to seek him today if possible, if not then within the week if I can manage."

"I am sure it will be his joy to see you well," Tian Yue said, with a grin. "Do you happen to know where any of our other siblings might be? Zhijian I know, Futs Lung was not yet embodied last I heard, the others... are proving difficult."

Xuan gave a pause, thinking. "No, not offhand... nor does Kheviel, far as I can tell, but if you'd like us to keep an eye and ear out, we can." The dragon spent a moment playing with one pointed ear in further thought. "Three of how many? I hope there are more then just us... it would be odd otherwise. But then how many gods have been scattered to the winds in the far corners..."
A quick headshake. "I am sure somehow we can bring ourselves together again."

"Nine," Tian Yue said, quietly, then bowed and came back up with a smile. "It has been a pleasure seeing you again, my... sibling. If you should ever seek me, simply come to my chambers, or send a servant or friend. My Aoide is usually present even when I am not."

Xuan gave a mirthful chuckle at the word sibling, bemused far too much inwardly for Kheviel's comfort. "I shall keep it in mind, should I find another, or simply need the company." The dragon gave a once over of the host's body and sighed slightly. "Before I do anything more a quick bathing would probably do wonders. Particularly before seeing our Lord again."
I am not that dirty! Kheviel protested. Aside, what was with that laughing?
