Ba'kru's comment was something she's also heard about before. It sends chills down her spine that some males think so little of females. But, there was little that Alula could do about it, and so, she'd just leave before getting involved with anything. Because if there was one thing that she knew, if she wanted to mate and start a family, it wouldn't be without having the father there to help her raise them that's for sure. She liked to think of it as her parents, that she'd be with someone as well. She nodded her head, "It is. To think that is everything. But, it's hard to change others and therefore, if they want to think as such that is their own problem because I know what I think is better." She smiled as he played with her. "It's nice to have dreams, they keep you motivated. The force that pushes you that extra step."
As he made her guess where he would go, she'd dodge after him here and there before he stopped to look at her. His whole demeanor had changed, he seemed rather taken by her bold statement. She stood up, her dark eyes searched him before she walked towards him. Once she was close to him, she leaned forward so her face was near his as she spoke, "Perhaps that was a little bold on my part, and I know you've just met me, but I do mean every single word. I'm lonely by myself and want to be with someone." Her ears had drooped slightly as she said that. It was hard to admit that, but it was true.

He smiled and licked her cheek softly, it was full of care and he meant it to show that. His eyes seemed passionate as he looked at her, the playful purr had died away to a more comforting one. His ears fell a little but not enough to seem negative. "Consider that... my bold move," he murmured before nuzzling her softly, closing his eyes to take it all in. To be honest, he was hoping that she would indeed stay with him. Even if it were for a little while he would have been happy. If she meant what she said, not letting him go, he could never complain. He licked her again as he stepped away. He gave a rather coy smile before turning from her. "I've been lonely too, and you don't know how much I have wanted to be with someone..."
"I believe I was giving a very beautiful, young cheetah an escort to the water hole," he purred back to her. His soft blue eyes looked back at her with the same compassion as before. He never thought such a rare situation would occur, a rotten night brought into day only to bring forth something so... well, it was hard to describe but it felt almost magical and surreal... He dipped his head and swung out a paw as a gesture of chivalry, a gesture of allowing the ladies to go first. It was the least he could do now that he had found someone to be with him.

His lick was something very unexpected as Alula's eyes widen in surprise. Ba'kru's gaze said it all and she couldn't help but feel something bubble down deep within her chest. Her tail flicked slightly as she looked at him with a smile. Her day's definitely been made and it just made her squeal with glee on the inside at hearing his words as well. At least she wasn't the only one who was lonely and longing to be with another. Softly, "I quite liked your bold move. I guess we can help each other out then, at the very least have fun, right?" She tilted her head before she watched him raise a paw forward.
Ah right! Getting side-tracked, the two of them were supposed to be heading to the water hole! How could she have forgotten? Her dark eyes looked over the male before she remembered. She could have easily forgotten, since she was having so much fun just talking with him. Taking the gesture, she walked forward before glancing back at him playfully, "I do believe that's where we were supposed to be heading before we got side-tracked. Not that I am complaining afterall!" She giggled softly, this day had turned out better than she had ever imagined that's for sure. Leopard or otherwise, it didn't matter to her.

"Side-tracked?" he questioned, moving himself up to her flank, purring to himself. What could have been better than finding another traveling companion than having a beautiful girl beside him! Now what could have been better? He blushed lightly as he walked a littler closer to her so that his fur would barely touch her on passing. "I think... it was one worth taking, don't you think, Alula?" His voice was the same but with a bit more up beat, sort of playfulness in there.
Inky black female with strange markings upon her back walked beside the slightly shorter, perhaps about shoulder's height. As he looked at her again and again, he could not help but think of her as if a pure white butterfly fluttering in the dark. From time to time, in an area not too far from them, there have been butterflies that were active at night, fluttering around in the moon light. Either that, or moths. Their wings would flutter and they just seemed too always catch the attention of those around it. Now that he thought about it, Alula sort of did that to him. Her walk moved the wing like markings looked as if they fluttered and moved like a moth moved in the night. Her mask held her dark eyes like those of agnostic moths and butterflies. However, it was Alula... she was definitely...
"...a butterfly," he muttered.

As Ba'kru slide up alongside her, Alula couldn't help to stop the soft purring that had involuntary started to match his own. It was just as contagious as a smile! Her dark eyes looked at him before she nodded her head. Oh yes, it was definitely worth taking that detour, since she accomplished much more than she has in a long, long time. "Oh yes, it was very much worth taking. I agree wholeheartedly, Ba'kru!"
As the pair traveled closer to the water hole, she could see the water on the not to distance horizon. Ah, their destination was coming up closer than she had imagined. But all the same, she couldn't help but feel his wandering gaze on her. She knew that she looked different than most, with her coloring and markings. But, she was never resentful, but rather proud of how she looked. The black cheetah knew she stood out, but it wasn't until she felt Ba'kru's gaze on her did she realize just how much she did. Slightly bashful, she couldn't help but feel her face heat up slightly before she gazed up to look at him with a questioning gaze. Was he referring to her? She couldn't help but grin slyly at him, "They're quite beautiful, aren't they?"

He gasped silently as he locked his eyes with her. Her face was a slight red color, he had no idea why. Was she watching him look at her? Could she have? His ears pinned back a little for a second before he chuckled sheepishly. "Y-yeah, they are! They are very beautiful when you are in the Jungle. Butterflies are everywhere, especially around the big lake. But don't forget the night butterflies; they have a habit of fluttering around at night to show off their color, but it's really the moon's light." he rambled a little, hopping that she was talking about the insect. He blushed in embarassment before taking a few strides ahead toward the water. Being around her made him somewhat nervious and that gave him a sort of dry throat. With a few steps ahead, he turned around to talk to her.
"You know, you quite pretty for a cheetah to attract a leopard. Don't you find that a little strange? I mean, of all those that are out here, we just happened to meet this way?" he chuckled lightly. He was a bit skeptical at first as if fate was toying with him this time. But she did say she wouldn't let him go... "I am surprised that my traveling companion didn't run into your first, being a leopard himself. I mean, what are the chanc-"
Kru felt his foot click, hitting something before stumbling back. He fell on his rump, his forepaws managing to catch him from falling completely. Looking around he noticed that he was in water.... only up to his 'wrist' and a good deal of his body that would normally be on the ground. His entire lower section, tail, lower back, and paws. He was in the water hole! Almost immediately, the thought of Alula invaded his mind. Oh no! Instantly... his face became blood red, ears pinning back.
"Hehe... welcome to the water hole."

As Ba'kru rambled on about butterflies and moths, Alula couldn't help but mentally giggle at how he looked slightly adorable. Ears perked foward as she gazed at him, "I've never actually seen those in the jungle, but if they are like you say...I'd very much like to see them sometime." A soft giggle escaped from her as she flicked her tail, "Aw, but they're colors have to be just as magically as the day time butterflies." Just as she was about to say something else, his question was something else. Now that she takes some time to think about it, it was rather extraordinary to say the least.
Her head tilted slightly, "Perhaps it might be strange, but I guess it's all about how you look at it. I don't find it strange that I should be pretty enough to attract a leopard, it makes me feel nice to know that male cheetahs wouldn't be the only ones that think I'm pretty then," She pauses to smile at him, "Perhaps I did run into your companion first, I wouldn't know but you're the one that I enjoy being with more. I am very happy how things have turned out..." She was about to say more before Ba'kru tripped into the water. Before the black cheetah could have said something, everything just happened so quickly! She made her way towards the edge of the water and walked towards him with the water a little past her toes. "What an entrance!"

Kru shrugged and reclined back into the water, frankly, with the rare rains that took him by surprise when he was up in these frail trees, he was used to getting wet. The waterline stopped a bit before his ears, letting the slight tuft of fur fall into the water too, letting it sway with the ripples that would frequently emit around him. The leopard let his paws simply float around him, the water was soothing as it soaked into his inky black fur, making him wet and sleek. There was no point in getting to the water hole, get wet, and get dry again. Then again, there was no point in getting wet and staying wet to dry off later but being lazy. With a slight purr, he laid there at the water's edge, belly up, sprawled on the water.
"I'll take you one day, Alula, if you come with me. Who knows, I might find my way back to the Jungle for some reason and I promise you then that I will take you to see them," he spoke, looking up at the sky as the night slowly over took, the stars coming out to play. "My friend's also a leopard, sort of cloudy looking, but he's a good guy. He likes the females so if you met him, you wouldn't forget him," his friend was very flirtatious so if she had met him; she could never forget being hit on! Especially by someone like him. He looked down at her briefly over his broad chest, smiling before putting his head back.
"Well, we are at the water hole, we came to have fun... heh, I know I did. Today-no, from the time I met you, it has been."

Well then, that definitely cleared it up as Alula was sure that she hasn't met his companion before. His description didn't match the other male leopard that she ran into not too long ago. Though, it didn't really matter all too much to her then, as she put her mind back on the matter before her. Water hole and Ba'kru! Her tail flicked playfully before she went into deeper water to get wet. "I'd like that, it'll be something I'll look forward to doing with you, Ba'kru!" As she lapped up some water, it was then that she noticed the sky darkening and the twinkling stars starting to appear. It was becoming her favorite time of day!
Dark eyes gazed over at Ba'kru before she leapt through the water towards him, making sure to splash some water in his direction. It was nice the way the dimming sun sparkled on the water as she was dripping wet to match the leopard. She made sure to keep an eye on Ba'kru, for she knew he'd do something back. At the very least, they could both get soak and wet with the water.

Ba'kru's eyes seemed mesmorized by the stars above them, watching them, but the splash had broken his attention. Turning his gaze on the female, he smirked but made no move. He remained sprawled where he was, his underside vulnerable to any and all, even her if she so pleased. He smiled a little before turning the sky, flicking his paw a little to cause small splashes that would do nothing. The sky... something he rarely saw all his life was only able to be seen out here in the sky.
"You know... I never really got to see the sky like this when I was yoinger. It was always covered up by the trees of the jungle that it was almost impossible to even see them if I wanted to. If I climbed too far up, I risked the danger of falling down. So I always thought the stares were like when the sun hit the leaves, causing shadows of the lights to dance on the jungle floor... they are nothing like that," he spoke randomly, looking up at the stars above them. He turned to her, motioning her over to him. "Come, watch the stars with me for a while."

Curious, Ba'kru seemed so absorbed with something, that Alula was very curious. She saw him beckoning her and she went to him in the water. Her ears were perked forward curiously as he started to divulge in information that surprised her. He's never really seen the night time sky before? Perhaps it may seem silly, but she's always thought that everyone's seen the night time sky. She had never really thought that it would have been so different in the jungle, but then again, she's never been there either. So her assumptions were really void in that area, since she had no idea what the actually inside of the jungle looked like.
Her dark gaze looked up at the sky, watching the stars come to life once again. They twinkled brightly on the darkening part of the sky and slowly coming to life where the sun was setting. Turning back to Ba'kru, she couldn't help by smile warmly at him. "Is that so? I love watching the stars at night...it's my favorite time of the day. Especially since I can hide very well in the darkness." She let the silence surround them for a bit, taking everything in. "I didn't know the trees were so thick there. I love to lay out at night and watch the stars whenever I can. Sometimes, if I get lucky, I'll see a shooting star!" She said happily.

Kru sat up, dripping wet fur, droplets of water rolling down it and back into the water hole. He smiled softly, his body seemed ti shimmer in the moonlight but he seemed not to notice it. he had no idea water had the affect on him. The leopard stepped forth from the water and onto dry land before turning back to her. The sky was getting dark which meant his partner was back at that tree... but he did not want to go back yet; in fact he wanted to stay with this female. But... if he remembered right, cheetahs slept in dens and the ground... he slept in trees.
"Shootings stars, huh? Those must be the wonder sight to see... you are fortunate to have been savanna born. You can run, you can see the stars every night, you can hunt much more easily... I guess I am a little jealous, but I won't hold it against you," he smiled and made his way to the closest tree.
"I am sorry to leave you so abruptly, Alula, but... I should really get my sleep; I have plans to move on tomorrow and I need the rest," he jumped up on his hind legs putting his paws on it, claws diggin' into bark. He stayed there for a moment, his ears bent back before falling back down. "Alula, would you... would you like to come with me to the Beach or something? I mean, it's on the way to the western mountains and I hear it was a nice place to go..." his fur turned a light color of pink.

As Kru had gotten out of the water and onto dry land, Alula decided to follow suit as well. She padded her way quietly towards the shore before she walked out and shook the water from her fur. After hearing his declaration, she couldn't help but smile softly. It was something different, to hear that he envied her and what she was. While sometimes felt it to be a burden, she didn't wish to be any different because if she did then she wouldn't be Alula!
She nodded her head, "Oh yes! They're very beautiful, and good luck too! If you make a wish right after you see one, it's supposed to come true. Though, it won't come true if you tell someone your wish, so it has to be a secret." She couldn't help but softly giggle, it was an old cub story but she loved the whole idea of wishing upon a shooting star. There was no real harm in it other than letting herself know what she truly wished for. Though, his request was something that made her stop short and look at him with surprise. He was truly asking her to join him to the ocean! At first, she didn't know how to express her happiness at the idea of seeing the ocean, as all she's heard are stories about it. She walked closer to him before she gave him a dazzling smile, "I would definitely love to go to the beach with you. I've never been so far outside the plains before, it'll definitely be fun," She paused before she felt her face heat up slightly as she winked, "Plus, I have a promise to keep, Ba'kru." It was nice, being with him, made her feel happy. And, if he truly wanted to have her join him on his journey to the ocean, then she'd love to go. She looked at him, with the stars twinkling above them.

He smiled and nuzzled her softly before turning back to the tree. Stopping at the base, he turned back to her. With a soft smile, "Alright then! Head on home and get some rest, or rest under this tree whichever works for you. If you head home, then meet me here tomorrow," with a chuckle. "If I'm still snoozin' up there, just chirp. I have heard cheetahs chirp and they are Loud!" his tail flicked remembering once that a cheetah had chirped at him, startled him, and had him fall from a tree. Rather, the sudden jerk made the branch break and he fell. At the tree, Kru quickly scaled to the top and peered out from the leaves, his icy blue eyes looking down at her with a purely white grin was masked slightly by the leaves.
"Stay here, and we can leave as soon as we can! If you decide to go back to your den, that is fine too. I will be here waiting for you, Alula." with that said, he retracted back into the leaves, balancing himself against the branch his right side stood on. Then the left, the right side was stronger. Moving himself over, the leopard laid down nicely in the traditional way of leopard slumber, limbs over the side as if hugging the tree. His purr could not subside as long as her scent remained near. Today was definitely a change for the better, he found a wonderful female that shared some things in common, she wanted to be with him too! And she was a very fun girl. Upon that... he may have just gotten his wish.

Dark eyes watched Kru make his way up the tree. Thinking about what he said, Alula didn't think running all the way back to her den would be good...especially if they wanted to leave tomorrow. She shook her head, "It wouldn't be good if I went all the way back to my den. It's pretty far from here, and right now not worth the trip." She couldn't help but smile softly as she could make out his outline in the tree. Hearing his purr, it was comforting to have someone so close. It's been a long, long time since she's had company while sleeping. Even if he was in the tree and she was resting on the ground.
She curled up slightly, resting next to the trunk of the tree. Her head lowered to rest on her paws as she closed her eyes, taking today it. What a wonderful day it had become, and she could only be more excited about the upcoming days when they started traveling!
