"Quick, dodge the gust with Dig!"
Ziku nodded and quickly burrowed into the ground. Dust from the attack blew across the opening to the hole.
He quietly dug a tunnel under the ground while faintly listening to the wingbeats above ground. When he thought he was under the Pidgeotto, he burst out of the ground...but surfaced behind the Pidgeotto instead of crashing into it. As he dropped back to the ground, he released a small Thunderbolt into the air, trying to hit the bird pokemon.

"Tuuuuuuurn!" Luna shouted.
Pidgeotto did so, tilting to the right to make the thunderbolt barely miss.
"Okay then, let's tear up the ground with another twister!" She shouted.
Pidgeotto's eyes glinted. He started to circle around Ziku's area, his shadow ominously hanging above Ziku. Winds started to form. Slowly, a funnel cloud decended to where Ziku was. Pidgeotto immediately broke from the twister, leaving Ziku to deal with it alone.

"Ziku, above you!"
Ziku glanced up and saw yet another twister rushing toward him. Turning to his left, he tried to run around it. Just when he thought he was free of the funnel, it caught him mid-leap and pulled him into the air. As he got higher and higher, he spotted Pidgeotto flying a little ways off. Once he was facing the same direction as Pidgeotto, he let loose a Thunderbolt toward him. The electricity suddenly broke the cyclone and Ziku fell to the ground, hitting it hard.

Pidgeotto got grazed by the lightening bolt this time. His altitude in the air dropped by at least 5 feet. "Pidgeotto, use gust to pull you back up again! Don't want to get too low!"
Pidgeotto narrowed his eyes as he pushed his aching wings harder. He was near his breaking point. Winds came towards Ziku again from Pidgeotto's wings and also served as a booster for Pidgeotto's altitude.

Ziku stood up, panting. This fight was exausting. Another gust of wind suddenly pushed him back toward the ground.
"Ziku, try to hit him before he gets too high in the air!"
He nodded and jumped toward Pidgeotto as far as he could, but the wind pushed him back down. Thinking fast, he slammed his tail onto the ground, giving him a push up. When he was close enough to Pidgeotto, he spun around and slammed his tail onto the other pokemon as hard as he could.

"Pidgeotto! Spiral down, NOW!"
Pidgeotto didn't even have the energy to respond. He just...dropped. At an alarming speed. But he DID roll over to force Ziku below him to force the pikachu to take the majority of the impact. He closed his eyes and let the action play out by itself. Maybe he'll still have some clean feathers after this battle was over...

Ziku didn't have time to react when Pidgeotto suddenly crashed down on top of him. The scratches all over him hurt, and when he tried to stand, he fell back down. He heard his trainer calling out to him before blacking out.
Kali rushed over to Ziku and lifted him up. "You crazy little guy, you wanted to get hurt like this?" she asked softly. She then looked toward Luna. "That was a close battle! Is Pidgeotto okay?"

"He's handled worse." Luna replied, taking out a ball and returning her injured pokemon. She smiled and offered a handshake. "Great battle Kali! Ziku's going to become quite a strong Raichu!"

Kali smiled back at Luna and shook her hand. "It was a great battle! Thanks! I bet your Pidgeotto will become even stronger when he evolves into a Pidgeot too!" She then began to turn toward the exit. "I'm going to run this little guy to the center now. He deserves it!" She grinned and called back to Luna. "Hope to see you again soon!"

"See you!" Luna waved. She started to head out the other exit towards the pokemon center herself. Her mind was racing with thoughts of future battles and plans. A wide smile crept up her face.
