Auriga laughed as Oathkeeper chased her. "Of course you can!" She giggled plafully as she tossed her head back, her long forelock whipping behind her as she ran. "You can keep your star for a long as you wish, if you catch her..."
She kept running, taking a deep breath and letting out a happy sigh. She was never so happy to run with someone before...

Oathkeeper smiled again. His heart seemed like it could fly. She was the one...he just knew she was the one. Finally matching gait and galloping side by side her smirked and winked over at her.
"I'm catching up!" he teased, not shouting as much to be heard over the wind now that he was neck and neck. "What now?" he asked, still teasing her. He noticed they were now nearing the forest again. Gathering all his strength he rushed for the forests clearing, intending to kindly cut her off and ask her the question his heart had been so longing to just scream right out.

Auriga laughed and bucked at the air before chasing after him into the forest. She noticed they had entered a clearing in the trees and Oathkeeper skidded in front of her. She skidded to a halt also, almost rearing up to stop herself from crashing into him.
"Eeek! I guess this counts as catching the stars then!" She laughed.

"So it does, does it?" Oathkeeper smirked, giving her a nuzzle as she settled back down on the ground after her half-rearing. "Allow me then to ask my question proper now?" he replied. Clearing his throat, he smiled, "Auriga, will you be my mate?"

It really shouldn't have been such a shock to her. Her and Oathkeeper were so close, and she truly cared for him. But when he asked her, her heart thumped so loudly in her chest she was sure he could hear it.
"Oathkeeper.... I... do you really mean that?" she stammered, looking into his eyes to search for truth. She saw it, and a large grin spread across her face. "Oath... yes.... yes, of course!"
She didn't have to think. She may have been hurt in the past, but none of that mattered now...

"Yes! Really?!" he replied, to both comments at once. He launched foward, carefull not to scare her, and gaver her most loving nuzzle and cuddle yet. "You make me so happy and I promise to always make you happy, through life and always" Oathkeeper vowed. He lingered as long as he could near her, at least long enough for it not to seem too long. It was evening now, and the lovely evening stars were beginning to twinkle their way into the sky. What a lovely way to end a day... he thought. "Lie with me and watch the stars come out until we fall asleep?" he suggested happily. His heart was more fluttery and alive than he could ever remember it being before.

Auriga's heart still pounded, and she felt an overwhemling happiness fill her up like a warm drink would. She nuzzled Oathkeeper back, smiling almost ridiculously but unable to stop it.
"Do you mean that promise....? Would you stay with me, forever....?" She whispered slightly before the looked at the stars together. She looked back at him, still smiling.
"I would love to lie with you and watch the stars.... Tonight, they'll be more beautiful than they ever have been.... because of you..."

"I mean it, Auriga. With all my heart. I'd stay with you forever and past that" Oathkeeper assured, returning the ever-affectionate nuzzles to his lifemate. The stallion flicked a braid from his face and settled down in the forest clearing, making sure that the ground and his side would be extra comfy for his mate to lay. Once both had settled together, Oathkeeper gazed upward just in time to catch a bright shooting star streaking passed. "Oh a shooting star! Lets make a wish!" he said playfully. As if nothing could make his night better though. He'd already gotten one of his greatest wishes come true.

Auriga giggled slightly as she set herself down beside Oath in time to catch a shooting star.
"I already have! You should always wish on stars..." She gave him an affectionate nudge, her smile still wide. "And so far, they seem to be working out for me... After all, I found you..." She slipped her head under his, closing her eyes and nuzzling into him.
"And what greater wish is there than that to ask for....?"

"Oh---I don't know" Oathkeeper teased, turning his head up and away to be humorous. It was clear he had something in mind, but was teasing for dramatic effect. He returned his mate's nuzzle after a moment of being humorously secretive and closed his eyes as well.

Auriga grinned slightly and nudged him. "Oooooath..... are you hiding something from me?" She tilted her head, her ears upright as she looked at him quizzically. "You wouldn't be keeping secrets from your new lifemate, would you?" A ridiculously large smile broke across her face as she reffered to herself as his lifemate.

"Noooooo no of coooooarse not" the stallion teased, giving a nicker as a laugh and nuzzling her. "I'm just being cute, my sweet. I was only---well...only thinking of---" he began. "Oh you don't want to know" he snickered, back into teasing her. He could tell she was just bursting to know. So, taking a deep breath he smirked in a sort of trouble making manner. "How about a family? Now that would make everything complete" Oathkeeper replied, "A loving mate and wonderful kids." He gave curt nod. He wondered how'd she would repond.

Auriga's eyes widened. She had never even thought of a family, after being alone for so long, and children had been the last thing she would ever have thought of for herself. But his mention of this gave her butteflies! She felt a longing ache all of a suddent, that left as quickly as it came. She slid her head under his.
"Children..... of our own...? They would be beautiful.... Oathkeeper, I never even thought I would be a mother, but with you, the thought of it isn't out of place at all!" She smiled widely.

"Well then when the time is right I'm sure the spirits will bless us with some of our own! And I of coarse look more than forward to sharing that experience of a family with you!" he smiled, nuzzling her hair below him. "But---" he yawned slowly, "We'll look forward to that another time, eh? Till then, lets just enjoy each other's company." And with that he prepared to settle in with her for the night.
