I definetly agree with that. I mean, she didn't respond, and if that's what it would've taken for her to show she liked him, then I guess she doesn't. I also feel like this sealed the deal. I don't think Kataang has a chance now. They'll prolly talk it out later, and then Katara will say she doesn't feel the same way.

yes, i agree too. when aang kissed her, she blushed. but c'mon, if some guy friend of mine randomly kissed me, I would blush too! but she didn't run up and hug him when he came back. if fact her reaction was kinda like "hey".
the writers may be making katara play along with aang for a bit, so she won't hurt his feelings....
(c'mon ladies, how many guys have you dated but not really felt a romantic connection with, then ended it b/c of it. i've done it. i thought i'd give him a chance and maybe the feelings would come later.)
.....or b/c she was told she will marry a powerful bender (and she sees aang as her destiny) but then zuko will join the group. muhahahahhaaha. and she will see HE is a powerful bender too and we will all cheer!!

I can also see something like Katara trying to play along with it too. She does care about his feelings, so she may try to see if she can reciprocate the feeling. But in the end, I don't think it will work... Because simultaneously, we'll have Zuko in the group, and her interaction and relationship with him will also develop.
And look at how she was to Zuko in CoD! Even though they'd fought numerous times, he'd been hunting them for months, ten minutes or even less through being trapped in a cave with him, she shared a deep emotional hurt with him, and he with her, and she'd offered to heal his scar. Already, they have a very interesting relationship that is already close to friendship. and as soon as he begs for forgiveness and she decides that he's trustworthy, they'll already have that basis to start from. Like I have said before, they created a unique bond in that cave, and it is still there, even though at the moment, she feels betrayed.
But I can promise you one thing, in the next episode, The Western Air Temple, There will be some one-on-one Zuko-Katara interaction. There has to be. For one, There are only 9 episodes left now. If they are trying to set up a love triangle dynamic, they'd be doing that very quickly. I just hoping that quickly will not be the same as 'rushed' in this case. The relationships will need to be believable. Zutara has 9 episodes to develop, and the only thing I'm worried about is it seeming too thrown-in or random of a romance...But I do trust Mike and Bryan, a LOT.

just thinking about the fact that there's only 9 episodes left--i was wondering how Mike and Byran are going to fit everything in? Particulary with Zutura. Though I guess they can throw that in out of nowhere like they did with Toph's crush on Sokka (which I find it to be very cute).
I just hope that Katara won't hold a grudge against Zuko too long...or Mai getting Zuko back cause within those 5-6 episodes, it seems that they were very happy together. crying

I am SO ready for the Western Air Temple!
my predictions for the next episode (in white- spoilers!)
-When the invasion force gets put in jail, they meet up with the Kyoshi Warriors (namely, Suki). -Katara and Aang talk about that thing that made us all flinch. I bet this will happen at night, on one of the balconies at the temple. Specific, I know, but I can totally picture it being like that =] - I read in the Nick Mag special that there are more airbenders. I bet we meet up with them at the temple. I also bet Ursa will be there. And there will be a tearful reunion between her and Zuko. -No idea where the hell Iroh is. Maybe a mention?

I have some predictions on the Western Air Temple as well...In white of course^^
-The Zuko-Gaang reunion, of course, will be an explosive one. -There's got to be some Katara-Zuko interaction going on in the episode, too. At first, I think Katara will of course be angry with him and untrusting. For reasonable reasons...But as he starts to spend a little more time with them, even if the others are still very wary of him, She may feel a little more willing to reach out to him. -I still think that Ursa and the White Lotus are at this air Temple, and that Zuko will still be silently angsting over the fact that his mother is alive after all.
-I have this vision of a hooded woman approaching them all(who is in fact Ursa) and inviting them all to a game of Pai Sho. It seems like a rather random offer to the group, but Sokka and Zuko both have something click in their minds at this point: Sokka remembers the White Lotus tile that Piando gave him, and Zuko recalls his own experiences with the White Lotus. As soon as he finds out that Sokka has a White Lotus tile, Zuko insists that he use it and play the woman. Meanwhile Hoodie!Ursa smiles to herself, knowing it really is her son. Zuko sits down and places the WL tile in the center to start the gambit. Ursa: I see you favor the White Lotus Gambit. Not many cling to the ancient ways. Zuko: *grins* Those who do can always find a friend. They play, Zuko remembering how his Uncle layed the tiles out. The others are surprised and watch in silence as Zuko plays and they lay out the White Lotus shape. Ursa: *smiles* The White Lotus opens wide to those who know her secrets. *Zuko smiles* Your uncle has taught you well, Prince Zuko. Zuko: *knows something's up, his smile fading into disbleief* Ursa meanwhile, removes her hood, and smiles at her son for the first time in 8 years.(was it 8...?) Zuko: ...Mom? Gaang: *legasp-saywhat??*
Following that, I think that Katara wil be a little miffed and/or confused, since he said in CoD that his mother was gone too. She'll go looking for him to ask what the deal was, only to find him talking to Ursa, perhaps about what happened years before when she left. Zuko, of course, will be emotional, thinking only his mother is there with him, and then Katara will not only understand that he never lied to her about his mother, but she'll see that other, innocent side to him as well. And then their friendship *cough*ROmAncE*coughhack* will come a lot easier. whee Meeting Ursa will be an important part in showing the Gaang that Zuko's not like he was before. They'll be able to see the gentler side to him, something that Katara has already seen. After this, Katara may just be the first to truly call Zuko a friend. It might just happen by the end of the episode^^
Oh, yeah, and the Kataang...I can't be sure what will happen with that... Oo I don't know, maybe it won't even be addressed in this episode, there's a lot to be going on with the new Gaang-memeber, and the White Lotus, if they are there. I think the most we'll see is maybe Katara silently angsting over it. I just don't think that if Katara really doesn't return the feeling, that they'll resolve it just yet. I mean, we still have about 9 episodes for the Zuko-Katara-Aang triangle to be set up, and they're likely going for a dramatic kind of conflict. Katara will tell Aang how she really feels, but just not yet, not so soon. She may even be trying to feel out just how she does feel. I just hope there's not any more one-sided Kataang kissies, they're hurting my brain...It just doesn't fit...

Wow, Teh_Sheba, I officially love you and your in-depth predictions! Lol, hell, I love everyone's! I just can't wait to see the next eppie 'cause there'll be the girl airbenders!!! {highlight for rest of message}
Like, at the end of the 11th eleventh episode, we see Zuko flying after Gaang, but, like, do you think there might be some different outcomes because of the other non-Gaang kids? Whose... names I forgot at the moment... Oh! Teo! And... Smellerbee? Is that his name? *shruggy* sweatdrop Although there's a high chance that they'll stay with Aang and co., I think they might show some hostility towards Zuko when he meets up with them..
At any rate, discussing eps 10 & 11, the whole Kataang kiss thing totally caught me off guard! Honestly, I don't think that wasn't even the right mood for Aang to go and kiss Katara. And like everyone else said, she just stood there and took it. I still think that Katara is a mother-figure to him. For instance, in "The Runaway" Toph confronted Katara about being a mom to everyone, and when Katara asked Aang about that, he was like "yes ma'am!" Didn't that show a bit of... fear in his voice? (fear probably isn't the right word, but I suppose you guys know what I mean.)
And it's probably just my inner Tokka-fangirl-ness rising, but I sensed a bit of Tokka-ness in those eps. Lol, probably just my imagination. Though, I wanna rewatch that part where Azula talked about Suki and see how Toph reacted, even though it's kinda obvious that she has a crush on him.
Heh, the moment I saw Zuko leaving a letter on Mai's bed, I knew that was a complete opening for Zutara. Chances are, Azula and co. will end up fighting against Aang, Zuko and co. later on... At least, that's my prediction. If this does happen, most likely we'll see some tension between Mai and Zuko. And something the back of my mind is shouting out "Mai will probably say something like What about what happened on the beach?! Did that not mean anything to you? We all bonded!!! "Or... something like that... 3nodding
Lool, and one more thing! Zuko, totally, earned major brownie points for standing up to his dad. That was just amazing. He earned back my respect~

*SPOILERS AND PREDICTIONS*
I think at first Katara will be very angry and frustrated with Zuko. It won't last though... katara's too forgiving. I think in the Southern air temple, I semi-beleive what ZeDancingFlame sayed about katara and aang. But it will be katara and zuko. Katara and Zuko need to work things out, I mean especially after the crossroads of destiny. They have a lot of explaining to do. And It will be at night, under the moon. What's more peaceful, then Zutara and the moon.

my prediction at the moment.
i believe that after zuko joins gaang, they will run into ozai's angels ( i love that term, ahaha) and zuko will hesitate infront of mai and she will throw and knife at him. after that occurs, zuko will be free of mai and emotionally ready for zutara.
i really really believe mai will not stand for zuko's betrayal and will fight against him. i think she was a ploy of azula's in the first place and that she only liked dating him b/c he was a prince and had power (ordering whole trays of fruit tarts and rides "double time??" anyone?)
plus before his betrayal, wasn't zuko next in line for the throne? if she was still with him at the time that he was crowned, won't she become fire lady? its all about power, and she would have been azula's puppet and another way to control zuko (since you know, azula is second born and won't get the throne herself).

Aw, thanku! I simply have an overactive imagination. xd redface
And it's not just your imagination about the Tokka! When Azula is taunting Sokka about Suki, Toph actually saves Sokka, not once, but twice! First when he charged and Azula whipped out her knife(which I suspect she stole from Mai XD) then Toph through the rock at her and pinned her to the wall. Then when Sokka's yelling at Azula and the firebending comes back on, Toph dives onto Sokka, getting him out of the way of Azula's fire-kick! *squees at the cuteness*
I think and hope that Teo and The Duke and Haru will stay with them for a while, actually ^^ If only until they get reunited with their fathers(or Pipsqueak, in The Duke's case). I think that they'll be very unsure about Zuko. I mean, they've never actually met him, but with the others reacting to him, and the fact that he is the prince of the fire nation, yeah, they're going to be a bit suspicous of him.
Yes, Zuko standing up to his father was a GREAT thing to happen. It was inevitable, but it was awesome. It actually happened sooner than I thought it would ^^
And yeah, leaving Mai the note was a great sign that he's given EVERYTHING of his life up. Though, I agree with zukpager, he is going to need to have some finality to his breakup with Mai. I also think that something like that will happen, that it will come down to Mai and Zuko in a fight, in which Zuko doesn't attack. But Mai does. Maybe she came to the conclusion that she cares more for the current regime of the Fire Nation, maybe Azula has even manipulated her to be against Zuko. In fact, that sounds like a likely course of action. *feels another premonition coming on* Maybe in the next few episodes(hopefully not the Western Air Temple, that's for Zuzu and Gaang and Katara interaction. And Ursa, Rawr.) we'll check in with Ozai's angels, and Mai will be frustrated and confused as to the note, and maybe venting to Azula and Ty Lee. As much as Mai can vent, anyway. But Azula will be more or less, in her crafty, Azula-like way, convincing Mai that Zuko is the traitor, Zuko betrayed her, and that Zuko was leading her on the whole time. Basically, anything that will earn Zuko a bad name in Mai's book. Azula will probably do it so that there won't be any hesitation in her 'elite squad' once they confront her brother again. Ho crap, I might have something here! surprised So yes, then after that, when they meet Zuko again, Mai will attack him, He'll try to convince her to join them and that he doesn't want to hurt her, and he'll see that she doesn't accept the real him. Thus, he will have closure, and Zutara can truly begin!
And Katara + Zuko + the Moonlight = Pure and utter WIN! 3nodding
