"It's not gross and if you don't eat mice how do you get meat in your diet?" Haruki chuckled and smiled warmly to her. Thanks to Indra he knew what an owner was. "Well you see I don't have an owner. Met one once. She was nice...think her name was Nozomi. You know her?" He asked.

"Well my owner gives me meat." Denise shrugged. It was different, meeting another who didn't grow up in a home but instead outdoors. She didn't think she'd be able to handle it, being used to the pampering and nice, cozy home of her owner. Oh sure the other Hespierdon who lived there were annoying at times but she wouldn't leave her home, how could she survive?
"Obviously not." She muttered under her breath when Haruki mentioned he didn't have an owner. It was obvious he didn't when she thought about it considering he ate mice. "Never even heard of her. The only human I know of is my owner, I do not recall her ever calling herself Nozomi." Denise's eyes turned wary at the thought of other humans, it took her a little bit of warming up to do before she trusted her own human.
"Well, are you going to eat or not?" Denise was hungry too but eating mice was not something she was going to resort to. She'd eat grass if she had to but not mice. The thought of the swishing tail of a mouse as it slipped down her throat made her a little queasy.

"Well think about it...Where does that meat come from? Surely not from thin air." He chuckled some but it stopped quickly with her next words. "Well sorry princess. We can't all have wonderfull owners to take care of our every wim."
He trotted on ahead and called back to her. "Well Nozomi was nice."

"Well....from animals, but there's no fur or tails." She sounded silly, completely stupid. She disliked other hespierdon when they were acting like such idiots and here she was talking about eating meat she was given but not finding her own. It all came from the same place in the end. Though the food she got was all processed, his on the other hand was not. That had to be a big difference, right?
Denise didn't feel like admitting she never hunted before, she didn't want to feel even more pathetic. Was that the reason why she didn't seem like she could eat mice? Because she had never went out into the woods or the meadows and searched the land for food in order to survive. Was being pampered for her whole life completely the wrong way of doing things?
"No I suppose not." Denise followed more slowly behind him, many questions appearing in her head with every step. "I'm sure she was." Even if she had never met her and though she still was wary of other humans, she knew that a lot of them were nice. They probably had to at least be somewhat decent for other hespierdon to consider even bonding with them.
Denise caught up to Haruki at last, walking alongside him. Her brown eyes looked about, her ears lifting up to catch small sounds that might be made by a mouse. "They must be somewhat good, if you eat them. Yes?" She still didn't think they would be good but every minya was different and some foods appealed to some but not to others and she had to accept that even if she didn't want to.

Haruki eyed her. She was trying he would give her that but she just seemed so unsure about the whole thing. "Yes they are tasty and I love the way the bones crunch but thats me. Why don't you just go home now and get a meal you'll like? I can't see someone like you liking this stuff." He sighed trying to be helpful to her but failing horribly.
