Dumu nodded. "A thing or two. You see, I can already tell there is ill in Jini's future for I see nothing. I am afraid that if you do not stop her she might die..." he lied. A big one. His visions, at least those that allowed him to see futures, were only done through touch. Seeing as Jini was not near enough for him to touch her, he could not possibly tell what would be her future. The lie was more to frighten the lion to egg him on toward going back home.
... Would one really consider it an abuse of his powers?
Nah.
"If you really do love her, Tope, I trust you will keep her safe. Even from herself, do what you think is right and I doubt much will get in your way. Just... don't let me come back and have your father scarred again. Otherwise, I might have to hurt you," He laughed as he raised to his feet. With a final stretch he stated to move away.
"I'll see you around, Tope, I have places to go and things to do, but I will be keeping my eye on you." With literal intention, he smirked as he left the lion to his thoughts. Tope was a bright lion, he could take care of himself. He did not really need Dumu's lie and help... just a push would have sufficed. However, it was his choice to make.

Tope felt his appreciation for the lion grow and he wondered if it was like that all the time-with Dumu and Umo. He blinked back his own surpirse and fright at Dumus' words, though fake, Tope did not know and would carry that worry in his heart-he would do everything in his power to keep Jini away from hurt. He nodded slowly.
He really did love her and would do anything for her. He could not let himself leave her for reasons, for his family-but chose to go with her this time... he would return-and he would replace his hate for his father-with love. He smiled-nodding with a sheepish grin. That I can promise.. no more scars unless they are on my hide he said, watching Dumu prepare to head out. He stood up fully and gave a curtly nod. I see.. well I hope to see that eye of yours in the future-and keep an eye on my father for he me too-would you? He said with a quick laugh and took off in a run-eager to find Jini-even though he had no prey. He wanted to tell her-he loved her.
And to make sure Dumu's vision would never happen
