Hivu chuckled softly, "Oh, don't be silly! Of course you can have cubs! Why shouldn't you be able to?" She shook her head, unaware that hybrids could rarely reproduce. "Besides, everyone is different. Perhaps your body simply isn't ready yet." Still, the thought lingered in her mind. Surely Bu should have gone into heat at least once by this age, right? It was certainly rare for this to happen among 100 percent leopards that she knew of... But not unheard off.
Perhaps it was possible that Bu would never have children?
"But don't you worry, Miles would have never left you for that reason." She attempted to reassure her. The times she had met the cheetah he had seemed so... Sensitive. He didn't seem the type to leave for such a reason. But then again, neither had Ixachy.
And then, an idea hit her. What if she left one of her cubs in the care of Bu? Even if she could not have her own, perhaps caring for a cub would help her feel better?
"Bu, there is something I need to tell you." Hivu sat up, a very serious look on her face. "I am going to have cubs." She said simply, "They will be your half-siblings, and I don't know if I can care for them all by myself. Would you like to help me?"

She tried to suppress all the thoughts of Miles for the moment until she got back to the den. That was where everything about Miles would remain. She had to collect herself... but it felt so hard to do so. Her body shivered still as she tried to push away his smiling face. Tryed to block out his adorable laughter, his voice. Trying to forget his touch. It was so hard for her, why did he have to leave her? She whimpered softly at the thought and gave another sob.
Wait... What?
She looked up at her mother. Another litter? She was confused, a little shocked too. Another litter of cubs?
"You mean... Dad came back? Mother, Dad came back to you? He mated with you again?" Her mind wrapped around that Limbuko, the god of pleasure and her namesake was the only male that mated with mother. Perhaps he came back again for another love making with the leopardess to please her, cleanse her of her worries about Nac and Ku.
With another litter.
"Of course I would help... but would you please give me some time? I mean... mother, over all the stuff I am going through now, you cannot expect me to start caring for a cub... a sister or a brother, now."

Hivu shook her head slowly. "No, it wasn't Lim." She hesitated, but decided the truth had to come out sooner or later. "It was a cheetah by the name of Roho. He will be the father of your new half-siblings, though I don't know how much he will be around." She shrugged. She hadn't seen him in a few days, but one could not be sure if he would show up again.
With that she went silent, waiting for her daughter to tell her how she disapproved of such behavior, even to scold her as if Bu were the mother and Hivu were the child. She didn't mind being a little promiscuous, but the fact that she had used Roho still made her feel guilty.
"Oh, of course not NOW." She smiled weakly, "I won't have them for a while now, but I can feel it. They are there, and they will come... In time." She thought it would be obvious since she had not yet begun to swell with cubs yet, but perhaps Bu was too distracted to make that note.
For a moment, her mind wandered back to Lim. What would he think? Surely he would not be angry with her, right? After all, he didn't seem overly enthusiastic about his first litter with her, so he ought to be happier if she could find someone else to satisfy her when he wasn't around, right?
The worried leopardess could only hope.
Though she knew in her heart he of all people would be alright with her 'free-spirited' nature, which he had probably only encouraged, she couldn't help but feel that he, too, ought to know.

"A cheetah... I see. So he won't be sticking around either, huh?" She sighed and raised to her feet. She still shook now and again but tried to put on a smile. Fake as chameleon... She had nothing more to say, she did not want to say anything. Knowing that her mother was pregnant again, with a cheetah no less, pained her. She was not the one pregnant, why possible, never so. She was not going to love a cheetah and be loved back it seemed. Her life was so high up, she remembered most the time when they found each other again.
The memories were flooding back to her again. It will take some time for her to... "forget" him.
"Thanks, mother... I'll be glad to help you and my sister... or brothers out. I'm going back to the den, I want to get some sleep for a while. If you happen to catch anything, please leave me some too?" he spoke in a rather melancholy tone. She nuzzled her mother breifly before moving away from her in the direction of her den.
At the den, she placed herself exactly where Miles was the night before. His scent was still strong being a fertile male. The more she thought about it, the more she came to accept it. She was never going into estus. She was never going to enjoy the pleasure of another male. She was never going to become pregnant or start a family of her own. She can only live being another set of paws, eyes-no, a spare body to help her mother. What use would a... in Tego's words, "freak" have? She was a seer, an offspring between a God lion and a Mortal leopardess. She was sterile, what purpose does she have but to keep someone company?
... well, she was not going to keep anyone company for a while. She curled up on the spot, taking deep, heavy breaths of the remants of her first love. Tonight could be the last time she would ever cry like this.

Bu's pain echoed in Hivu's heart as she heard the disappointment in her voice. She had no words, no excuse to try to defend her actions... She wanted to apologize, but she knew that it wouldn't help. It wouldn't change what she had done, and the fact that Bu was sterile and unable to have cubs of her own.
"Of course, dear." She said softly as Bu headed off to the den. Hivu simply turned the other way and silently began to look for something to hunt for Bu.
They both had a lot to think about.
((The End, I think <3))
