Shaylee's determination was driving her to believe that this whole mess was real, a childish manner but hey it was working. Swinging her head she snorted, convinced that the dragon really was coming to claim its prize. Though she was fearful her fury was greater going against such a beast as this.
Cynder of all creatures was still irritated lessor soquili had intervened and made a mockery of her. So her interest in hearing that babbling flutter play imagination was too great to simply pass up. Perhaps she'd play along with this little game, the dragon had eaten hours before anyway.
Grinning she snaked her head releasing a trail of flame, "Think you can take what's mine purple pest? Come and fight me then if you dare. I will win of course."
Shaylee skidded with her eyes widening, "Oh no...nooooooooo." She was a bit off key when she shriked hopping back. This was a dream right, an imaginary game to help Gabri fly. But, she could swear that that voice was familiar and those flames were so real. Snorting she tossed her head again shaking away the fear that was creeping inward, "Alright then I'm not afraid of you vile dragon. You shall not take back the Princess for her heart and mind are hers... not yours. She will be free!"
Cynder roared with laughter though it sounded like a smooth rasp over wood as it echoed in her great lungs. She was a bit amused by all of this childish guise, so Shaylee whom she remembered was perfect to scare the living wits out of. Turning her head she noted the fluttercorn stating to herself how that mare too would rue the day they played "Princess and Dragon."

Gabriela hadn't seen where that other voice was coming from, but she could smell the smoke coming from the burning embers of the breath that violated the nearby air. The smell of it was putrid in Gabriela's nose. She had thus far never smelled something so awful. It was almost like.. not just a woodfire.. but with flesh too. It made hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
She then knew she couldn't stay there. She had to propel herself. She had to do it. She couldn't wait anymore. She closed her eyes. She imagined her and her mate running side by side. Running for freedom... just running... she closed her eyes and she lept off the ledge, flapping her wings, and she then started to catch better balance of her body. "Come on Shaylee... let us not be foolish. We can't fight her. What do we have to use against her fire. There is a waterfall not far off. Let's fly there... The water will protect us."
She then turned around and flew northwards. Now, she wasn't falling. She wasn't thinking about falling, or any of that. The fears of flying were replaced by the necessity of safety, and the immediate need to get out of danger. She was thinking only how to find protection for them. Luckily, she was very fast. She picked up speed and started to fly faster and faster.

Shaylee watched Gabriela with a bright smile while scowling at Cynder, "Why'd you have to go and mess things up huh?" she snorted ready to charge the annoyance. She was just plain tired of this black menace coming along, destroying things, trying to eat annoying she deemed worthy. She was just plain pissed off right now.
Cynder watched the fluttercorn fly and became amused. She actually helped a bug fly unlike the moronic little pest that was staring her down at the moment. She wasn't flying off like her friend, excuse me Princess fairytale garbage they were spoting. It was complete annoyance and this purple insect was going to pay dearly. Smirking she grinned at the flutter with menacing eyes, "Oh little bug you spout way too much emotion. I think you should watch your tongue or I might have to burn it off. Now are you going to go hide with your friend or am I going to roast your pathetic little hide?" Releasing a spray of flame she was determined to push away this little fat bug.
Shaylee gulped and stood her ground but skidded into the air panting horribly. Flying after Gabriela she picked up speed huffing and puffing that the tip of her tail had scorched a bit.
"Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. My poor tail...," she wailed with a sniff as she headed to the waterfall.

(hope it's ok I make a time gap in the middle of this post)
Gabriela had rushed flying behind a great waterfall. She found a ledge back there. Surely the fire breathing horse wouldn't come over there. She rested there. Her wings feeling both tired from flying and invigorated from flying for hte first time ever.
She looked up at the little purple flutter. "Oh... are you ok?? Wow.. That sure is rude. I wonder why another soquili would wanna destroy your pretty hair. I never seen a horse like that in my life.. and I was pushed around with some gypsy folk who use us for shows. They ought to try and catch her. She'd probably fetch them the metal round things they collect."
So, there were scary things in the world.
And, many months had gone by. Gabriela had her foals and raised them. They were all older now. In fact, she hardly saw any of them. She knew the truth was that they were likely out finding their own partners.
Gabriela decided to go find that pleasant little flutter she ran into before. Maybe visiting old friends would help her feel not so left behind. She flew herself off to the top of the waterfall. The same waterfall. She saw her there before. Would she find her there?

Shaylee trotted along remembering the "flight of the Princess" she called in her meeting with Gabriela and Cynder's little surprise. Well she certainly flew didn't she, that was all that counted. Time had passed for her too leaving the purple hyper mare with three beautiful children to grace her life.
Leaping to the air she skidded in the clouds noting the waterfall wondering if the Princess would return to that same spot. Zipping like a flurried dragonfly she landed with much force, a skid accompanied by a bump afterwords.
"Hellooooooooooooooooo Gabrielaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Yooooo hoooooooooooooo?" peeking her head here and there she hunted for the pretty golden peach colored mare.

Gabriela stomped on the ground softly, beating her wings happily. "Oh, Shaylee!!! I am here!!!"
Her voice rang out high in pitch, dripping with unbridled happiness. "I was so hoping to find you today! It's been a while."
Gabriela head out of the cave towards the ledge where you could feel the water jump at you from it's curtain flowing down in front of you. This was a serene little place. She had taken to returning here more often lately. The teepee had gotten to be rather crowded and populated.
