She supposed that was something, and would probably have to do for an answer. 'Yes you did..' she merely commented. 'Did it sound rhetorical? I would rather my..' How would describe her children's coming about without it sounding cold and insulting? She growled inwardly; Antony would have to see what was in him at some point, why coddle him now? 'I would rather my folly not carry on through the line. If you must breed, I would wish it to be with my kind.' She did not say their kind..her mind it didnt matter that her blood ran in his veins, she could almost sense that he was averse to everything that Kalona were.

Upon hearing Izusa's sentiments, Antony could only smile slightly, the expression imbued with just a hint of bitterness. On that subject, as always, they'd have to agree to disagree, seeing as how he viewed his kalona blood as a vile thing, the majority of the race as vermin worthy of total annihilation, and his own being as 100% 'normal'. That he was kalona was unavoidable; however, the race as a whole WAS avoidable, and if anything he'd done more to spread his genes to the non-kalona side.
But Loveless wasn't just a kalona; in fact, the fact that she WAS a kalona meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. She was an enjoyable mare that he enjoyed spending time with now that she was no longer a bitchy harridian, that happened to be a full-blood kalona. And possibly carrying his foals.
However, even thinking that thought distressed him, so he shook it off quickly, giving Izusa a non-commital shrug. "Kind is all a matter of the mind, Mother. Personally, I'd rather have kids with someone I can get along with, and it doesn't matter if she's got bat wings or butterfly wings as long as the conversation is great, the companionship is comforting, and the sex is enjoyable." Which, when he came down to it, was really all that mattered in the end; the last thing he wanted to do was cut and run if he DID have foals, and if his parents' relationship had taught him anything, it was the importance of compatibility.

Izusa regarded her son thoughtfully, running her tongue absentmindedly over the point of one fang. He would never be a 'card-carrying' Kalona, and when she had pause to think of it amongst the other aspects of her life that exacberated her it had the tendency to make her angry. So she didnt..he had her wonderful wings though, and it again it jarred that her only dutiful child looked nothing like her.
'Is it really? If she truly is a Kalona as you claim her to be, her kind will matter very much if she ever decides that she has had her fill of you.' she spoke in an absent way, her heart not truly in the conversation anymore. Her tail was starting to lash again, an unconscious mirror of her inner turmoil. 'I hunger.' Izusa sniffed the air in a delicate fashion, and she cast Antony a cold smile. 'I don't suppose you hunt either do you?'

"If she tires, she tires. I'm not going to try and keep anyone around that obvious doesn't want to, and in this case Loveless knows that. If it comes down to violence, though, I can at least hold my own, so you don't have to worry about that." If that was something she would actually worry about. Since Izusa was much less demonstrative than Guilian, Antony had grown up thinking of her as the 'introspective one.' She was certainly proud to be a kalona, and even though she said she'd never attack her kids, that didn't mean she was proud of them or even fond of them, especially the ones that seemed to flout proper kalona converntion at every turn...
Oh well. She couldn't change who she was and he couldn't change who HE was, but they could at least try to get along. For the moment. And actually that wouldn't be such a hard thing; in spite of the tenseness, so far the meeting was going rather well, at least from his perspective.
Which is why he didn't push things when she inquired after hunting. "No, Mother; you might remember how poorly those experiments went when I was a foal. I might have the teeth, but lack the palate. You go on ahead, kill an innocent animal, have fun, all that whatnot." He'd done his part, after all.

'If she managed to best you, you really wouldnt be a son of mine, so either way it is no skin off my nose.' Izusa said with a dismissive flick of one wing.
'Innocence is subjective; besides if it lives, it's in the food chain.' she replied. She recalled now of his distaste for blood and she felt herself becoming nettled again. 'And I will have fun..' she had moved close to him, and breathed the latter word right near his ear, before slinking off into the shadows behind him.

It was really rather hard to remain impassive while being hissed at from close range, especially after the inclusion of the 'really' in Izusa's previous comment. However, Antony managed to remain impassive, refraining from showing so much as a tremble of unease. Shwoing weakness accomplished nothing, after all, and he technically had nothing to worry about. Though that didn't make the situation any more comfortable.
As Izusa melted into the shadows of the trees, Antony glanced that way for a few moments, his expression thoughtful. It had been an interesting meeting, alright.
Deciding not to spend any more time analyzing just how much, Antony shook off those thoughts with a toss of his head, then murmured, "Goodbye, Mother." Turning away from the trees, he then spread his wings and took a running start into the air; his quest for nostalgia had certainly been fulfilled.
