Toquah thought for a moment she was lying, that she was only being nice to him because she wanted to trick him... he glanced up and into her eyes, and held back a soft gasp. She meant what she said! "U-um... f-fine. H-How are y-you, K-K-K..." He couldn't even say her name, he was beyond nervous. He was happy, though. This was the first time someone stayed to chat with him, besides that one stallion... Duncan?... and someone other than his family... he gave Kelva a tiny, timid smile, before it disappeared and he ducked his head shyly once more.

How did he go about making conversation with a mare? His heart had gone up to his throat and locked it, preventing him from speaking right away. His ears twitched every once in a while as well, showing his nervousness what his voice did not. Something clicked, however, that confused him. He looked up shyly once more, and asked, "H... How did you know... my n-name...?" Had he told her before? He didn't remember. It was at times like this he cursed his faulty memory, wishing he didn't have so many blank spots. He knew, of course, his family, and probably had heard here and there about distant relatives but otherwise he didn't remember much more than his own name.

"..." He waited for Kelva's reply as he fidgeted nervously; this awkwardness was killing him, and he wanted to bolt and run, but knew if he did it would be rude to Kelva... and he didn't want that. So, he was stuck. Toquah nearly whimpered and whined because of how terrified he was, but at the same time he didn't want to ruin his first chance with a mare. How had he managed to... and what... oh no, his thoughts were colliding and making a mess, and then he drew a blank, becoming slightly dazed. He had confused himself, but now he managed to just focus on Kelva. She seemed to have this... aura... about her that helped him to keep to himself, though he would probably never say that aloud for fear of offending the gentle mare.

Kelva felt his nervousness, a tenseness that swirled about him like a dangling noose threatening to strangle and quiet forever more. Her heart beat slowly yet deep wanting to do more than anything to create a bond with one so meek and hidden. Eyes of shining blue soaking heavily into him for reassurance and comfort as her breathing was soft and gentle. Any little thing she would do could create an impact if a fear within this gentle soul, so she had to be very careful and think before her thoughts galloped away with her.

Taking a breath her smile resonated like a warm beacon back at him, never faltering or wavering from her goal she was intending to accomplish. What would she say to answer his question the mare wondered. Perhaps just go with what her heart was speaking at the moment.

"No... no its perfectly fine Toquah. You told be when we first met. I like your name," she commented with a soft laugh that was comforting to the timid stallion "No worries I'm not going to vanish like everyone else. I'm not like them for you see once I meet someone I can truly connect with I consider them a really good friend." She nodded with a long swish of her tail as as of crystal blue lidded off and on back at him. Not once had she taken her eyes off of Toquah if only to blink as she needed to.

She looked away for a moment letting her thoughts flow with her, something her mother did from time to time. "I see beauty in everything be it small or large. A heart can be large or it can be a tiny feeling. Being shy is nothing to be ashamed of Toquah, so don't feel you have to hide for I will not vanish nor be cruel. I think you're rather special and promise to help you if you so desire. " Perhaps she had spoken rather deeply, a yearning feeling that just wanted to voice its opinion, but she was sure he might understand her point. Kan was right that he was scared and terrified, but Kelva much like her mother would wait as long as it took to gain trust and understanding. Though she carried the passion of Nanaki, a warrior with deep values, she also portrayed Star Catcher's ideals and feelings. It was who Kelva truly was meant to be.

Her words made his heart soar to new heights, and slowly, every so slowly, he began to talk to her without the stuttering, his kind, soft eyes clearing into enthusiasm and warmth. "R-Really? Th-That's great! I'd really appreciate it, Kelva." He spoke sincerely and earnestly, a smile dancing on his lips. But, unlike his counterpart, he spoke gently, but firmly, and was a genuine honest stallion. Very much unlike Kan, he did not flirt, nor did he try to butter other Soquili up in order to either keep them at a distance or gain their approval... he was just Toquah, an innocent, naive, but earnest and honest Toquah. "Kelva, would you like to hear about my family, or did you want to talk about yours? Or maybe..." he gulped a bit of air, "...maybe we should tell each other about o-o-ourselves?"

Geez, he's so pathetic... but whatever, he's trying now, came Kan's thoughts as he watched the scene like it was a movie. In a way it was, because he was only a bystander, drifting alongside the universe but never seen and never heard. It was why he always fought to take control of the body he shared with Toquah, because he didn't want to be forgotten, or unseen, or unheard. It was an aching pain that had lasted with him since the time he realized that instead of a split personality there were actually two souls that continuously fought for control, but at the same time harmonized as one. He was frustrated that now, while Toquah was awake, he was powerless. Toquah, only when closing his eyes willingly or wishing to escape reality, gave power to Kan, who, in the end, was actually the weaker soul. Kelva probably knew this, but because he was bolder and strong-willed, she probably didn't know he was actually less powerful. He tuned in once more as he decided to stop reflecting on his wounds, wondering when Toquah would allow him to get a chance again. He'd noticed lately he'd started having less and less chances to escape to the outside world...

While Kan's inner-inner turmoil (for inner meant it was Toquah, but inner-inner meant Kan) continue relentlessly at the far, far back of Toquah's mind, he was now much more confident. Toquah, though not exactly like Hania, had the gentleness, but seriousness, of his father, but was more like his mother. Mahiri, though a playful mare and often times looked younger than her children, had a calm about her that matched wits with Hania's, reasons why the two had so much in common and yet were so different. Toquah, like his siblings, had a sharp, intelligent mind but was also playful, if one could get past his shyness and meekness. "You really are wonderful, Kelva," he said, admiration spilling heavily from his voice. "I've... I've really never met any mare like you. You're beautiful, smart, and kind... it's hard to find mares like that these days." He ducked his head in embarrassment. "Well, besides my family, but I don't know if they count, eheheheh."

She smiled wistfully at Toquah trying her best to keep him optimistic and talking on his own free will. While she was higly fascinated with the same yet different souls that inhabited this body, Kelva realized just how difficult it must be living in the completion. Now she wasn't biast about either one, in fact Kelva was overjoyed they both took interest in her. But one thing she had to remember above all was keeping both in her heart and mind. The deepness of Kan and the softness of Toquah which made up this wonderful individual riddled with the fight for existence.

"We can yes. As a matter of fact I'd love to hear about your family." she nodded with a shake of her short spiky tresses that slid downward on her neck in a silken passionate blue like her mother's hair. She mused blowing out softly a moment before she spoke once more, "Well... I think I'll start first since you asked. I love musing over my family and hope you'll like my tale I sing for you as well." Closing her eyes she breathed softly before begining her story, something she kept dear to her heart and relived a thousand times retelling.

"I was born from my basket to the two most wonderful parents a foal could ever pine for. My father whom is called Nanaki when I first saw him was so strong and handsome as my blue eyes flickered in wonderment as his tail flickered and pulsed alive with flame." he eyes reopened with Star Catcher's pensive gaze as they blinked back at the shy stallion. Her mind was singing as her voice was when she began with her mother's description next.

"My mother oh she looked like an angel how white she was. Her mane and tail flowed like a long blue river around and behind her. I mused seeing this figure as she nuzzled me so lovingly. Seemed my father had taken interest in my sister Aquene more then me, but yet I think he loved us both. Star Catcher my mother and Nanaki my Father were two of the happiest parents to ever be blessed with daughters as special as we were." Her eyes flickered once again with such a soft response as they flowed into Toquah's hoping he too felt that bliss, that beautiful emotion she so passionately felt and admired in herself.

Kelva wondered if Kan was listening, possibly hanging onto her words as much as he liked gazing in her soft eyes. She mused thinking how he was standing there deep in the shadows waiting to be with her again when Toquah let him break through once more.

"Alright there's some of my tale, for there is so much more of the herd I live near and all their personalities... but I want to hear your tale Toquah, "she leaned inward blowing softly with reassuring eyes, "Don't worry because I'm always listening so feel free to sing your heart out and tell me all you want to. A heart that sings in a song of feeling and portrays a picture is simply the most magical thing in the world." she mused with a shake of her head thinking to herself as she watched him thoughtfully.

"Did... you say Nanaki?" he asked, looking surprised. "I have heard of him; a family friend, Shimshek, speaks of him often, now and again, because he is her best friend." He smiled as he listened to her tale; it was innocent and pure bliss and joy. He knew the feeling well. His whole family grew up with such an emotion, and he could not help but to smile softly at her as she spoke. "My father Hania and my mother Mahiri are both wonderful, kind, happy parents... they are also the one couple I believe are truly dedicated, for they have not broken apart despite the time they have spent apart." His eyes softened ever more as he recalled his lovely foalhood. "I am closest to the eldest sister, Aruna. Though I, too, was born with siblings, I am but the youngest of six." Toquah had always been an excellent storyteller, a trait he had apparently received from Hania specifically. "Aruna is the most wise and most experienced, but I have, before, met the oldest brother, Bairn." He shuddered slightly as he remembered that meeting, one that was truly... special.

"I, too, came from a basket," he chuckled. "My life, however, was shouldered with a faulty memory... there are dates and times I cannot remember things, but yet I have done them. It is only possible, for... for I always find myself in a different place than I was before." He looked into Kelva's eyes, holding her gaze as he continued to speak in a deep, soothing voice. "Between you and I, sometimes I half wonder, perhaps, if I am possessed by another. That is merely jest, though, for I doubt such a thing can happen. My family has never said I am none other than myself, and have only encouraged me to understand that I tend to fall asleep on my feet." Here he stopped, blushing embarrassedly, and turned his gaze away. "I have not yet met my sister Artemis. She is the one most distant from my family... my brother and sister Riley and Epesi whom I was born with, while I love them, are too, distant. I am closest to my father." He continued his tale for a while, then stopped. He might had gone too far, but when he was telling his stories, he always felt more confident... and he hadn't stuttered as much either.

Toquah was growing more confident! This caused Kan to fear for his existence, wondering if, for all that Toquah was, if Kelva managed to create confidence within his alter ego, would he ever escape? No, before he faded, before he was vanquished... he had to do something! Toquah, despite sounding like a timid stallion, was actually, indeed, very powerful. Next to Toquah, Kan was actually much weaker--not only was he not the dominant mind and spirit, but he also was unable to leave his "confinement" until Toquah chose to run away... which, from what it looked like, did not look to be soon. As Kelva told her life story, he became entranced but yet frustrated. Toquah was such an excellent storyteller; it was a talent Kan himself did not have. The talent Kan had was with the genius art of fighting. Being born in the wild, he, like his nephew Shizuka Tsuyoi, learned how to fight. His only talent--fighting--would not impress a gentle, lovely mare like Kelva... Toquah's storytelling would most likely win Kelva's heart, but... but! He sighed, forced to be content to sit at the back of his twin's mind, merely to watch and listen until such a time as his chance for freedom came along...

Kelva listened intently for she was so proud Toquah was taking those steps to showing himself and becoming more stable. He seemed much more than the meek soul cowering in her light she previously met beforehand. But, her thoughts also turned to Kan and how he must feel at that moment. Oh Kan... Please don't fade away.. Stay strong.. for me... It was strangely odd to think of liking them both but she did and it was a secret she had to bury deep within herself so Toquah wouldn't figure it out. Kelva had promised Kan she'd never reveal him to Toquah for surely it would open a conflict of one destroying the other for existence. For now she could only give strength to Kan from her thoughts and the beating of her heart.

Toquah mentioning the separate identity made her neary choke out of her worry for Kan placing up her guard to protect that secret. "Well maybe that "possession" as you call it is perhaps your subconscious trying to keep you from doing things you shouldn't. We all have that inner voice and light that guides us when things seem wrong or wayward.. I'm sure that's what it is..." she mused blowing out softly hoping to help Toquah understand Kan was merely trying to help him, or so she hoped. He was becoming confident and his stories were quite wonderful as he told them with new found confidence.

"Thank you so much Toquah for your story was rich and full of who you truly are. You are a wonderful individual and i'm glad I met you and..." pausing she caught herself almost mentioning Kan's name, "Ah my day has become so much more interesting. Care to take a walk with me and explore a little? No worries I'll keep watch and beat up anything that bothers us? What do you think?" She chuckled at that last part for her fiery heart was full of passion and a good fight always riled her senses. It must of been related to Nanaki's blood that burned like a bonfire inside of her
