Kaze snorted, his shoulders relaxing as he waved her over to the Terrace. As he walked behind her, Sakura bowed gently, welcoming her.

"My apologies, miss Musei-My son is overcautious about those who are invited without his knowing. There have been attempts in the past to harm my husband and myself within these very walls."
She nodded, "Take a seat, if you would."

Before she could even do as lady Sakura asked, Kaze had sat down, crossing his legs and closing his eye's annoyedly.

Sakura raised an eyebrow, "You'll have to forgive his lack of manners as well-It has been quite some time since we have had so many guests here." She smiled, sitting down, "Is there any sort of Tea you would prefer to have? My son and his young friend were here for that very purpose. Had I known this, I would have seen to it that there were a meal. But, I'm afraid all that we have are sweets at the moment. I made sure that they would arrive with the tea, it should be here momentarily."

(ooc: sneaking a post from work ninja )

Kaela watched as an event that could have gone wrong unfolded. She focussed on the woman coming towards the terrace, thinking back on her reaction. She wondered if the woman was afraid of Kaze. But what confused Kaela was Kaze himself. If this visitor was an invited guest then why didn't Kaze know that? Perhaps he doesn't have a close relationship with the people of the estate. Or maybe someone simply neglected to tell him. Either way she just now found out that Kaze was a poor judge of presence. Though Lady Ryū had explained why he was so jumpy about guests, Kaela could easily see that the visitor bared no malcontent about her, stern though her expression seemed. She prepared to greet the oncoming woman. But first she had to let Lady Ryū know something: "Ah! Lady Ryū, about those hibiscus you offered me. I'm afraid I must decline. I wouldn't have anywhere to put them since I'm only boarding at the academy."

The redness in her face was already gone, as if she had turned off a switch. She looked normal again and spoke calmly as she usually does. However, she was also hiding the fact that she was starting to feel weak. The tension in the air just now gave her an odd feeling in her stomach, akin to hunger. Kaela didn't know that though and tried to play off the situation. She turned to Lady Ryū, smiling and said "would you like me to help you with the tea Lady Ryū?"

It seemed Kaela forgot she's a guest, not used to being served. However, she was sure that Lady Ryū wouldn't be upset. Such a short time around her and Kaela was already comfortable with her presence. It also seemed that Kaela forgot she had to introduce herself to the new guest as well!

Sakura nodded, "That would be lovely dear-And if you ever wish for a fresh bouquet of flowers, I am always happy to accomodate." She smiled as Kaze took a seat, scowling a little as he closed his eyes...He must have known something was wrong-She never invited a guest without telling him or her husband first. Well...she was sure Kaze would be just as un-pleased with how the situation was about to unfold.

"Now then, Miss Musei-If we might be allowed to skip the pleasantries and get straight to business." Kaze's eye's opened at this, his eye's going to the foreign newcomer.

'I knew something was wrong here,' Kaze thought to himself, 'This woman had a certain presence about her the moment she entered...she's here for something...something Mother wouldn't wish to inform me of before-hand.' It wasn't that Kaze had poor judgement-As he used to be, one had to judge a person by looking at them quite often. And he knew that there was a reason this woman was here, and doubted he would like it. But what would be said next would make Kaze nearly jump out of his skin.

"We have spoken before, and Agreed upon the fee. Now I believe it is time for the introductions. Musei, Karei-This is my Son, Ryu, Kaze. Kaze, miss Musei shall be your guardian from this day forth. She shall accompany you throughout the bulk of your training, and watch over you on a day-to-day period."

Kaze's face had now gone from it's normal color, to a pinkish tinge of red...He was no longer happy with this situation. "...Explain to my WHY It is I did not kill her the moment she entered this estate for such purpose?"

"Hm, Kaze...Forgetting our guests for a moment, I will be honest with you-I have noticed your day-to-day activities, and your increasing violence towards the members of the Seireitei. While I am not so displeased that I would cast you out of this house, I am still your mother-And I will not tollerate such behavior. You, young man, shall abide by the rules of the Clan-You must help all of those around you while showing them respect, no matter their status or rank. You are the Noble Son of the House of Ryu, and I will no longer tolerate you acting like a hooligan-You disgrace our family name in doing such." Of course, that wasn't the real reason she was hiring an escort...it wasn't that Kaze was tarnishing the name of the house-Those who truly knew of their line would understand...but it was for his own safety that she worried. He had become more reckless and violent than she had ever seen him before...and she was afraid that if she did not do something to stop, or at least negate some of his behavior, he would not survive...and she could not live with herself if that happened.

Kaze stared at his mother as if she were the devil himself. While he believed she was right on the issues, he didn't care-It was his life. But then...he couldn't stand to see her suffer, especially by his own actions...and that she had to do this by her own, he knew she must have spent long nights suffering his indignations. And so, it was with a heavy heart that he spoke his next words, and forced his mother's lips into a smile. "I understand, Mother...I will honour thy wishes, and trust thy judgement..." He looked at Musei again for a moment, snuffing a little, "But that does not mean I shall enjoy this..."

Sakura smiled at her son gently...so he truly did understand. She nodded after a moment, clearing her throat. "Well then, she will get started tomorrow." 'While she may not be a true sheath to him,' She thought to herself, 'She could act like one...until the time my son truly does find one who can keep him from being a drawn sword...' And at that moment, a female servant came out, carrying a large tray of Tea and cups, walking up the terrace and to the Lady Ryu, holding the tray out before her. "Thank you, Sati, dear. I truly apologize for any inconvenience." The Servant shook her head with a smile-She did not talk much, but it could be seen that she respected the lady greatly for her kindness. And so, lady Ryu began to set things up on the table up, Kaze staring at his new accompanying partner. He was sure he would not enjoy this...not a bit.

Lady Ryū's words were quite peculiar to Kaela. The idea of Kaze having a guardian isn't surprising considering his status. What had taken Kaela aback was the look of his guardian. She looked closer at the woman who had just arrived. A guardian is a protector, right? Kaela thought to herself. Unless there was a concept she wasn't understanding; Kaela was convinced that this woman had no business guarding anyone. She was smaller than Kaze and seemed less imposing. Certainly she wasn't intimidating in her appearance and she was obviously still a student, zanpaktou or not. The whole prospect confused Kaela so much that she had forgotten about the tea that just arrived, or her feeling of hunger.

Kaela greeted Kaze's visitor kindly, bowing she said: "Please excuse my interruption of your meeting. I didn't know the family had business today. I'm Aihara, Kaela."

Kaela returned to standing up straight after greeting her and spoke normally, or so it seemed.... "I don't mean to insult but how are you qualified to guard someone stronger than you?" Kaela's voice was the usual calm but her eyes were dead serious.

She continued: "I don't think you have the ability for that position."

Turning to face Lady Ryū Kaela said: "I'm sorry Lady Ryū, I don't mean to doubt your decisions. But this woman is unfit for master Kaze." She lowered her head slightly before lady Ryū and then showed her her palm. In Kaela's hands were two hairpins.

"I removed the hairpins from the sides of her hair and she didn't notice. I also don't think that you should pair them because they are so alike. Please forgive my rudeness Lady Ryū, but I felt I must be honest. If I'm wrong please correct me." Kaela hung her head while speaking to Kaze's mother.

She felt bad that she just did that, knowing it wasn't her place. She knew she could probably be forcefully removed from the estate. She also knew that her actions would greatly upset the woman who she hadn't even given a chance to introduce herself. But she was really worried that Lady Ryū's expectations would not be met. If perhaps, Kaela had learned how to deal with nobles then maybe this event wouldn't have happened.

Karei, apon approaching the others, offered a bow of her head in the general direction of both Lady Ryu and Kaela. She took a seat as Kaze had, listening to everything that was said between them, and mother and son, folding one hand in the other on her lap. Through it all she remained silent so as not to seem rude to Lady Ryu. After all, she was a guest here, though she felt a twinge of irritation as she heard him talk about killing her, but kept herself from showing it as best she could, merely keeping her stare on him...

Then Karei's eyes turned to Kaela as she spoke up, again offering a bow of her head to Kaela as she introduced herself and greeted her, then listened on as she began to voice her feelings about her business here, eyes following along as she began explaining everything, as well as show her proof of why she thought as she did. Karei didn't seem to mind though. She was still an academy student, after all, and apparently miss Aihara was much faster, herself. Still, she remained silent, not showing any irritation through it all. The conversation was now between Lady Ryu and Kaela... If the decision isn't swayed, I wonder how much of my presence he'll be able to tolerate before simply attacking me out of sight of Lady Ryu... She thought to herself, looking down at the cup infront of her. Or maybe he won't and will just deal with it, hating every second of it. Still, I suppose it would be troublesome stopping him from starting things and protecting him, as entertaining as it would be watching him simply hate me being around now...

Lady Sakura listened to Kaela's words, but the entire time, she wasn't watching her mouth...she was watching her eye's, and while she kept a calm presence about her, the inside of her mind was churning.

'Those eye's...I have seen eye's like that before...'
And her mind searched through memory, trying to find exactly where it was she had... She then looked to Kaze, who still had his eye's closed, a scowl on his face.

And as Kaela produced the pin's, Sakura's eye's diverted to them. Her expression did not change, but there was a slight production of unease within her. 'This woman must be watched...and she must be watched carefully.'

On the other hand, Kaze was now looking at the pins, and had a small smile on his face, leaving his mother to wonder just what it was he was planning. Sakura shook her head slightly, "Well, I must appologize, but I have paid this woman her fee for the start. We have an oath, and it is one I am lithe to break. A Noble woman keeps her word. But, I will take your words deeply into consideration, my dear." She had hoped that the matter would come to rest with those words-But then Kaze did something remarkably like himself...

"Very well then," Kaze said, "If that is how it is, then...I would ask you to accompany me, My lady. I shall pay you the rate my mother has set, plus a bonus every month...that is, if you would be so generous as to accept my offer, kind lady." And with that, Kaze stood up, taking Kaela's hand, and kissing the back of it gently. While this wasn't quite a move to spite his mother, there was a plan formulating within Kaze's mind...one Lady Sakura knew nothing of.

"HUH?!?! Wait, what?? Kaela was truly stunned by Kaze's sudden actions. Her eyes open wide and her face was red. It was the first time a man had ever spoken to her like that, and her first kiss.....

NO WAY! IT DOESN'T COUNT!!! Well certainly not the first kiss she had wanted, but it really didn't count that way. But what was Kaze thinking? Behaving like that in front of his guest and his mother. As if he was trying to say to Lady Ryū that he had a better choice in mind. Wait, is he using me to get back at his mother? When did I become a toy? Kaela started thinking irrationally. Or perhaps she was right.

But while she was perplexed, Kaze was looking way too smug. She wondered if miss Musei was insulted. If she would drop the stagnant look from her face then there was no way for Kaela to guess. Kaela also knew that Lady Ryū wasn't simply going to let Kaze get away with this. Payment or not, Kaela didn't want to get caught in the middle of a family debacle. However, it seemed she was already too late. As she turned to look at Lady Ryū, she noticed the same look that her father sometimes showed. It was a parents way of saying "so you think you've won, eh?"

Karei merely continued to watch, silently observing everything going on. The way Lady Ryu looked at the Kaela for the moment, the words that she said in response. Honestly, to her it didn't seem to matter much. As soon as she came here, Kaze had threatened to attack her so she was already irritated with him, and now it appeared the job of guarding him would be given to someone else who'd apparently removed some hairpins from her hair? She didn't remember putting them in... Maybe her mind was slipping. Usually she went with her hair straight, not even using hairpins at all, just keeping her hair back behind her shoulders...
[As explained in the profile, but I should have put it in the post when entering the RP.]

In either case, anything she had to say would likely just be spat on again by Kaze, who apparently accepted the business his mother had told him about, but had just now decided to, in his own way, object yet again. She picked up the cup infront of her, holding it in both hands. At this rate he'll have a crowd of women following him around... She thought to herself before sipping from the cup. Her expression remained unchanging as if nothing seemed to bother her. Either way things seemed to be alright with her. Either she was payed to hang around and guard him, or she wasn't and she didn't have to spend time around him. Still... The money would be nice to have....

stare

Sakura was anything but pleased with the way her son was acting now. She had some idea of the semblance of his plan...and she would have to take some counter measures. But for now...

"Very well, if she accepts your offer, I have no qualms with it. But it is her decision-And not one you should force her into. Let the girl decide on her own."

Kaze smirked a little, putting on his most dashing smile as he looked at Kaela. "Well then, I suppose I shall have to just let her decide." His smile was a charming one, and all he could hope is that no one discovered just what it is he sought out of this.

Kaela stared straight at Kaze. She had now calmed down and was looking at him with narrowing eyes. After thinking about the offer for less than ten seconds she him answered plainly: "No. I'm not going to be used so you can get back at your mother. And I'm sticking to what I said about having a guardian that's stronger than you are: my protection alone isn't enough. And you look ridiculous."

It seems the delicate situation would just keep getting worse. I should have never said anything. She was probably already in over her head by now. Guessing from the calm smile Lady Ryū had the situation would just continue to intensify.

I'm going to end up doing this anyway, I just know it.

Karei merely kept her stare on her cup of tea while the conversation continued. She was unsure about adding to it just yet while processing everything in her head. Then she merely closed her eyes and took another sip of the tea. She concluded in her thoughts that it was boiling down to nothing more than an argument now. She wasn't going to get involved... Infact it was Kaela getting involved in this business that got the argument started in the first place, knowing how Kaze felt about it originally. She should have known this would set him off, given his initial reaction to hearing what was said, which wasn't really her business anyway.

Again, she settled the cup down infront of herself, preparing to hear things escalate into a full blown argument with whatever reaction Kaze would have to Kaela's choice of words.

"No deception," Kaze said calmly, "I wish to have you with us. For all we know, this woman could actually be a spy...notice how she keeps her moves calm and controlled...a normal body guard would have sprang up and been offensive. This woman could very well be after my life, or the life of someone within this household...I would not put it past someone with seemingly no emotions to be a spy, much less an assassin." Kaze nodded.

His mother looked at him blankly for a moment, and then her eye's narrowed. 'I see,' She thought calmly, 'So that is his plan...clever, Kaze...'

"I shall not allow you to speak of other's like that...even if there may be some semblance of truth to your words. If the young lady does not wish to do this, Kaze, then she shall not be forced into it. Especially not by you."
Sakura sipped her tea...perhaps this would be good for Kaze. She would now wait, and see how the young lady responded...

Kaela sat down in the chair next to her, sighing and with her face in her right palm. A clever trick: if Kaze was right and she didn't take this offer then how would she feel knowing that she could have helped? She honestly wished she could've proved him wrong but she didn't know anything about miss Musei and her nonchalant attitude didn't help at all. She thought about it for what seemed like ages in her head before finally looking up at Kaze. She sighed again before she spoke: "Fine, I'll assist you."

This gamble had a loss that was just too high to risk. So Kaela got tricked into a job she didn't even know how to do. She looked at Kaze who was probably having the most smug grin of his life. And what would Lady Ryū do about this? Some first day in Seireitei this was turning out to be.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 10, 2007 5:36 pm

To what would probably be her surprise, Kaze was smiling. To those who didn't know him, it was his greatest form for expressing gratitude...and it wasn't something he did often. He nodded, the smile vanishing, and looked to his mother. "There, then, it's all set."

Sakura sighed, waving her hand, "Very well then-Do as you wish. But you will cause miss Musei no trouble in the meantime-Do you understand me?"

"Now mother," Kaze said calmly, "When have you known me to ever cause trouble?" And with that, she raised her head, a scowl on her face, as he smirked at her. Today was an interesting day, indeed.
