Menkaura eased his body, releasing the elk from the tangled death. He found Zenith's words curious. The gem male only supplied a shard, from a distance. And it wasnt as though the dragon were in need of assistance. Inyet, he'd been thanked for the 'help'. He chuckled deep in his throat, tearing a large chunk of elk from the carcass. "Interesting" he mumbled into the meat, getting his white fur, bloodied.

Zenith bit down on the elk carcass, eating heartily. It was nice to have more company, especially the dragon, who's prescence was strong and wise. "What's interesting?" he asked, pausing for a moment.

Menkaura tilted his head to the side, ears flicking softly as he took a moment to answer. "Life. In general. Dont you find it an interesting thing?" It wasnt a lie, he found life interesting. Perhaps it was a stretch of truth. Since it wasnt the original reason he said 'interesting'. But he'd not observed enough of Zenith to know how the Gem would respond.

"It's interesting enough, but I don't dwell on examining its minescule details, I like to look at it as a whole. But, for me, it's like looking from the outside in, technically, I'm a living being, but compared to you, or this elk here, when it was alive I mean," he said with a small chuckle, "I'm only a rock with feelings." said Zenith, a little sad. He would never expirience growth, death, or any other of the feelings of a normal animal.

Menkaura tilted his head, a piece of elk dangled by the corner of his jaw, he paid it no mind. "Feelings, are enough. You will know pain, joy, love, loss. That to some, is the definition of alive. There isnt much more to being alive, then feelings" he said with a gentle chuckle, snapping up the piece of elk. His lengthy tails curled, and uncurled in an unconcious manner.

"That is true, but I will remain as my friends perish by the decay of time. It is a sad fate. The years will go on, myself remaining unchanged in the forever changing world." said Zenith as he watched Menkaura's tails amusedly.

Menkaura tilted his head to the side, his whiskers floating softly, the fluffy tails twitching every now and again. "Even Gems are affected by time, even though it takes longer. They ware down, they harden, they shine. There isnt a force upon this earth, that is not effected by times touch." he shook his head, tails flicking lightly "It just takes longer for some" he nodded again

"I see your reasoning. If a mass such as mountains change, then why not a comparibly small rock?" said Zenith.

Menkaura chuckled lightly and nodded "Thats one way to see it i suppose" he smirked softly, were it not for his well spoken personality, his current bloodied appearance, might be intimidating. "But lets not dwell on such things, there is much more to explore" he said ruffling his body and shaking it out. After a moment he stretched out his lengtly body, looking rather snake-ish at times

"What do you propose we do now, then?" asked Zenith. Coming out of the caves he had dwelled in for so long had proven to be a wise choice. He had met a few interesting creatures, like Menkaura, and others like himself.

"I dont know, i'm new to this area. I was in....hibernation for centuries." Menkaura lifted his head, golden eyes closed as he inhaled, taking in the scents of the area "So much has changed. Nothings the same" he said with almost a hint of remorse. The era he slumbered in, had been a glorious one. All but the 'incident' that caused his hibernation to begin with.

"Well, It's my first time exploring the area as well. How about we just go swimming?" said Zenith. He'd been swimming when Menkaura had appeared, and was now eager to go back down there. Zenith was amazed at how deep the water there was.

The dragon nodded his head "That sounds like a swell idea" he snaked his way towards the water. He coiled his body, and sprang into the water, leaving barely a ripple in the water. He couldnt breath under water, but he could control his breathing to the point where he could be mistaken for dead. He'd be able to stay underwater for hours.

"Woohoo!" exclaimed Zenith as he flew up into the air, shot his wing shards down to the ground in mid-air, and horn-dived into the water, making a large splash. He enjoyed the water very much, for some reason. Something told him that it was in water, specifically the ocean, that he was crafted. He never had really thought about his origins much, it was too confusing, not that he could not comprehend, he just chose unknowingness. Zenith hadn't payed much attention to how long he had stayed underwater, he figured a while, for if his origins were as he thought, then surely he would be able to hold his own in the womb of his creation.

Menkaura weaved through the water like an eel. His fur slicked down, to make moving through the water easier. He swam behind a group of fish, a grin on his maw as he scared them, and watched them scatter. The ancient dragon, suddenly felt playful. He swam through the water, swimming in a backwards loop, coiling in a spiral. He chuckled, sending a small shower of bubbles to the surface.
