Suddenly, in the center of the opening, where everyone could see it, a shadow appeared, and began taking shape, until a ghost-like figure of a tall, black-bearded man in purple robes stood before them. He spoke, looking straight forward, like he didn't see them. His voice was loud and clear, yet strangely fearful.
"Hello, Earthlings, welcome to Mylen. Worry not about your new forms; they are necessary. I am the one who brought you here, and I did so because both this and your world are in danger. You are our last hope to bring Knarl down."
He sighed, his eyes downcast. "I have little time, so I won't waste it. Follow the river to the North, you will find villages. Don't reveal your identities, for your own safety. And take the locket - it will guide future Earthlings to you. Do not ask me what to do, I myself do not know. I hope time will unravel that..."
And, just like that, the figure was gone in the mist.

Namine saw all of the other people trying to make sense of what was going on. She was obviously not going to get any help from them. They seemed to be as confused as she was and dealing with their own transformations. Namine felt the strange urge to dip herself in the water. She dragged herself into it. Ah this feels quite nice but I can't stay in here forever. I need to be able to get around. I need to be able to walk on legs. Her tail jerked as something began to happen. Namine's eyes widened as a light spread from her fins and up her torso. It lifted her gently and started to change her. Her fin split chaging itself into slender legs. Light armor covered her arms and legs and silk the color of blood covered her body. Her hair had changed from the texture it had before to her previous long red locks. In her hair she found trinkets made to seem as such, but which were actual weapons. Sharp needles and daggers. When she was set down her appearance from mermaid to human was drastic. All that remained were the pointed ears that protruded slightly from her hair. Namine made her way to the group. She hoped someone knew what was happening. Suddenly a figure appeared and explained the strange occurence. But what did he mean by the two worlds in danger. This has to be a dream, she thought, im dreaming about a freaking game. Namine pinched herself and came to the realization that she was wrong.

Anne stared at those who fled the sun quizzically. She was standing in the sun herself, and it didn't cause her any harm. On the contrary, the warmth felt better than it had ever felt.
"I don't think it's the sun...maybe it's you..." She was interrupted by the appearance of the figure. She heard the man, and found herself even more confused. What did all of that mean?

Liam held out his hand to the sun to find it strangely uncomfortable. It did burn, as the cat boy had stated. He wondered why was the girl not affected; but then again, she looked quite fiery herself.
The boy was about to reply to her when the figure appeared, leaving him amazed. What is an hologram? No, it seemed more...real than that. When the figure disappeared, he couldn't contain himself, and walked to where it had stood. On the floor, there stood a gold locket with strange inscriptions on it. "Is this the locket he was talking about?"

J.J thought about it for a moment.
"Maybe..."
He replied with a small sigh as he looked around at the others, curious to know, also, what the figurre meant.

"How in the world am I suppose to know? I'm practically blind!" Nikol snorted. She hated not being able to see. It made her feel useless.

"It's possible... And as for the light I think it does have something to with us. I mean like our forms." She turned to Jake and Nikol. "You two are like dark angels or somn of the like... And me? Well I'm practically carryin a coffin on my back..." Her voice trailed off and she laughed. This was all hysterical.

Namine moved closer to the crowd and stared at the locket the guy was holding. "So you're telling me we've been brought here somehow, transformed into this, and were suppoesd to save both our world and this world. Excuse me but it sound like im stuck in a final fantasy video game. Not to mention he wasn't to clear as to how were supposed to do this." Namine sighed. She wondered why exactly she was chosen for this. She could have been finishing her self portrait instead of dealing with all this fantastical nonsense. But im not the only one here who is as confused. Everyone must be suffering internally trying to figure out what to do next. She rubbed her temples thinking that there must be a method to this insanity. "Im Namine..Namine De L' Cor. Former artist in France and now by all appearances a mermaid. It seems a good idea for us to cooperate with each other in order to find out the whole truth and our purposes here." She stared at the people around her wondering what each would choose to do.

Anne smiled at the girl's reference of videogames; it was exactly how she felt. She was still stressed beyond measure, but her cold survival instincts were beginning to take over.
"So, all of us here are from Earth, right? I am Anne, from Paris, Chemistry student par excellence." She bowed slightly. "So...shall we follow the directions of the mysterious ghost figure?"

Seeing as no one was noticing him or the small piece of gold, Liam put it around his neck. The directions could have ome from a unnamed ghost figure, but they were the only ones they had. "Any other suggestions?" He asked the group, joining in "I am Liam, from Quebec. A photographer."

"Do I have any homework?" Timmy asked. His friend and locker-partner, Will, sighed behind him.
"How would I know what homework you have?! We have like, two of the same classes!"
Timmy grinned and grabbed his math book and English book. "I usually have these two so we'll just take them and see." He turned around and slammed the locker closed with his foot. Him and Will shrugged their packs on and walked out of the crowded school onto the steps outside, leading down into beautiful school courtyard.
"So, got anything planned this weekend?" Timmy asked Will. Will opened his mouth to answer, but Timmy never heard the response. He suddenly felt dizzy and stumbled. He tried to stay up but couldn't and plummeted down toward the marble stairs. He shut his eyes... and shut his eyes... and... OK, where's the big hit? He still felt like he was falling, but where was the-

-----

"Oof!" Ah, there's the ground. But it was soft and wet... like grass. But that wasn't possible. He opened his eyes and bent his head to look forward. Through the veil of grass, he could see a few people moving around and talking. He could have sworn one had wings, and one was a mermaid. Well that's weird, he thought idly, still not quite believing enough to get up. He blew a string of yellow hair out of his face, which simply fell back insufferably. Wait... yellow hair? That, more than anything, finally made him stand up. He looked down at himself and ran his hands over his clothes, which were brown and dark red with a lot of buckles that he wasn't sure was useful. He touched a buckle and put his hand back as a bit of static shock pricked him. He tried again with the same results. Ooookay... weird... this is one weird dream. I wonder if I'm in a coma or somethin'? Well it's interesting, so lets not try to wake up yet...

Timmy walked over to the group of people who were talking about somethin'. "Hey!" he said brightly. "What's up, dream-people?"

Namine nodded in agreement to all that was being said. For now they would have to work together after that who knows. Namine turned as a new addition to the group came into view. He seemed to think this was a dream as the rest of them did at first. Namine couldnt control herself and laughed out loud. "Oh my don't we all wish it was a dream mon cher. But trust me when I say it is not." Namine then turned her attentions back to Liam "Liam is there anything else besides the locket or does the locket hold anything interesting withing it?" Namine hoped there were more clues than the vague description the figure provided. "If not we shall all have to move towards that town. And if I recall correctly we are to keep our identities a secret which leads me to believe someone is aware of our presence and is searching for us. This could prove to be dangerous for all of us." Namine looked around and worry set in. It was quite a lot of them and wouldn't their travelling together be suspicious enough. "We have to figure something out. All of us travelling together is suspicious enough as it is. Any suggestions?"

Timmy listened to the mermaid-girl talk and slowly raised an eyebrow. For one, she had a French accent, but as far as he could tell was speaking Chinese. Secondly: Not a dream, huh? he thought. That's just what a dream-person would s- His thoughts were interrupted as he accidentally touched his buckles and got shocked again. Got to remember not to touch those things. That kind of hurt!
... Wait... weren't things not supposed to hurt in dreams? He took a deep breath. He had to admit, this didn't feel like any dream he'd ever had before.
Alright... I'm a rationally guy. Maybe it's not a dream. Doubt wanted to argue with him some more, but bottom line was: he was here, he'd have to deal with it.

Timmy walked over to the girl who looked the most normal ((Anne)). In mock whisper he asked, "Um... what's going on?"

Star held her tray in one hand, and the cordless phone in the other. "Yes, mom. I'll make sure Louis doesn't stink up the lou again. Cheers!" Star said, clicking the phone off. She headed over to the nearby table and placed the cofee on the table. Unfortunatly, her boots were quite large and high, so In turnng, Star tripped. She expected the usual thud of thwe floor, and the laughter followed, but didn't recieve it. Instead, Star landed on wet, soft, grass. "Uhh...this is a new blouse too...." Star groaned, before standing up, and expecting to brush off the dirt from her shirt, only to find her hand a different colour, AND new clothes. "What the frig?" Sar said, looking around. There were other peoplehere too. Correction, things. Not people. Star glanced downward, only to see weapons. "Sweetness." Star said. Then, the sun started bothering her. "Why is the sun soooo bright?" Star asked.

Liam had heard Namine and was closely inspecting the locket. It was heavy, and no matter how many times he tried, he couldn't open it. The inscriptions around it seemed Runic, and were totally incomprehensible.
"I don't think we'll have any luck with this..." He put the piece down, and eyed the newcomer just as a girl thumped to the floor not too far away. It was starting not to surprise him.

Anne opened her mouth to answer the new boy when the girl appeared a bit further away. It was actually starting to get annoying. Even though she didn't realize it, her eyes began to darken to a deep amber tone. She felt her hands heat and stared at them, dismayed. She had the feeling it wasn't just her clothings that were different.
"No one of us really knows. We were going about our life when we found ourselves here, one by one. So far, there is no relation between any of us that can explain it. A ghost-like figure appeared and rambled about we being in a new world and having to save the day. I, for one, am still waiting to wake up. I have a test tomorrow, I have to study!" She spoke loud and clear enough for the girl to hear also; if she had to repeat any of it again, she'd loose it for sure.

((I am off to bed. You can start searching for the river, if you want; it's about 200meters away in the direction of Namine's small pool of water. Tip: follow the sound.))

“Ah! Kiyoko, there you are! Thank God, someone who knows what they’re doing.” A large man said as Kiyoko rushed into the office. Her blond hair blew behind her as she quickly put on the little blue Toys R Us Staff vest. “S-sorry I’m late sir! I-” she started to say as she was putting on the vest in a hurry, but he cut her off kindly. “Don’t worry about it; I’ll let it go this once, since you’re rarely ever late, and you have college to worry about. Now, you can start by helping a mother of two out there; the moron that’s out there now can’t tell the difference between a Cabbage Patch Kid and a My Little Pony doll!” he said, with sort of vengeance in his voice. After the vest was on correctly (for in her hurry, Kiyoko had put it on backwards!) the two went to the front desk.

There was a worker with various piercing on her body, trying to comprehend what a mother was telling her; there were to little girls looking around while holding their mother’s hands, trying to help, but not succeeding. It was slightly chaotic. The two staff walked over towards them. “Ah! Sorry about the wait, Mrs. This girl should be able to help you out!” he said, although he didn’t leave. This was making Kiyoko nervous; she hated this kind of pressure, and she could feel the other girl’s stare of death pierce into her. “What is it I can help you with, Mrs.?” she asked the lady.

“I’m looking for……what’s it called again?” she pulled out a piece of paper, but the girls beat her to it. “It’s a Princess Bike!” they answered in unison. “The one with some sort of feature, I forgot what it was…….some talking voice thing when you push the handle button. And it came in two colors…..” the mother began to say again.

Kiyoko snapped her fingers, finally knowing what they were talking about before the woman could finish. “Ah! You mean the new Fairy Princess bike. That comes in either red or blue, and it has those features where they usually call out random stuff from the show. Seriously, girls, you gotta be a bit more specific.” she joked to the girls, hoping that the woman wouldn’t get angry; the kids nodded in agreement at Kiyoko‘s statement. In fact it was quite the opposite of Kiyoko‘s fears. “That’s right! It was fairy princess, I forgot about that. Do you know where it is?” she said, looking rather relieved. Her boss looked liked he was staring at Moses back from the grave, and the other girl looked mortified. Kiyoko led them to the bike isle, where there were plenty of the bike she mentioned. They were on a very high shelf, though.
She couldn't comprehend much of what happened next. She had gotten out hte machine used to reach high places, which was pretty much a ladder. Upon trying to get one of the boxes down, she felt something break; it was the step of the ladder. She could hear herself scream and fall, but surpsingly, she didn't hit with impact just yet. She seemed to float for awhile, before falling to the ground.
-------------------------------------------------------------
For awhile, she lay there only half consious. It wasn't long until she noticed someting was different; she could tell she was outside, which means she wasn't in the store anymore. She opened her eyes immediately; she was right, it was a woods of some sort. She got up slowly, and looked at herself. She gasped; she was wearing some sort of frilly fancy dress, long sleeved and more dressy than what most normal people wear. She felt something move on her head, and began to panic. She slowly put her hands on her head, and cried out in surprise. There were ears; but of what? She looked into a puddle of water beside her....

It was as if she was looking at a doll; it couldnt be her, it couldn't! The puddle showed a girl with long blue hair, with matching blue eyes. The ears she was questioning earlier were cat ears; black cat ears! She was wearing a black flowered hairband in her hair, and she then realized she was holding something; a toy panda. She looked at the actual thing in confusion, what was this doing here? WHAM! She felt something fall on her head and hit the ground. Whimpering in a cat like sound (which she then covered her mouth in horror), she looked beside her. It was a beautifully carved staff, with a shining blue orb at the top. Below it was a cross with wings; it was a beautiful thing.

"Wait...where in the world am I?" she remembered in horror, and stood up immediately. She wasn't used to the dress being up to her neck, so she pulled at it a bit at the neck to loosen it. She also noticed that there were no voices; she was alone. "H-hello?" she called out timidly, clutching the staff and panda for dear life. Was she dreaming? It had to be; a surreal dream that was related to what was going on before. How else could there be a stuffed panda and her looking like a child's toy come to life?!

Namine ran a hand through her hair in frustration. People were literally dropping left and right. They were all humans brought here for some heroic purpose. Not only that but they were changed into mythical creatures. "I dont know about you guys but im starting to get slightly annoyed with this. Each fall brings a new member to the party and each time we explain the situation it justs makes less sense." Namine turned to look at everyone.
She was the only mermaid. She wondered how it was that each transformation was chosen for them. She didn't quite know what to make of it. One thing is for certain they needed to ally themselves to each other. Taking charge Namine speaks up "Ok I say we device a plan before moving along. We have all been brought here for the same reason. As such we should all stick together... but in the event that we become seperated we should most definetely have a back up plan. Therefore I propose we create smaller groups of 2 or 3 people. These people will stick together regardless of the situation. Problem is who wants to ally with who. Think clearly. We all possess different abilities and as such the group should have people who possess different skills. That way there will be a balance between negative and positive aspects of our transformations." That being said Namine waited for those around her to make up their minds.
