Chaf tilted her head slightly, trying to come up with a reason for a mother not caring for their children. "Well, sometimes... not all hares are nice and loving like your mama, y'know. It's sad, but true. You're very lucky." She nodded once firmly. "The best way to explain it is... well, some moms are just bad at being moms."
After several seconds of considering adding on to her answer, she decided it was enough for a young kit. Mn would understand more when she was older, maybe. For now, though, Chaf didn't need to completely destroy the child-like bliss. "So if your mama worries so much, why are you out here all alone? Shouldn't you be getting back soon? I'm sure she'd be wanting to see that you're safe."

Mnyama stared at Chafi with confused pink eyes, trying to understand what she was saying. The kitten didn't know much about the way things worked, or how you had kittens.. but in her mind, no one would become a mother if they weren't going to be good at it. Or.. weren't going to at least love their babies.
Her toes stopped wriggling when Chafi started a very familiar lecture. Mnyama managed to keep her eyes from rolling, and decided she wouldn't stick around if this was where it was going.
"I guess," she mumbled.

Chaf nodded again. "Then I'll be seeing you around?" She took a half step forward, a sparkle in her eye. She really liked the idea of running into the kit when she was a bit older for some reason. Maybe it was just that she didn't often run into any hare more than once. There seemed to be so many of them around the Pridelands, and she was always moving around the territory...
Her thoughts trailed off to the possibility of talking to a lion. Mn had sort of inspired her to track one down and have a converstaion, see what life was like for big cats and all. She should do that today! Or maybe not. But soon, soon would be nice. Just for curiosity sake. "You know the way back home, then, right? It was great meeting you."

"Ok," Mn agreed, smiling sweetly and remembering her manners, "It was nice to meet you, Chafi." She might be interested in seeing Chafi again, maybe when she was big enough that she didn't have to worry about being lectured about not being at home with her mother. What a boring life that would be, hiding away at home with mama.
"Yes, I know my way back," she assured the older hare, and took a moment to scratch her ear before hopping away. She wasn't going in the right direction to go home, but Chafi needn't know that.
