Elijah looked up in surprise. Had she just read his mind or was he really that predictable? And was it him or did she seem to be blushing just a little bit. It was cute. Mentally, he shook his head and he returned his attention to the pictures his hands that he really wanted to see. He glanced down at the roll and then back to her again. He gently tapped the roll for a moment with a finger. He could probably lift up a corner and peak, but that would risk putting in a crease. "Hmm.. tempting, tempting. But I'll take your advice on it. I want to see it all right away."
He held out the roll for Relm to take. It was better to be surprised in these cases anyway. Taking a small peak wouldn't really show him the whole picture and it wasn't worth putting a crease in Relm's beautiful work. There was no doubt in his mind about that.

Read minds? No. That was not one of the pictomancer's skills. Read persons? Yes, she had much experience in that. But even so... it was her own precociousness projected upon him that had her guess so. It was what she would like to do. That... but mostly human nature to be curious.
Of course... had she any inkling her friend might find her blush cute the self styled 'actress' would be tempted to hang up her hat -not having seen that for all her lifetime of watching people and learning. Her fingers closed on the edge of the roll as she made a playful 'tsk' sound of disappointment that Elijah had not capitulated to her dare -it was much more fun to tease someone who bends or breaks 'rules' however small. Shaking her head Relm was smiling as she unwound the outer edge of the roll and clipped it with infinite care & tenderness to the top of her easel. With her hands Relm carefully smoothed the roll down, clipping them again at the bottom. The first picture was Elijah, playing his guitar in a sort of acoustic setting, almost folksy, very realistic. Slowly Relm lifted it to reveal the next, a modern juxtaposition of the guitar itself looking as though music was radiating from it in visual waves of sound, very symbolic. The next was Elijah & his guitar again, this time playing his song from their first and last meeting, the essence of the song represented in color & motion until one could almost hear it and definitely could recognize the song from the art if song were known. The next: darker, heavier, an action pose as if the singer were rocking out to a heavy tune on a stage before a cheering crowd. And they continued -different aspects of what Relm saw in Elijah from gentle friend to edgy rocker along different styles of painting from classic to modern & everything in between & using different mediums of paint from water color, acrylics, oils and others. There was even one cubist, though with it being the only representation of that style it was clear Relm did not care to paint much that way. Backgrounds and foregrounds were exquisite in accordance to each style, Relm's art having a realism that was uncanny. And yet... None were imbued with magic or otherwise magical. These were a display of her artistic gift, nothing more.
It was all Relm could do not to bite her tongue nervously as she showed the paintings. Her green eyes were fixed on Elijah, watching.
((blanked on ideas for the looks so I fudged it. *sheepish* If you've Ideas, feel free to run with them.))

Elijah looked over all of the pictures with great care as to not miss a single detail. To put it shortly, the dog anthro was once again stunned. The art was as he said before, brilliant. His eyes stoped on one of the pictures that were of him. She had remembered him so well... the likeness was perfect and he was flattered by it. Much better then any photograph he had ever had taken of him. The liness in the instruments and concert stages, the different techniques used in each painting. There was only one way that he could think to descibe this... "Hmm... it's on the tip of my tongue," he mumbled and tapped a finger to his chin. He snapped his fingers as it finally came to him. "Music on paper!" He grinned and looked over to Relm. "They're perfect!"
(( Hrm~ *thinks* I think the ones you described were fine though. =3 ))

A slow smile lit her face until she was fairly glowing at the praise even as a tension Relm had not realized was griping her as it had been faded & relaxed. "Music on paper..." She repeated, giggling softly in a happy/relieved/pleased sort of way. What was it about Elijah that had her acting more like a normal girl than she ever had been? Maybe because he treated her normal. It was... nice.
Mint green tail swished happily behind her. "Glad you like them!" And she was, no acting required. "But you know... if there's an element missing you'd like to see, or maybe switching styles or poses or..." The pictomancer laughed soft and warm. "You're an easy subject, Musician. I had fun with these and really I wouldn't mind doing more."

Elijah continued to look over the pieces. The thought of even more made his ears perk up a bit. "More? Really? I would like to see more. You're really good. You've done a lot already, probably enough to get a bunch of people interested, but... if you want to that would sure be great." It would be another excuse to come see her too. Sure, they were friends and they could probably go hang out whenever they felt like it, but having even more chances to go see her was nice too. And her art really was awsome.

Light brown curls bounced around her face as she nodded. "I want to." She would not have offered if she did not. She could not look at him, certain her eyes were overbright and not wanting to give the wrong impression. "I'm just really glad you like them." That was it, right? "I've never done rock posters before."
His praise made the pictomancer feel warm. It was nice. Oh sure... others liked her art. But she liked that Elijah did. "I hope they can help you get a band. I'd like to see you perform sometime."

Elijah. "Yeah I'm sure it will. It will definitly get people and anyone who plays an instrument around here's attention for sure." He frowned for a second. "I haven't ran into many people who play instruments lately. It's been kind of worrying me that no one around here, but me plays anything, but that has to be impossible right? This place has so much stuff." He shook his head, realizing he was begining to ramble about things that didn't make that much sense, mostly since he was getting off topic a little. He tended to do that when thinking about his future band. This was his first time making a band from scratch afterall by himself. "Anyway, the point is that if anyone plays an instrument around here, this will definitly grab their attention."
He looked over at one of the pictures of himself again and grinned a bit. "You know I usually hate pictures of myself, but I actually really like these. I look good for once. You're a real miracle worker." Elijah blinked, realizing he kept complimenting her. He couldn't help it though. She deserved it. Her art was really good and he really liked her. Nothing wrong with that, right?

It was kinda cute how Concern flickered across her face & settled in Relm's green eyes. "No one? Yes, I'd say that's impossible. Or at least improbable. You've just been unfortunate! Why, Trel -she's kinda like our mother hen- she plays harp. Of course though she listens to rock she doesn't play it..." Now she was rambling and paused to laugh at herself.
Then she was looking at Elija intently, trying to make sense of what he was saying. At the same time she was feeling a little dizzy from the way he kept complimenting her. "Thanks but... why wouldn't you look good, Elijah?"

He blinked and grinned, chuckling himself. "Probably. I'm not the luckiest of guys at times." He scratched the back of his head for a moment, feeling a little silly now. "Well theres someone. Trel.... she a friend of yours?" He asked curiously. Nice to hear about more musicians, even if they didn't play his style of music.
"Eh... well you know cameras. They always seem to catch you at the wrong time and I'm not very photographic I guess. But, it's different with paintings I see," He answered and shrugged. "Though the whole lack of being photographic thing might be just me..."

"Peh. Cameras." The pictomancer spat out the word distastefully. "I'm not against machines, but there's no spirit in camera work." Pause. "It's more acceptable as evidence than memory & paintings though so I suppose it has it's uses..."
Relm trailed off then impishly with a look of pure spontaneity she reached up and rubbed his right ear with her left hand. "She's more've an adoptive mom. A bard of sorts, when she's not busy with her son & the lot of us."
Just as quickly she dropped her hand and seemed to look away from Elijah -though she kept him in her periphery- as if she had not just 'pet' him at all. "So ... which of these would you like to have as cards? Or a part of the image? I suppose I could do a couple."

Elijah had been about to respond when the artist had began rubbing his right ear. His eyes widened for a split second before slowly closing half way. If he were a cat he would be puring right now. When the hand moved away he frowned in disappointment before he realized what had exactly happened. The dog's face turned bright red and he mentally cursed himself. 'Just because I'm part dog doesn't mean I should act like one... especially in front of her.' He thought, feeling pretty stupid.
He turned his attention back to the pictures, quickly. "Hard say, but I do have a few favorites." Elijah looked over the paintings in a serious manner as he tried to act like nothing had happened. He hopped Relm hadn't noticed.

Oh... she had noticed. And it was taking all her experience acting not to grin ear to ear at Elijah's reaction. Near as much control not to repeat the gesture. But Relm continued as if nothing ontoward had happened, smiling & feeling a little warm inside. "Oh? Which ones? Let me know & I can fit them down to card size. That reminds me: which way would you like the cards to go? From the few business cards I've seen they're done landscape style. Where I painted portrait style because I was not painting a landscape." The artist laughed lightly at herself. "I'll admit I forgot about the cards while I was painting, focusing on the poster look."
A faint flush of excitement touched her cheeks, easily attributed to being excited in her work. And that would be partially true at least. She wanted to paint Elijah's look of contentment... followed by that frown of disappointment. Thank goodness for her photographic memory.

"Business cards, huh? Don't worry about it. I almost forgot about those too. Landscape style should be fine for those." His former band had some business cards in that sort of style. He could still remember almost exactly what they looked like. He missed the old days with that band sometimes. The dog picked out three from the numerous display of paintings and showed them to Relm. There was the one with the singer in the action like pose, one of himself and the guitar, and the one of the guitar. "I can't decide from those three. They would all work great. Which one do you think will be best?"

Relm pursed her lips, looking between the three. "hmm... since you are looking for band members for a rock band... I'd say this one." The artist pointed to the action pose. ""The reason being, it probably shows more the rock vibe you're going for in the band." She paused. "I really am not sure how other rock musicians will react to it though." Relm was starting to consider weaving a spell into the cards when she made them but was not certain how ... or even if she should. Green eyes darted away from the paintings. A moment later she turned to Elijah with a smile. "You're the only one I know... of you were being recruited, which would make you want to join the band more, or even just call?" Her eyes twinkled merrily.

(( Hey, did you get anything recently from otter oasis(I think that's what it's called) recently? For some reason I feel like I messed up on the order form or something.
Edit: Ah good. You got it. <3 *checked* )
"Well, if you put it that way..." He pointed to the one with him in it and laughed a little. "Well I might really like it since it makes me look really cool and all, but if I go looking at a rock band audition poster or whatever with one guy in the band in it I might think it's one of those one man band things where only one guy in the group ever gets any credit. The one with the guitar is pretty awsome too, but the one with the action pose would probably bring out a better idea of what the band would be about." Elijah grinned. He felt quite proud of his little analysis over the pictures. "So that should work fine." He gave Relm a smile. If he hadn't met her, his band idea would still probably be going nowhere now. "I can't thank you enough for this you know."
