In Out of the Cold
The twins had found themselves taken from the park by a man with a strange hand that looked almost like a cats paw. They were a bit facinated by it as they had fluffy hands and feet that were similar to his. The pair of them had been reluctant to leave the place as they wanted to stay at the park, wanted to continue their vigil. They were waiting for someone and there was the problem of missing her if they were to leave. They had gone because it was starting to get colder at night, harder to find food during the day, and there were more and more people searching for them. If they were picked up by the police there was no telling what might happen.
They found themselves given a warm room with two beds in it to stay in. It was a nice room and they were given access to a room that had all kinds of fun toys in it but they were wary. Why would the man with the cat paw want to bring them to such a nice place? Surely there was a reason? They were to young though to figure out exactly what that might be. So instead of worrying themselves over it they decided to partake of the good, warm food, they rested in the soft beds, and they had fun with the toys.
They had even learned something that was of the utmost importance to their young minds. There were other kids here to that they might be able to meet! The idea of getting to play with kids their own age without worry of parents causing them problems made the twins quite happy!
Once they were well rested they would consider the idea of going to play with the other kids. It all depended on if they could get over their skittishness.

Goldfur
The twins seemed to like Goldfur, it was no doubt a combination of the way that the boy was older, stronger, faster, and a canine that they looked up too. It wasn't just a power thing though, they genuinely liked him. He seemed really kind and he'd played with them and even answered all of the questions that they had asked of him.
The pair were curled up together in the makeshift tent, snoozing away after the fun meeting with him dreaming about the idea that their mother might in fact find them here. After all Caleb's daddy had come here to get him so what was stopping their mother?

Snaketail
The twins were pretty in awe of this guy, having a touch time deciding what he was since he was kinda scaly and there are many scaly creatures in the world. It was a toss up between alligator and crocodile though both figured it couldn't be dragon since they weren't real. The twins were proven wrong when they met Ves's friend Omarr.
Ves helped the twins to learn the fine art that was swimming which both of the boys enjoyed completely. Swimming was one of those things that they had only ever heard about and thought about doing. The idea of actually being able to do the activity was exciting!
The two of them seem to like and trust Snaketail.

Mentor Visit 1
Akuji was a bit surprised with the summons that she had gotten to say the least. After all she really hadn't thought of herself as 'Mommy' material to a kid before today and to find out that there wasn't one kid but instead that there were going to be a set of them. She gave a bit of a sighing sound as she hurried to the room that she had been told to go to. Surely it was some sort of mistake that the people would realize upon seeing her. She didn't look the part of a parent that was for sure, she didn't exactly know how to cook in that Betty Crocker sort of way, and what if she dropped one of them? Or lost one? She gave a worried sound before she opened up the door to the room that she was supposed to having the meeting in.
She paused at the door looking around but didn't see any kids, there was a woman there with a clipboard but nobody else... or at least didn't think so at first. The one with the clipboard motioned with her pen towards a crudely built tent that consisted of a large, colorful sheet placed over some chairs. She gave a bit of a smile remembering making such things with her brother when she was younger. She walked over to the tent, the heels of her boots clicking as she walked. It seemed to alert the ones withing the tent as she could see movement, and the tent flaps opened just a little so that she could see two large, blue eyes starring out at her. It took her a moment to realize that the eyes belonged to two separate people instead of just one and that they were starring at her, hard.
"Umm... Hello there." She said, giving a little wave.
The tent flaps closed.
"Wow! Did you see that! Shes like a rainbow!" One voice from within squealed.
"Couldn't have been her real hair color." The other said.
"Kinda pretty." Both decided before peeking back out at her again both asking in unison, "What is your name?"
Akuji had stopped to stare at the tent, making a bit of a face. She looked like a rainbow? She lifted a hand to her two tone hair before she brushed her bangs back out of her eyes. Well at least they seemed to think that she was pretty, that wasn't she minded and she supposed she couldn't be upset she was done up in bright colors at the moment, "My name is Akuji, what about the two of you?"
"I'm Uri."
"I'm Lucius"
The voices spoke at the time and were so very similar that she had a hard time telling them apart, "How did you make your eyes look like that?" One of them asked drawing her out of her thoughts.
"My eyes? Oh, contacts." She said, lifted a hand to her eye to take it out and revealed to the pair that underneath the bright colors were plain, brown eyes. She then put it back.
"Wow!" They both squealed and the tent closed again so that they could discuss this new discovery among themselves.
Akuji blinked when she found herself starring at the side of the tent again, "Are you two planning on coming out to meet me? Or can I come in to meet you?" She asked of the two boys.
There was a long, drawn out silence before the twins peeked out, "Why do you want to meet us?" They asked sounding a bit more suspicious of her now.
Akuji blinked, "Ahh, well I was selected to come in to meet you and see about taking you in. You know, adopting you."
They stared at her blankly before turning to look at each other, "Adopt us?" Both said in each other, then seemed to be thinking hard on the idea. Didn't that mean going home with someone and that person becoming your Mommy or Daddy...? They weren't sure on how to respond to that. They had a Mommy already... she hadn't come to see them here though, hadn't come to pick them up here, and hadn't picked them up when they were waiting for her at the park either, "What happened... to our Mommy that makes us need a new one?" They asked up Akuji.
She shook her head, "I don't know... I wish I did." She murmured, if she knew then she would go and find the women that left the two sweeties and she would beat the life out of her. There was no reason at all why the woman should just abandon her children! Akuji took a deep breath to keep from getting enraged or from saying something stupid out loud.
"Are we... allowed to think about it?" They asked quietly.
Akuji nodded, "I don't see why not, they wouldn't put you with me if you didn't want me." She said.
Another long pause and the tent flap was opened up for her. She gave a smile before she crawled inside the little area with the pair, "Well now, are you two just the cutest little things." She said, reaching a hand over to pet one of their tails as if wanting to check if the tail was real or not. The one she pet giggled and the tail set to wagging in a delighted manner. Even if they were hesitant to allow the woman to become their new parent they didn't seem to mind just hanging out with her as friends.

Techie L's Notes
While at first Akuji doesn't exactly look the part of a Mentor with her brightly dyed hair and odd style of clothing but seemed to do well in the meeting. She didn't push the boys in any manner and answered their questions no matter how strange the question or how it was presented to her. When asked by the twins to be allowed time to think about being adopted by her she agreed to it not trying to influence their decision in any way. I think she may do well we will see at the next meeting.

Mentor Reflection
"How would you describe your mentoree?"
They are a rather cute pair though they seem a bit unsure of things. I guess thing because they wanted to think about me taking them in and even more important they were hiding when I got there.
"What does he/she like or dislike especially?"
They seemed to my bright colors and were rather impressed with the fact that I could remove the color from my eyes by removing a contact. They seemed to dislike the fact that I am not their mother and that it seems as if shes not coming back.
"What behavioral problems do you think he/she may have?"
Not sure... I would think if anything I would see the hiding as a problem. You can't really meet people or work things out if your hiding.
"How are you planning on coping with or correcting them?"
I don't see that as something I can correct unless I can gain their trust. From there maybe introduce them to new people so that they can get used to the idea of being around others without hiding?
"What is your current lifestyle like?"
It can be busy at times.
"Can you accomadate a child?"
I think so. I have the funds, space, and the desire to try if given the chance.
"Do you have other children and how might they react?"
Do immature friends count? LOL But no, no other children.
"How do you think other members of your household will react?"
I think it will be an interesting sort of reaction by them to the introduction of children into our chaos. I think it would be fine though, fun as well.
"Why do you think you would make a good mentor?"
I have no idea. All I can think of is that both myself and my house mates are willing to give the Mentor thing a try.

Mentor Visit 2
Akuji would be honest, she was rather surprised when she was called back a while later to have another meeting with the twins. There had to be people out there more suitable in looks and job to her to raise the pair. It wasn't that she was against it but instead that she was so very unsure of herself, what if she made a bad caretaker? There was a time where she'd accidentally killed a cactus because she'd over watered it... She walked along down to a new room this time, she was given the number and it seemed to be a gym of some sort. She stepped inside and watched the two boys as they ran laps around a rather large track. The two of them were running side by side but one could tell by their eyes that they were trying their hardest to get ahead in the race.
They seemed close, inseparable even but she could also tell there was still a bit of that sibling rivalry going on. She looked down at the information that she was given regarding the twins. They had features and blood of wolves in their veins she'd read, she wondered if their racing, their rivalry was going to get worse as they got older. Weren't wolves one of those pack animals? That meant that they choose a leader among themselves... she wondered if that meant that she was going to have to establish herself as leader to keep them from fighting among themselves? She guess time would tell.
"Uri! Lucius! Hello!" She called, lifting a hand up to wave.
The twins nearly tripped over themselves as they heard a familiar voice, the one that belonged to the pretty rainbow lady! They were soon running towards here instead of just following the track, "You came again?" Both sounded almost surprised by it. It had been a couple of weeks since her last visit and they were young so time seemed to flow differently for them. Weeks felt like forever and ever to them!
"Of course. They called me and asked if I wanted to visit again and I told them yes." She said, kneeling down so that she was closer to their level.
Both seemed quite impressed by this, "We are glad." They both said.
Akuji gave a smile, watching them closely. One of the notes about them was the fact that they talked often in unison. It was strange to read but more so to hear two people speaking the same words at the same time without even thinking about it, without even looking at each other. They must be so close. She reached her hands out to ruffle their hair, "I'm glad too, so did you think about what we talked about last time?"
The pair looked at one another and back at her, "Ahh... we aren't sure... what if our Mommy comes back?" Uri asked.
"We aren't at the park and we won't be here..." Lucius added.
The both said a bit sadly, "She will never find us." Their ears laid back and their tails ceased their wagging.
Akuji reached out to wrap her arms around them, pulling them in to snuggle them, "Shhh, its alright. I am sure if she wanted to find you she would come here and they would tell her where to find you." She said, hoping to assure them.
The two snuggled closer to her, tails starting to wag again. The tone of her voice made them want to believe her and if she wanted to take care of them until their mother appeared again they were all for it, "O-Ok... if its ok with everyone we would... would like to go with you." The pair murmured against her chest.
"I will talk with them and see what they say." She murmured quietly, there was a part of her that hoped their mother never showed back up. If she did there was no telling what Akuji would say or do...

Journal EntryAkuji So I was asked to fill out a sort of journal entry and here we go. The twins are seeming to adjust to the third change in environment in a short period of time. They went from living with their mother to living in a park to living where I met them to living with me. I am actually rather impressed with how well they are taking it. All I need to do now it try my hardest to provide them with a stable home so that they needn't worry about when they are going to be sent somewhere else. I think they worry about that because they don't seem to want to get attach to anything or anyone in their new home. My band mates seem to like the twins well enough, they aren't the sort that are exactly child friendly given their look, speech habits, and the like but they are trying. They seem to know at least enough to know better then to curse in front of the children... well for the most part. We all have our slip ups when we get talking excitedly. hehe Even me. We are trying though, thats the first step in the right direction if you ask me. To try our hardest to make sure that everything goes well and that everyone is happy. That is about all I have to write right now, we are a busy group. We need to serious get out to the store and get the twins something new to wear. Clothing, bedding, toys, all that good stuff... I am glad that our band is doing so well it makes it so we can afford all this stuff. The message was sent and Akuji closed her laptop, "Alright everyone, lets get going we have lots to do today." She was also glad that since the band had a huge van since they often had to bring their equipment from place to place so they would have room in it for everyone to sit and there be open room still for whatever they bought. Akuji set to herding the children and the rest of the band to said van. Best to have their help when picking out things for the kids after all. She trusted their taste in clothing and the like.

Akuji looked over the note before she headed to where the boys were playing... if one could call their methods playing. She sat down on the top step, took the pen off of her cap and started to write. Return Note The twins are quite energetic, seeming always to be trying to one up each other in everything from who can run faster to who can eat their food their fastest to who is daring enough to go and poke at one of my giant of a friend June when he is sleeping. Everything is competition! Its a bit exhausting at times. Their mode of dress remains simple enough, they like to keep their feet and hands bare at all times, something about being able to 'feel the Earth' better. They aren't big fans of hats since those cover their ears and make it harder to hear. They wear matching tee shirts and shorts both of natural (browns, greens, greys) or dark colors since they are often rolling around in the dirt during one of their many wrestling matches and tend to stain up bright or light colored clothing. The boys remain as they were the moment I met them, mirror images of each other. As such to save the sanity of my friends who can't tell them as easily apart as I do... or at all in some cases, I have dyed a lock of Uri's hair green and a lock of Lucius's hair blue. They hate it as they aren't able to look exactly alike anymore but they deal with it since for the moment I remain 'alpha' of their pack. I hope that I can remain in such standing. I guess I will have to bone up on my wrestling for the day they want to challenge me. I am eager to hear about the Chimera, I will admit I am as curious as the boys are since they told me they met a dragon while living at your facility. ~ Love Akuji *there is a lipstick kiss at the bottom of the note*
