Nahanni's fur literally lifted and remained that way to the description given. Cold powder? That sounded...most uncomfortable. Coated over your fur and stinging you with it's moistness, pasting your legs to the ground. The witch shook her head, trying to dislodge that image. Tails curled in under and around her feet as Iku too stood up. Ears perked and eyes widened to the option planned. She had considered it before, but hadn't been so incline to follow through. It had seemed too disconnected and challenging for her to accomplish. "Can I come with you?"
Jaw clenched shut after that blurt. The cold had apparently disconnected her thoughts from her speech as well. Her paws shifted weight in a patient manner, wondering who should move or speak first. Her tongue and stomach were in faint knots, trying to forget her little error. "Sorry. I just....don't want to sit out here. And I'm not ready to go home..."

Throughout their relationship, Iku hadn't known her to be so forward. It was a rare occurance, but one he honestly thought little of. It wouldn't have taken him nearly the extended silence it did to answer the simple 'yes' he had planned were it not for the obvious discomfort in her manner now. He didn't quite understand what was worrying her now. So, in his own muses on the manner, he nearly missed when she began to speak again (not that her tiny voice helped much). Ears strained forward in a sudden reaction, knowing they had to be attent to catch all of what she would say. Sorry? Figuring her done now, ears flicked back to their resting position.
"There's no need to be sorry, dear Nahanni," he responded. Were it anyone but her, his attempts to be comforting would've been false. But the still slight awkwardness made this attempt genuine. "I don't mind if you come." Stretching a bit, he took a few steps around her and toward the HQ. "I could do without this weather." He commented as he stopped, half-turning back to wait.

Tails swished in what could be interpreted as delight, though Nahanni's face remained passive. She had figured a raised brow, or slow shake of the head to her blundering. So she was grateful to have a location to get out of the wind. And at least it wouldn't have been as quiet and dull as her going there on her own.
She blinked and lifted her frame to a less huddled set, the reds of her ears lifting more alertly. "Oh, coming." The girl was shocked to find herself almost...happy? There were certainly no knots in her tummy, and that was uncommon. And Iku had said "dear", so he mustn't be mad about the last visit. Right? Nahanni shook away any doubts seeping in her mind, padding forward to catch up with the other. "Umm, which HQ do you prefer?" Would he stay there all of winter?

As she moved to catch up, he moved to leave. The question stopped him, though, causing that brow to raise as he looked back. Trained paws had begun to automatically carry him to the Realm HQ. Not often did he journey to the Mountain and only once or twice had he stayed in the HQ up there. It was essentially the same, he thought. So, preference. He didn't have one. Shrugging lightly, he looked back for forth between the opposite directions.
"I've never much thought about it," he revealed, looking back to her. Why has she asked, did she have a preference, herself? "Either is fine with me, if you'd rather stay at one or the other." If they went up to the Mountain, it would be difficult to say if he could make the journey back before the first snowfall. Not that he really cared.

Had she asked an odd question? Nahanni blinked to herself as she kept walking. She herself had been to both buildings on few occasions. Not much to brag about on either location, and she had no preference to either. Compared to her home, they were like storage spaces....an odd but true enough thought.
Her hair shook with her reply. "No, I hadn't meant that. I was just asking." It was highly doubted too that either of them wanted to walk that far in this weather. Maw sealed shut, now empty of any opinions. She was just eager to get out of reach from the chilly air that lashed to the side every few moments.

Paws picked up again, taking him with her. Realm HQ it was, he supposed. They were closer, anyway. As they walked he looked around, noting little things like how the fallen leaves grew less and less the further from the trees they went. And he took it upon himself to step on as many of the crinkled brown things as possible in his bitter way.
The cold gusts of wind here and there would've made the trip seem long. However, focusing so fully on the ground and his paws, it didn't take much time at all. Blank eyes stared up at the looming structure, feeling a pang of disdain for the place and the creatures inside. "And here we are," he muttered indifferently, glancing toward the door. "After you."

Her own tan feet followed the trail Iku made, even stepping on the shaddered remains of the leaves he crossed. Though with less reason and force than Iku had crushed them with. Where he seemed to drift from the realms of time, Nahanni stayed in focus to the long trail. Someone had to, right? She knew she never liked being defenseless or unaware of her surroundings. The scratch on her wrist was enough motivation to that.
Brown ruff fluffed in the wind as Nahanni peered to the building. One ear flicked to the voice next to her. He didn't want to go in? Murky eyes peeked sheepishly to the other kitsu. "We can find a different room if you want?" Still, she herded up the steps and towards the door so not to make him wait. Neither of them liked a packed space, so if that was the case, they could roam the halls to find something better.

Ikuinen followed, wordless at first, but contemplating her question. It was a good thing they both felt the same about crowds. He'd be all too willing to take a walk around the unclustered halls of the HQ if need be. Pushing through the door after her, he looked around. There were a few Kitsu here and there. It surprised him, actually. For as cold as it was, he expected the place to be packed. Trust the foolish adult of the world to be prancing around during the autumn season and playing in the fallen leaves.
"It's not too bad, I suppose," he said quietly, still looking around. White eyes scanned around until they reached her once more. "But I wouldn't mind finding a less crowded place, if you'd prefer."

No familiar faces. Nahanni couldn't tell if she was displeased or content. Just grateful to be out of the wind. Ears flickered at all the new noises compared to outside. Eyes peeked at Iku, a hint of skepticism deep in to where she was unaware. He was asking her to lead? In even something as simple as opinions, Nahanni always stumbled. "It...it's up to you." She'd be happy with a corner, if anything. The indoor warmth spurred a yawn from her, and she shook to keep her body from feeling the same fatique. Besides, she found another question she was curious to ask.

Opinionated was something he could rightfully say he was. Whether that was a good thing to be or not was a completely different matter. So, when she side-stepped around the decision and passed the reigns onto him, he took them wordlessly, starting off towards one of the couches on the far side of the room. It was unoccupied and looked the furthest away from the groups of clustered conversationists. When outside, the ground was just fine, but inside, he found himself drawn to the cushions. Just one moment when he disdainfully allowed himself to get comfortable. On the way, he was forced to bite his tongue to keep in a contageous yawn. Comfort was fine at times, but sleep was most spited and kept away for as long as possible. Hopping up, he immediately laid down, forepaws settled over the edge.

The kitsu peered warily aroun dthe main room, like a mouse in a room full of cats. She trailed close behind the lightening pelted male until they made destination. Sizing up the piece of furniture, she was surprised that it had been left untouched. At least it was pulled away from the center of the room and the midst of echoing voices. Her drifted attention was pulled back when she heard the sound of fur on fabric, watching as Iku got comfortable. Nahanni paused a moment, before moving in and sitting quietly on the ground in front of the furniture. She was too used to being under or behind them to sit properly on one. So, she leaned against it's front, head some inches from Iku's lounging paws, and tails curled close to her paws. "Hmm, it's so much warmer indoors."

Watching her settle, he wondered idly why she didn't join him atop the couch. Though it seemed a rather random thing to question, so he kept it in. Besides, he could recall a similar situation from the past. She'd still been a kit then. Or maybe a teen. He couldn't quite remember her age, only that she remained below, on the floor and looking up. Setting his head on his paws, he huffed out a sigh. "It is," he responded, automatically quieting his voice to make up for the close proximity of maw and ear. There wasn't much else to say to that statement. He wholly agreed. "Perhaps spring with come with a quickness." But considering how generous this year's weather had been, it was possible the winter would be less forgiving.

Has it been that long ago? Nahanni wasn't one to keep track of time, even if it was a familiar memory. That was her first adventure outside the home, and Iku was the first kitsu she had ran into. Along with another kit...but she hadn't seen the other since, sadly. One ear flicked at the breath created with words. "I hope it does, I'm not enjoying the cold." She may have to pull blankets in the library at this rate. The memory of home made her slouch. "Iku...is it a bad thing, having kits?" She remembered all his bitter words of guiding young ones. What she was....in all honesty concerned of, was if her sisters were bad. Kits were now in the picture, again, and she didn't know how to take it in.

Was having kits bad? Well, Ikuinen honestly wasn't sure how to answer that question. Kits themselves weren't bad. They were the most innocent. The only reason they grew up to be foolish adults was because of the equally foolish adults that didn't raise and teach them properly. In his opinion, kits were really better off staying out of this horrible world, even if it meant they were... never to exist. Something clenched inside of him. "I think..." the start was unusually hesitant. "I think most adults cannot raise kits properly." Okay, so that wasn't really an answer to her question. Let's try this again. "I think it is... not alright to have kits unless one can raise them properly." Why was it so hard? Giving his opinion was one of the things he was actually good at. Something told him a blunt answer would've upset her, despite the fact that it went against his being to hold one back.

Nahanni listened as closely as possible. She was mildy surprised to hear a pause in his normally collected lecture. Murky orbs blinked to his first answer. So it was about the parents and raising? Had her parents done okay? She liked to think so, and at the most gave them credit for raising ten children.
Her face was blank as he corrected himself, and she gave him a soft glance. He wasn't lying, that was an obvious truth. "I see." She prayed her sisters and their mates were capable. It felt awful to be so doubtful in the first place.
