Mika sighed...this sounded pretty serious. And serious with some random guy with an attitude definetely was bad. He took a sip of his cocoa, and sighed again, looking into Ailein's eyes... Now this will be pretty nasty question, but someone has to ask it...
"..and...Ailein, what if...he doesn't want you to make him smile...?"

Ailein's honey eyes widened in realization. Was that... why he was so cold? The boy felt chilled the the bone dispite the hot drink he had. A sadness entered his eyes that rivaled heartbreak. "I....." He trailed off, unsure of how to answer.
What if...?
He looked away and decided to change the subject. "C-C-Can you he-help me fi-f-figure ou-out so-something?"

Mika took another sip of cocoa. He felt pretty bad as Ailein suddenly saddened after his words, but... It will be better this way...
"Sure." He anwsered. "What should I do?"

Embarrassed, Ailein began to fiddle with his sleeve. "I-I-I... I n-need to k-know if I'm g-g-g-ay...." He answered finally, keeping his voice low. He seemed ashamed that he had to ask. He wasn't interested in girls but he wasn't necessarily dating any men. So how did he know?

...now this was an interesting problem.
Mika was silent for quite a long while, thinking how to anwser without a bit of laughter. Ailein was really very naive, which made him a cute little beast. But now how should he deal with this situation? He camouflaged his confusion with another sip of cocoa, and finally anwsered.
"And...why do you need to know that so badly?"

"M-m-my pa-parents won't le-let me ba-back in until I f-find out wh-where my s-s-s-sexuality li-lies..." He replied he felt the embarassment grow when he realized he should know something like that. "Ho-how do I fi-find out? A-are you g-g-gay?" He asked the question as though it was a common one.

...Mika had to be really careful to not burst out laughing at the question. Though he wondered what made Ailein thinking that he might be.
"I'm afraid I don't know that." He said calmly, watching himself not to upset his friend. "There are no 'are you gay' tests, atleast not any that would give an accurate anwser. Those in teenager magazines don't count." He laughed quietly, and raised his head at Ailein. "To tell you the truth, your parents gave you a practically impossible task. There is no completely straight person, like there is no completely homosexual person. I'm not a specialist inscience or chemistry, but these are the basics that even I know. Reactions that are made in our organisms have quite a lot to say on who do we consider attractive. And when we add something as complicated as feelings...It isn't a rare case when a grown up man, fter twenty years of fine marriage without any problems, suddenly becomes horrified when he realises he's looking after a young man next door, thinking that he's attractive. But it depends on him if he tries to ignore this feeling, soon forgetting about it and still living happily with his wife, or dwells on it, thinking about it, and in the end considering more and more males attractive and deciding that thus, he must be gay." He made a short break, for another sip of cocoa, then took a deep breath and continued. "Sure, there are some natural predispositions. Maybe you'll never find a girl attractive. Or maybe you're getting nauseous at the thought of being gay. But in the end, it all depends on your own choices or decisions that you'll make. You can't just 'find it out'. You have to live through it. You can decide that you are gay, and live a perfectly happy life that day, but what if one day you'll meet a girl that'll make you head over heels in love with her? Then the statement that you are gay won't be trou anymore." Yet another sip...
"...Unless..." He added "...you just want a quick anwser to satisfy your family. Then you just have to say whatever you think would have the best effects on the situation."

Ailein looked like his head was going to explode. He nodded at every inverval but only looked more confused. So there was no way to tell? He thudded his head against the table. "I ca-can't u-use a qui-quick answer. Th-they want me no-not ga-gay or a-away fr-from them..."
He looked at Mika, mentally and physically exhausted.

Mika sighed, and slowly patted Ailein's head. "...Then it in reality isn't a question if you are gay or not. It's more like, if you are happy with how are they treating you, or not. And with how you are like that, I really doubt you like it. Even if you decided that you aren't gay, according to your father's wish stopped wearing dresses, and came back home... Would you be happy then?"

Ailein stayed silent in agreement then laid his head down on his arms. "I-I-I'm not... I me-mean sho-should it ma-matter? I'm sti-still their so-s-son..." He closed his eyes and leaned into Mika's hand. "I-I'm ha-ha-happy li-living with G-Gabe... ev-even if he is m-m-mean and I'm hap-happy sp-spending time with yo-you. Home... Home is a nightm-mare..."
He inhaled and let out a sigh. "..... M-Mika... wh-why don't I in-intro-introduce you to G-Gabe?" He glanced up at a clock. "B-breaks o-over..."

"Yes, It should matter." Mika said with a perfectly decided voice. "They might be your parents, but they don't own you. Your first and foremost responsibility is to be happy, as long as you don't bring harm to other people." He continued slowly patting his head, till Ailein said that his break is over.
"Yes, in fact, I really want to meet this 'Gabe' of yours. I have to make sure what kind of person you're staying with. Friends have to take care of their friends, don't they?"

"T-T-thanks for e-everything M-M-Mika." The boy got out of his chair and wrapped his arms around the other for a brief hug. "I-I-I'll as-ask him wh-when I g-go ho-home to-tonight..." The thought of facing Gabe suddenly scared him after the question Mika gave him. What if he only made the other hate him more?
He held on tighter then straighted. "I-I-I'll ca-call y-you..." With that he was off to help the managers with the store.

"Any time, Ailein." Mika smiled, and also hugged the boy. "I hope I could help somehow... I'll be waiting for your call." Mika watched the other one getting back to work. Why is life so complicated...? He sighed, finished his cocoa, and got ready to leave.
