tragikk Brutality rarely works. And usually you are being superior and presumptuous (Here's my brutal honesty) Not to mention hypocritical. If it's honesty you want, the impression I have of you from my short time in the guild is a kid who wants to sound big on the internet by putting others down and making them feel bad about themselves. And you pretend to be so clever aswell. You put down people when they are happy and you turn the most innocent things into a whole palaver. It's like a dictatorship when no-one can speak their mind. You may think what you're doing is speaking your mind but by being so "honest" and kicking others out when they complain too much it's you who is stopping others from speaking their mind. It's like you look for the negativity in everything. Do you never see the positives?
But on the other hand I think you're a nice person and yes, you are truthful. And I think it was good of you to make this post and there’s a lot of Gaians that are worse than you. On the whole I like you, sorry if it seemed any other way. =/
You have no proof of my "pretending". You have no proof that I am "trying to sound big". I placed that "if you're able to read" comment in there to prove that you, in fact, do not seem to be able to comprehend the message and/or focal point of a passage such as what I have written in this topic. This whole manifesto is designed to prove to you that I am not trying to be big and I am not trying to pretend anything, that I am being down-to-earth in nature.
Obviously you found the comment to be disparaging because you failed to heed it.
I don't think you have any justification in saying this is comparable to a dictatorship when no-one can speak their mind. I'm not stopping anybody from saying anything, as this topic has proven.
It is difficult to look for positives when there are not many in the situation.
You really do a bad job at first impressions, I made this topic, in all honesty, to get people like you on my good side, obviously the average man would think this is a skewed strategy. But you have done nothing to prove to me that you favor me, and I'm forced out of common sensible human nature to not believe you. Though it is true that actions speak louder than words, this is a domain of words only, and your words have spoken nothing but the desire to knock me off of an alleged pedestal that many seem to think I place myself upon.
Though it may be of no consequence to you, I shall continue to hold you in contempt when you are in my virtual presence until you do something to prove to me what you have claimed, that you purportedly "like" me.

You thought that this topic would get people on your good side? You're honestly not trying to sound big? Then why bother with all the snide comments you give? A couple of days ago I was wandering whether to stay in this guild because quite frankly coming here depresses me. (Btw I am going to stay unless I get kicked out because there's no-one that I absolutely hate here) So I joined the "Taste the Rainbow" lesbian, bi and trans Girl's Sanctuary guild. If there's one thing I've noticed it's that the atmospheres here and there are completely different.
Can't you just keep quiet when you dislike something and not give honesty OR sugar coated lies?
I think guilds should have rules but completely humiliating people when they do the slightest thing wrong IS dictatorship, I think.
As to your last comment, I like everyone, because whereas you see mainly the negatives in everyone I see mainly the positives. But no matter, I can do dislike when I have to. That makes me sound a bit like a hypocrite, because I havn't had much chance to show this "like" in the guild yet. =/

rottenyouth. haha.
anyway, on a more serious note; to tragikk.
Tom is a very smart person, not some little kid who is pretending to be intellectually superior. I know this for a fact. His intellect surely surpasses my own.
and you're right. Everyone here has the right to express themselves, and everyone has the right to speak the truth.
I think what triggers this "brutal honesty" though, is intolerance of stupidity. [which isnt always a bad thing] I know I do that alot.
Question is; what would the guild prefer? This honesty, or sugar-coated lies. Well maybe Tom should show more of the intelligent side of his persona rather than the spiteful side. I have no doubts as to his intellect, that's not what I meant by saying that he pretends to be clever.
If you dislike something you can just say nothing at all. It's not too hard. Unless you really dislike something in which case I would have no problem with you saying something.
No-one in this guild is stupid, yet he portrays them as so. I mean, this is your guild you can run it as you wish but I honestly don't think people are able to speak their minds here unless their opinion is also Tom's opinion. Otherwise he... attacks them.
This is GAIA. People don't come here for English lessons or to be told they're idiots.

He only states his opinions and why he disagrees with others, but he doesnt go off and say "you suck because you dont belive in this" and such... unless its something big and stupid. I dont think i need to speak for him though...so yeah...blah... Isel's cool... in that james bond kinda way...

I've gotten into an argument with Tom once, and in no way did he try to make me feel stupid. It isn't his fault if someone takes something wrong..

I will make the provision that if anyone should leave because of my actions, I will have to step down from my position in shame.

No matter. If silence is what you wish.

No don't! Seriously... You're not understanding what I'm trying to say. But that's probably due to the fact that I am rubbish at explaining things.

On your other note, exactly what provisions do you want me to make that will keep you here? The style in which I lead and enforce is the style that I have actually researched and learned to be the most effective type of leadership, not only through experiences of others but through having previous leadership skills in military-style organizations.
I do not know how I can lead in an equally effective manner yet become more hospitable to the public eye.

Look I don't see why you would care if I stayed or not, seeing as you "hold me in contempt" I might leave but don't resign or whatever if I do. I would only leave because I feel like all I've done is bring upset and chaos into a guild that was perfectly fine before I arrived. If I left it wouldn't be your fault, it would be mine.

It's not called sugar coated lies it's called kindness. There is a difference between the two.

You don't understand the issue of you leaving.
If you leave, then I am destroying what Kate created. She hates it when people leave due to conflicts.
I'm trying to compromise with you to save what she loves.
