Puh-lease! You're talking to a fangirl here. I love slash! As long as it's done RIGHT, and not something some fangirl with a sugar-high wrote (basically something that includes capitalization, punctuation, in character-ness, etc.).

Huzzah! I can post them in the fan fiction section here. Tomorrow. I try to keep both IC, and many of the one-shots aren't heavy on the romance. If anything, it's more on humor. XD I so do love to torture Byakuya. He's such a fun person to play with. I also hope you don't mind some OCs either, and no, they aren't paired up with any canon character. They're paired up with each other.

Woot. Humor, romance, angst. I love anything and everything. He IS fun to torture. So is Renji ^o^ THANK GOD!! I can't stand OC/canon pairings. Unless it's with female characters. For some reason, I wouldn't mind a Rukia/OC or a Matsumoto/OC pairing. Probably because there are NO female/OC pairings. They're all male/OC pairings =[
PostPosted: Wed Nov 21, 2007 11:29 am

That he is. XD *nods* I think I'll enjoy torturing Ichigo to when he makes an appearance. Renji's simply fun to write for. He reminds me of Zack from Final Fantasy VII. Too bad Cartoon Network isn't showing any more. They've started playing Death Note in its place.

><# Same here. I can't stand OC/canon pairings. Probably because they've been overdone to death, and more than often, you get a Sue instead of a fully developed OC. I can see that. The male canon characters are usually the ones paired with the OC or rather Sue. Yes, there are, but they're so rare. I know someone who writes female canon/male OC stories.

My OC pairing is male/male. X3 I'm experimenting with my characters.

*glares at Light & L* Damn you. . .

Oh well! I have three of the DVDs, and I'm planning on getting the first season. But I'd prefer for it to be on TV. They could take Inuyasha off instead (don't they show two episodes in a row anyway?).

I did an OC/canon pairing once. But I picked someone who isn't paired with anyone from the series. I don't know if that makes things better or worse. I mean think of all the Itachi &/or Sesshomaru/OC pairings there are. . . . My OC was a bit of a Sue (sadly), but I dropped the story pretty quick and haven't done one since.

Now I really wanna make a Rukia/OC pairing XD But I already support RenRuki, and IchiRuki, and ByaRuki, and. . . *goes on and on*

Maybe I should pick a less popular character. . .

Eh?

They show two episodes for Naruto. Then again, Naruto is such a long series, and some of the battles take place over more than a few episodes. So they can afford to show two new episodes per week. I would rather they take off Inuyasha too. Then again, they could be behind in the dubbing so they might need the extra time.

I did it once though it was a very minor pairing, and it was with Sesshoumaru. My OC didn't make an appearance, and there was only one reference to them in the entire fic. It was less than two paragraphs.

Wow, Rukia does get around, doesn't she? XD

*nods* There are so many characters to choose from.

*mutter, mutter* They could always take Naruto and Inuyasha off. No one would mind. . .

No. I shouldn't bash other series here. 'Specially with the fanbase they both have.

She can't help being cute! ♥

Besides, the same could be said for Sesshy. Look at all the OCs he's seeing *shakes head shamefully* What a womanizer!

XD

I know. So few get the attention they deserve. That's why I always try to throw some in. Rikichi, for example, is one of my favorites, but he only shows up twice in Bleach =[

I could care less whether or not they take Inu Yasha off, but I'm happy with Naruto though Naruto's voice is grating. That's pretty much what I don't like about the dubbed verstion. Oh yeah, his catch phrase annoys me too. The other voices are so so to good.

XD True. Thankfully, I'm not a die hard Naruto fanatic at the time. But Final Fantasy VII...

Rukia's okay but she can be a little annoying at times.

XDDD My OC isn't female. But yeah, all those women and so little time. Not to mention, he's probably sired so many offspring with many of them, who turn out to be mini-Sues. *shudders at the thought of an army of Sues*

Most of the time, I prefer support characters like FFVII with Kadaj and Zack. I suppose Seph was a main character though it was on the opposite side. This is one series in which I like both the main and support characters.

Who?

Believe it. That line amuses me, considering I don't watch the show XD I used to have a friend who was obsessed with two things.
1. Naruto.
2. Saying "your mom".
So whenever she annoyed me with number 2 I'd just start saying, "Believe it, believe it, believe it!" XD Good times. . . .

Yeah, I wasn't too fond of Ichi's voice, but after watching my DVDs in English a few times I got used to it. Some of the Soul Reaper voices still bug me (Squad 6 particularly), though I imagine I'll get over it when I get some DVDs featuring the Soul Society arc.

._.

You wound me, Chibi. *glomps Rukia doll* It's okay. He didn't really mean it. . .

XD Just kiddin'.

Term still applies, dammit! XD The man demon is like Zeus, foe Petes sake!

I never played the game, so I don't know Zack, but I love Kadaj! And Yazoo, too.

. . . . .

You see?! He gets so little attention that when I mention him in conversation people give me funny looks!

That is Rikichi. He's a lil' Renji fanboy. And I'm not even kidding XD

It's not that hard to memorize. Why can't they use his real line? I forgot what it was since it was in Japanese, but I know it doesn't translate into that. I think it ganbatte yo or something like that.

*snickers* I have a friend who's obsessed with the series, but she lives in Canada. She even created a character she asks people to draw for her.

I doubt I would ever buy the DVD for it, but then again, I didn't think I would buy Prince of Tennis. Going to get all the FMA DVDs first.

o.o?

XD It could be worst. I could say I can't stand her like I can't stand Tifa.

My widdle OC still has his faults though you won't know it cause he doesn't show up, only is mentioned. He isn't human or hanyou. He's a youkai. And this is one of my earlier works.

Zack's in Advent Children, but you only get glimpses of him.

Oh him, the Renji fan boy. I never thought he'd have any. X3

This is why I have love/hate feelings towards translators. Most translators butcher the characters in one way or another, be it changing perfectly acceptable names or making the characters say really weird/annoying things. Personally, I like manga translators better than anime and video game translators. I don't know why.

I used to do that, but I only asked one friend and it wasn't characters I asked her to draw, it was covers. I don't talk to her much anymore.

I buy Bleach merchandise so that they will continue to come out with it. For example, though I didn't own a Wii I still bought the Bleach game for it just so that the sales looked high (I knew I was getting a Wii for X-mas, though, so that kind of factored into my decision).

I'll only buy anime merchandise if it's
a) a series I'm obsessed with
or
b) really cheap

. . . . . . . .

You keep insulting all my favorite characters. . .

Oh well xd I only know about Tifa what I read off of Wiki and saw from AC and KH2. As for Rukia, it seems none of the guys I know like her! All the chicks love her, but none of the guys. . .

An OC thats only mentioned in passing is the best kind.

Just kidding. But, sadly, it does seem that way more often than not. With my first few OCs it was that way.

Yeah, I saw him at the end. But the first time I saw him I thought it was Loz ._. Yeeeah. . . Not my brightest moment. . .

Yup! I think I'm the only one. . . *sigh*

Well... in anime they've got to do a passable translation and match up lip flaps. Personally, I'd give the dub a chance, but then look on Wiki or someone's LJ to find out any peculiarities regarding the original dialogue. Like I love 'death' jokes made in things. Love them to death but I don't think they transition well in English. *laughs at her own bad pun*
Generally, manga translators do a better job though, because they aren't constrained with lip flaps and only need to think about space of the speech bubble.

Dattebayo means something like 'it is true!'. [Looked on Wiki, and is something along the lines of 'you know?'] Datte, contradictorily means but or because.

I know a couple of guys who've said Rukia is a 'kick-a**' chick, but sometimes then go on about half of the other female shinigami being kick-a**. Or sometimes just Nel.

Thats true, and it crossed my mind as I was typing that. But, even though their job is easier, I still prefer the manga translators. But for the video game translators I was thinking of Natsume. They translate the Harvest Moon series, a video game series where nobodies lips move, yet they still feel the need to make unnecessary changes that irk me.

Hm. Then believe it is closer than I thought. But I'd still prefer "you know". A lot of people in FFX say "you know" (or so my friend tells me), and it works just fine for them. Then again, it's probably not the phrase that annoys people, but rather the frequency with which Naruto uses it. *shrugs* I wouldn't know. Don't watch the show, don't read the manga (any more).

Not sure who Nel is. I waiting for the Viz translations because for some unfathomable reason I don't like the online translations, and I think it's a pain in the arse watching it on Youtube.

One guy I know says Rukia is an okay fighter, but he prefers Orihime. 'Course, this could be because his girlfriend is like an American-Orihime. . .

Same here. When I watch anime, I usually watch the Japanese version with subtitles unless it's tape, but I dun buy tapes anymore. It's strictly dvds. In any case, I go with the subtitled as opposed to the dubbed. There are only a few series that I actually can stand the dubbed, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam Wing, and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. =/ Still, I wish they would go off of the actual content and the Japanese voice actors rather than look at only the image when choosing a voice over. *sighs*

As much as I like my friend, her OC drives me nuts. She carts this OC in almost every fic she writes, and he usually ends up with rare items or abilities. In a Naruto series, he has one of those demons sealed up within him, two bloodlines, and is Itachi's pupil. Said character has way too many connections to canon characters. *sighs* I do like her, but she writes a lot of Stus.

Same here. I usually buy from Borders, because buying online is about the same even without paying for tax. Plus, I can get up to 30% off with coupons on certain weekends. I buy for the series I'm interested in unless I can get it at the library used for like one or two dollars. XD~

I'm buying:

Fullmetal Alchemist
Loveless
Prince of Tennis
Fruits Basket
Vampire Knights (don't ask. >>U)

Muwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Honestly, my fave female character from FFVII would have to be Aeris. I just don't like it when she's written way OOC from what I think she's like. Next comes Yuffie except I don't like it when she's paired with Vincent, maybe as a support couple and he has to be IC. Even then, I'm still very, very picky. There are so much fics I can read.

Yep. Like I said, it was one of my first. It's OMC/canon though there's no lovey dovey type of relationship. Far from it, and you can't tell because as I said, it's briefly mentioned. I think out of all the story, it's mentioned once and within a paragraph or two, three at the most.

Most of my OCs in my earlier days were like minor characters with whom I can't fill with a canon character like the person behind the sales register or the taxi driver. Sadly, I've had some OC-centric fics in where I asked people if they wanted theirs to be included. *thwaps self*

Yeahhh... not your brightest moment. Loz is a remnant; thus, he has silver/grey hair. Zack has black.

As for Rukia, I don't know why, but I like the manga version of her better than the anime. Still don't like her being paired with either Ichigo or Renji, but that's just me.

Do tell. ><# I hate Naruto's catch phrase with a burning passion. I'll give dub a chance especially when I really don't have a choice, aka tv. At least for One Piece, they changed Sanji's voice to something decent. He doesn't sound like one of those gangster member or belongs with a mafia.

I watch my DVDs in both English and Japanese. Just depends on my mood, and whether I'm wearing my contacts or not. More often than not, I'm watchin' it in English xd

Yeah. The friend I was talking about does the same thing, only her OCs are female and they sleep with Itachi within three paragraphs of the first chapter. Right after they meet him ._.

Ah, Borders~♥ I spend hours in there. . . I can't get anything from my library because I'm too afraid to find out how much I owe them ._. Borrowed a magazine about four years ago, haven't seen it since. . .

I'm just buying Bleach. Bleach, Bleach, Bleach. Call me crazy, call me obsessed, you're probably right ^_^

Hm. I read three of the Vampire Knights mangas because I liked one of the writers previous series, but I'm not too fond of it. It's odd :/

Thats why I like AU fics: they allow for a bit of OOCness due to a completely different life. Of course, at it's core the character should stay the same, but there's wiggle room, ya know?

Nobody ever said I was smart (and if they did then I proved them wrong! xd )

Same here. I like the anime version, but she seems tougher in the manga. In the anime it doesn't seem like she fights as much. . .

I like RenRuki best, but I can tolerate IchiRuki.
