Dath couldn't help but laugh. Not dead? How could such a foolish creature not believe that he wasn't dead? Dath knew death, he had killed many creatures before. Sure, he didn't kill this one as fast as some other ones that he had killed, but the silver freak was as sure as dead. If he wasn't dead when Dath started to crush his head, he was certain to be dead from all of the blood loss from all the damage that Dath had dealt to him.
Silly females. They were always wrong. Always.
"Oh, really now? Let's seee," he commented, giving the body a kick. There was no response. Timed quite nicely, as when he moved to give the body a kick, the lioness had lunged at him, and obviously missed. "Oh? Silly girl, I think you're going about this the wrong way." With the lioness facing his was, he simply swiped his paw over her face, cutting it with ease. There, now she'd see blood on the bridge of her nose, to match her foolish rage.

Nyota skidded on the ground as she missed, her heart nearly bursing from her chest. She was frightened, scared that she would get one hit and die from the creature. But as long as her son was safe, she would attack over and over again until the demon had left them.
Her ears swivled forward as the creature taunted her about her son. No! He wasn't dead, there was no way that he was dead! She snarled at the beast, still not believing it. Until she saw that he didn't reat to that hard kick. At all. It replayed in her mind a coupld times before it sunk in.
Maybe...maybe he was dead. Her whole world crashed down on her, and her anger disappeared so quickly she almost fell backwards. Dead? No!
"Hifadhi! Hifadhi!" she cried, hoping that it was just a ruse and he'd react to her, regardless if the demon was there or not. Nothing. Nothing but silence, and the pleased smile on the demon.
And as quickly as it fell silent, she felt a sudden pressure and surge of pain on her face. What? Was..was it attacking her now? No!

Dath's attention now turned on the small female before him. Since the other one was dead now, he had nothing else to play with. And she was here, so conveniently, and so defeated. What joy! He paced around her, trying to see just where he should cut her. Where did it look like it would hurt most? Where it might blead the most? Where was it most open? So many choices, and yet he couldn't take too much time. Didn't want his prey running away, now!
"Hmhmhm, such a sleek body," he taunted, rambling on about this and that, keeping to himself about jsut how much he wanted to see her bleed. That would really make her bolt, and he felt like he needed a bit more fun. Nothing special, though, just something as simple as a bit of torture before death.

No! Nyota's mind was still reeling from the death of her son. No. How? What was she going to do now? Hifadhi was the only reason that she was still alive, the only way that she had been able to make it so far. There were times that she had just wanted to die, but she would bounce back because of her son. Now what would she do? The light of her life was gone, and she was scared to sink back into the depths of madness. She knew it would return, because she was alone. And full of pain, oh, so much pain.
She couldn't bear it anymore. With a chocked back cry, she turned and bolted, running from the scene as fast as she could. What could she do? Nothing, Hifadhi was dead. She couldn't return to these lands ever again. There was too much sadness tied to it. She knew that the creature would follow after her, maybe even kill her...and maybe she should die by her son. But she couldn't take the sight of his body lying there anymore. So she would run, run as fast and far as she could.
It was the only think that she knew how to do, to run away.

Dath growled. Stupid thing ended up bolting anyway. Now what? He didn't feel like chasing after it, as it took up too much energy. Even flying would be a lot of work. What to do. He glanced back over at the body of the silver thing. Well, whatever it was, it upset that stupid lioness a lot. Maybe a son? Must be. Haha, stupid mortals, always caring about others way too much. Too much.
He licked his chops, figuring that he would indeed run after her, beat her up a little, and perhaps let her go. He was getting kind of tired of this, and needed to do something else. But a little bit of torture that would last a lifetime would be worth it.
With a huff, he kept his firey illusion up as he himself bolted after the mud brown lioness, content with what he decided. Scars would last on her body, but the ones on her heart? All the better.
