Huni Pi
Huni's head throbbed, the fall had hurt her more than she thought it would have. She scanned her surroundings and realized she was in Durem. Where exactly in the town, she wasn't sure.

As she wandered aimlessly past throngs of shoppers and other Gaians, she stumbled upon a store. It was filled with antique mirrors and other lovely things. Perhaps she could purcahse something for her children back home, as an apology for her sudden disappearance the past few days.

The door swung open as the red head entered the shop. Her sides stung a bit, but otherwise she was fine. "Um, hello?"

Neith-Kia
Aurora was behind the counter, secretly putting aside pretty things she admired. The shop wasn't technally open, but they'd left the door open anyway. After all, the last few people who came in here ended up with children, it was like a magnet for possible parents. Aurora eyed each item carefully. She didn't want to be a mother.

When the door swung open, Aurora glanced up to the red-head woman. She waved, and called, "Hello!"

Huni Pi
"Hello there," Huni smiled, the pain was already subsiding. "Could you tell me what exactly does this store sell?" she asked, wondering what she could purchase for her children.

Neith-Kia
"Lots of things! Um... it's all a bit messy right now, but there's old nice boxes, and some necklaces, and jewelry. All kinds of old things." Aurora told the woman, stepping out from behind the coutner. "And even toys, we've fixed a lot of them up too."

Huni Pi
Absently, her hand went to touch her jade pendants as she mulled over what to purchase. "Old things, you say?" Huni began, "And jewlery and toys as well? Would it be too much trouble to ask if I could see some of them? Toys and jewelries that is."

Neith-Kia
"Of course. We've got some jewelry in the cabnit here," Aurora pointed to the shiny new counter, with the glass front and top. Then she pointed to the other wall, where boxes were sitting on tables. "And over here, are toys. They're in boxes still, we were going to put them on shelves, but the shelves arn't installed yet."

Huni Pi
The red head's eyes followed the direction blonde girl was pointing to. She nodded her understanding that it wouldn't be in their best interest to look at the toys. At least, not until the shelves were installed. But the jewelries seemed easy enough to see.

"Oh, they're lovely!" Huni exclaimed, as she eyed the intricately crafted necklaces. "And these are all for sale?" she asked, hoping for a positive response.

Neith-Kia
"All of them." Aurora replied, with only a tiny bit of hesitation. After all, she was getting paid for this... and she could buy other jewelry elsewhere, right? "Some might need a bit of cleaning, when we got the shop, it was call packed together. But they're all perfectly fine otherwise."

Huni Pi
"Exquisite..." Huni whispered, smiling to herself. The smile faded a little, upon her realizing she didn't have the neccessary funds to purchase anything. "Oh darn it..." she sighed, "Seems I can't buy one today... but maybe the next time I come back, I'll have some money." she told Aurora.

A pause and then Huni extended her hand to the blonde, "By the way, I'm Huni Pi. And you are?"

Neith-Kia
"I'm Aurora. I'm a ... worker here." Aurora had paused, and changed her idea about explaining what Simu were. She didn't want to scare the nice woman off! "That's all right, the shop won't be going anywhere. You can come back whenever you want."

She took Huni's hand as she spoke, and shook it warmly.

Huni Pi
Huni laughed at Aurora's comment on the shop's mobility (or rather lack of it). "True, true, I only hope you wouldn't have sold out by the time I return." she chuckled, fingers still absently playing with her pendants. "Oh dear, I hate to run off like this, but I have to get going. It was a pleasure meeting you, Aurora." she nodded as she left the shop.

Huni Pi
The red head walked down the streets of Durem back towards the Antique shop. It had taken a while for her to be able to save up for a necklace, and given how much Huni loved to spend it was amazing she managed to scrimp that long.

Accompanying Huni was a small panda bear with a flower in her hair. Khun Ying had been curious about the shop her 'mother' told her about and wanted to see the pretty things for herself.

emme
The Through the Looking Glass shop doors were wide open, letting sunlight and the slight cool breeze. The shop got darker the deeper within you went, but there was a large desk lamp sitting upon one of the counters. An elvish woman appearing to be in her early twenties was sitting at the lit counter, flipping through papperwork.

Huni Pi
Instinctively, Huni picked up the panda into her arms as they went in. It wasn't that she didn't trust Khun Ying, she had just gotten used to having the velveteen whenever she felt nervous. Aurora wasn't anywhere to be seen, the red head hoped to ask the teen if she could purchase one of the necklaces that caught her fancy from her first time at the shop.

Once she saw the elvish woman, Huni hesitantly approached her.

"Excuse me," she began.

Khun eyed at all the antiques with curious amazement. The shop itself felt comfortable and safe, if not reminiscent of The Velveteen Toychest she had come from.

emme
Emme looked up as the woman entered the shop. Ah! A welcome distraction. She closed her book with a thump, straightened her glasses and stood up.

"Yes, can I help you?" She replied to the woman's inquiry, giving her a reassuring smile. She had a feeling that the redhead had been expecing someone else to be behind the counter. "I'm Emme." She said after a moment. "I know where most everything is, so just let me know what I can do for you."

Huni Pi
"I'm Huni, pleased to meet you, Emme." she smiled sheepishly, "Um, I had talked to Aurora about purchasing a necklace and I've only been able to acquire the neccessary fee just recently." she explained as she adjusted her hold on Khun Ying. The panda had been so much lighter when she was a plush but she loved the velveteen nevertheless.

Khun Ying gripped onto her 'mother' for support before resting against Huni.

emme
"Ah! sure!" Emme exclaimed. "We've got layaways in the store room. Let me see what I can find. Just a sec." Emme went into the back room and looked through a couple of boxes with lables. Finally she found the name "Huni" in Aurora's writing on a lable attatched to a heavy gold necklace with three blue stones and one large green stone in the middle. She brought it to the front counter, admiring the large gleaming stones herself as she walked.

Huni Pi
Jade eyes widened at the necklace, it was exquisite. With one hand she held Khun, with the other she dug into her pocket for the payment.

"Khun, luv, could you get the necklace for me?" she asked, fingers fishing around her pinstripe pants pocket.

Khun nodded and reached out as far as she could without falling over. Her padded paws careful not to scratch the necklace's surface or the gems.

Xannyia
Sarria entered the shop, hoping to meet up with another Simu or two and smiled when she saw the other two in the shop and was that a Panda Bear?! "Hello Miss Emme!" She greeted the woman she recongized and gave her a friendly wave. Next she gave the one she didn't know a second smile, "And hello miss, is that your bear? She's certainly cute!"

She also wondered if this meant Emme's little Simu was also in the shop. Figuring since he was little and all, or so she thought, he would be near Emme. "Is Ray here?"

emme
Emme giggled as the panda gently took the necklace. "Hold tight, it's heavy." She said, supporting most the weight until the little creature had a good hold of it.

"You've heard the stories about some of our antiques, haven't you?" Emme asked Huni before taking payment.

***

Ray sulked upstairs. He really wasn't ready to see anyone. He felt like an entirely different person. And he was still getting used to his scratchy voice... though he still prefered not to talk at all.

He would have stayed home, but Raven was there resting up from his trip to Gaia. Ray just prefered to not be in the house alone with him... though why exactly, was still beyond him.

Huni Pi
Khun nodded and brought the necklace close to her body, intending to protect it with her life.

"I beg your pardon?" Huni blinked as she tilted her head to the side in confusion. "What sort of stories?" she asked, finally managing to dig out the money. She tried to recall her conversation with Aurora but didn't remember the teen mentioning anything out of the ordinary.

emme
"Sarria!" Emme greeted, "It's so good to see you again!" She nodded and glanced back at the stairs. "He's upstairs sulking, but he could probably use some outside human contact."

Emme returned her attention to Huni, shaking her head a bit at the answer she'd recieved. "Well, just so you know, our antiques can be a big responsibility." Emme paused for a moment, and continued. "Just take good care of it, as I'm sure you will." Emme felt confident that the necklace had found a good home... they always did, some how...

Huni Pi
Khun tried her best to unclasp the necklace so she could put it around Huni's neck, but she needed thumbs for that task. The panda blinked then waved at the other girl who just went upstairs.

Completely missing the point, Huni only smiled and nodded. Responsibility, eh? Marl would be around to help her, thankfully. Although the red head wasn't sure how much of a responsibility a necklace would be.

"I'll take good care of it, you can count on that." she nodded, then noticed Khun trying to unclasp the necklace. She chuckled and left the money on the table before excusing herself from the shop.

Huni and Khun finally arrived home, and ever since that painful incident that she had to relinquish guardianship of Strawberry and Vael, the house felt extremely empty. The only beings left were Marl, Khun Ying and Malady. The red head wished the Intangible had disappeared, but no such luck.

"Welcome back, Huni." Marl sensually greeted, arms entwining around Huni's waist.

"Look at what we bought." Huni smiled, gesturing to the necklace that Khun held.

"It's lovely." the medusa smiled, and helped the panda slip the necklace around Huni's neck.

"It's extremely gaudy." Malady remarked, fading in from out of no where. "It suits you, really." it cackled.

"You know what, I'm feeling so good right now, whatever you say doesn't even matter, Malady." Huni smirked before heading upstairs to her room, all the while carrying Khun Ying.

"There's something about that necklace that isn't normal." it murmured, "Then again, Huni did buy, so there must be something wrong with it." it shrugged before fading away.

Later that night, either when Huni is sleeping or she is not looking, the jewels of the necklace change color, giving off a bit of heat as a result. When she finally looks at it, she'll be able to notice the lack of original color and a strange gleam to the gems...

Huni awoke to the day with a crick in her back and her arms sore. Needless to say her sleep hadn't been a peaceful one, then again with Malady around things were never peaceful. She needed something or someone to control the damned Intangible but where would she find that?

To take her mind off the unpleasant Malady, Huni decided to admire the pretty necklace she had purchased yesterday. She had to remove it before she went to bed last night, fearing it might get caught in the sheets or something, and left it atop the table beside her bed. When her jade eyes saw the gems' colors (more appropriately the change in them) she let out a surprised gasp.

"What the-?" she blinked, slender hands reaching out to bring the piece of jewelry closer for inspection. "How did? When did?" she sputtered for a few moments before storming out of her room, necklace in her fist. "MALADY!!!!!!"

The Intangible emerged from the ceiling, staring down at the red head with its shattered eyes. "My, my, we're in our usual sunny disposition I see." it cackled.

"I want to know what you did with my necklace." she demanded, raising the piece of jewelry up towards Malady.

"You broke it already? You really should take better care of your things, you can't keep blaming me forever you know." Malady sneered, folding its disproportionate arms across its torso.

"Don't play dumb with me, look at these gems. They were a vibrant blue and green yesterday and now look at them! This sabotage reeks of your doing, Malady."

The Intangible rolled its eyes, or rather, it appeared to roll its eyes. "Oh please, if I truly wanted to wreck that cheap, gaudy thing I'd have thrown it down the toilet, fished it out from the septic tank then returned it to your nightstand. Dulling alreayd dull gems is just too redundant."

Once in Huni's hands, the necklace heats up and changes color once more, moving from the dulled color through purple, blue, and then ending at a vibrant teal. The necklace didn't seem to like to stay one color for very long...

The heat from the necklace distracted Huni from the no-win arguement she was having with Malady. It didn't burn her, but it was hot enough to make hold the necklace in a tight fist uncomfortable. She loosened her hold and stared at the changing colors. Jade eyes traveling from the necklace to the Intangible.

Marl slithered out into the hallway, it wasn't easy not to overhear Malady and Huni whenever they fought. He said nothing but continued towards the red head.

Malady's shattered eyes widened in amusement. The manic grin on its face just screaming "I told you so!"

Huni's eyes returning, the necklace once again shifted colors as if it were amused at her response. This time, the necklace heated up a bit more before finally settling on a bright green.

To hell with trying to keep her composure, Huni's jaw just dropped at the sight of the bright green gems. She tried to close her mouth, but somehow she couldn't keep it shut. The opening and closing was in a manner akin to a fish gasping for air.

Malady cackled wildly, sinking into the ceiling only to emerge from the floor. It stopped directly in front of the necklace, staring intently at the piece of jewelry.

"Well, this thing isn't entirely a piece of junk as I thought it was." it grinned in amusement.

Marl paused in his stride, tilting his head curiously to the side. Even from where he was, he could see the necklace was behaving oddly.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 21, 2005 6:22 pm

The bright green stayed for a bit, before the gems seemingly began to desinegrate in her hands, the warmth leaving almost immediately, replaced by a violent, metallic cold. Then suddenly, the necklace vanished out of Huni's hand and into thin air, gone without a trace...

Malady erupted into manic cheering and hooting at the necklace's disappearance.

Huni on the other hand just kept staring at her hand, "I'm still asleep, that's it. That's the only explanation there is. I'll wake up and then the necklace is still on my nightstand, safe and sound."

Marl shook his head, it seems Huni would need someone to snuggle up to and he quietly went to fetch Khun Ying.

Immediately after the necklace disappeared, a vividly dressed teen appeared sprawled and leaning up against the the headboard of the bed, eyes watching the pair as he fiddled his fingers with his necklace...

"Excuse me, but who are you and what are you doing on my bed?" Huni blinked, jade eyes wide in shock.

The teen pursed his lips in distaste as he scanned Huni's bedroom. "Dear me, looks like someone needs an image change." he notes, rising from the bed onto his boot-clad feet.

"It's all wrong! So very, very, very wrong. The curtains and the wallpaper? Please, someone just dig my eyes out to spare me from this horror."

"Hey, I decorated my room. And you haven't even answered me. Who are you?" Huni demanded.

"Ah, allow me to introduce myself, I am Lord Sammuelson Irum Me'arl. But please, refer to me as Sim. And I assume that you are my guardian, no? Then I shall permit you to be called my mother." he grins, waving his orange kerchief in the air.

"Dear me, looks like we have another weird one in our midst." Malady remarked.

"Weird is just a more negative word for interesting. And since being interesting is a most wonderful thing, I shall thank you for that compliment, monochromatically-color-schemed thing." Sim grinned.

'You're one to talk.' he thought to himself with a smirk.

Marl arrive with Khun Ying in his arms, surprised at the newest addition to the family. Still, he took things in stride and set Khun down on the floor.

"Good day, young sir, I am Marl. If there is anything you might need, you can easily approach me or Madam Huni."

"Ah! Good, good, very good! Excellent, wonderful, spectacular! I'll need a room of my own, preferrably one I can customize to my own liking. I'll start with my room before getting to the other rooms of this house. I promise, no one will recognize this drab place when I'm done!" Sim chattered, linking his arm into Marl's.

'I am definately going to like it here. Everyone's so giving!' he grinned. 'The only problem would be that gray thing...'

Khun Ying looked up as she watched Sim and Marl head towards one of the empty rooms. She has a new brother? That would be great! Someone bigger to play with and help bake things. She padded over to the dumbstruck Huni and nuzzled against her ankle.

Huni bent down and picked Khun Ying up, "Well, he seems harmless enough. I only hope he doesn't end up turning this place into a themepark or something...
PostPosted: Wed Feb 23, 2005 7:59 am

Huni Pi
"This is the place." Huni explained, leading the way towards the Through the Looking Glass antique store. Relief flooded the woman upon arriving at the store, the stares she and what had formerly been her necklace were getting unnerved her.

"My what a drab shop it is, it definately requires a touch of flare." the teen in the royal blue trenchcoat declared. His leather boots tapped in disapproval upon Durem's streets, while he dabbed at his temples with his semi-sheer orange kerchief.

'Hmm, it looks uninteresting enough, but then again, looks can be deceiving.' Sim thought to himself with a knowing smirk.

"Now Sam, you-"

"It's Sim mother." he corrected, his voice rising at the latter syllable of mother. Brushing off what was to have been an advice of keeping a low profile, Sim tucked his kerchief into his red pinstripe pants, and entered the store, trenchcoat flapping behind him as he walked.

'Let's see if things are as interesting here as it doesn't seem.' he grinned.

Huni stared up at the sky as Sim left her, "I'm doomed..."

XBear
Either fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how one looks at it, the Amazon teen was already in the store, lazily laying back on an armchair and throwing her throwing knives at a hand drawn target that she had made on the wall across from her. If someone hadn't been watching, the other teen may have walked into the pathway of the sharp flying objects.

Her eyes flicked once over to the extravant teen before she let another small knife fly, not even bothering to send a verbal hello, a simple nod being her only greeting.

Huni Pi
Sim quirked a brow ever so minutely at Zanna, and subtly gave her the once over (something he intends to do to every new person he meets).

"Gracious me, wherever did you get that lovely number?" he squealed, hands clasping together as he brought them to his cheek.

From where Huni was, the red head was a little worried for Sim's safety, since the Amazon teen seemed to be able to weild her weapons with accuracy.

"Now, Sim, let's not be a bother to the young lady." she suggested.

XBear
The teen's eyebrows seemed to narrow with the once over, widening abruptly when he squealed, shrugging her shoulders absently after a bit as she let another knife fly. "The skirt's from Greece..." She mad a lazy motion to the roughly pieced fur skirt she donned before continuing, "And I grew with this top... Why? Going to give crossdressing a try?"

Even though her tone was a bit snide, she was quite amused by this fellow, eyes flicking to the other red head for a 'greeting' before returning to the taller teen. "The name's Zanna. You are?"

Huni Pi
Huni gave a sigh of relief that Zanna had not attacked Sim, knowing that if she had been in her spot she would definately have chucked something at Sim.

"Lady Z... Darling Zan, hmmm, I can't decide which rolls off the tongue better." Sim tapped his chin thoughtfully before grinning. "I'll just have to use both!" he declared, arms sweeping upwards dramatically.

"And I? I am Lord Sammuelson Irum Me'arl." he introduced as he plucked his orange kerchief out of his pocket to give his bow an effect of sorts. "But my preferred sobriquet is Sim. If one insists on calling me by my first name, please include it all including my title." he instructed.

XBear
"Well Lordy, I prefer Zanna... Not Z, and most definately not Zan..." Her tongue clicked against the top of her mouth as she stood, moving across the room to collect her arrangement of knives in the wall. "Unless you want me to call you Sam, or even better... Sammy...?"

Once all her knives were collected, Zanna turned to him and gave him a slight smirk while she swiftly replaced her throwing knives in the two straps along her upper thighs, hiking her skirt higher to do so successfully.

"And your guardian's name?" The teen could sense he was a Simu, and most new Simu came with their guardians so she figured it was a safe assumption.

Huni Pi
"Alright, a compromise! Lady Zanna or Darling Zanna it is then. And as for how you address me, if you truly insist on Sam or Sammy... be warned that I may not respond as quickly as you would want." he chuckled, running his fingers through his hair.

'She can call me that all she wants but I won't acknowledge her without the Lord or the rest of my name.' he thought to himself.

"And your guardian's name?"

"Oh you mean mother? The medusa back home called her Madam Huni, although she certainly doesn't have the bearing for nobility. But still, she's my guardian so I suppose it's appropriate that she be addressed as such." he shrugged.

"But enough about her, tell me more of this place. Mother claimed I came from a necklace she purchased here. Are you, perhaps, like me? A being -a fabulous one at that- who came from an antique trinket?"

Huni felt it was best to stay where she was, at the shop's entrance. Sim seemed to be handling things just fine, and seeing the weapons Zanna was carrying, she didn't want to risk saying anything wrong. But if worse came to worse, she'd drag Sim out to save his hide.

XBear
"With my aim, it's in your best interest to respond as quickly as I would want." Zanna grinned in amusement at the teen as she finished replacing her last throwing knife before reaching over and grasping her spear that had been leaning against the wall.

Leaning against her main weapon, the teen raised her eyebrow once again with the other teen's rant on 'nobility', clearing her throat before responding almost lazily. "And if you just came recently yourself, praytell how do you know that you are nobility?"

Zanna herself was pretty sure that she was a queen, but still hadn't done the research or had the dreams to confirm it yet. "Ah, I came from a mirror... Several months ago, unlike you, who came as a teen... I was a child for a while before I grew."

"From what I gather about the shoppe, is that spirits are locked away in antiques and whatnot, and then with the right guardian, a child or teen is born from them..."

Huni Pi
"You cannot possibly expect anything Scarlet to quickly respond when you call it Pink, can you?" Sim smiled sweetly in response, one hand resting on his hip, the other softly gripping his kerchief. He mentailly chuckled at Zanna's questioning of his nobility, her point was indeed valid. But how does one explain that there are somethings you just... know? And whether or not it's true is completely irrelevant. Still, Sim believed it was always in his best interest to appear a fool.

"I am hurt, Lady Zanna! Your accusation of the ineligibility of my nobility has wounded me muchly!" He declared, free hand clutching his heart in feigned pain, "Your spear would not be able to pain me as much as your barbed words have." he adds, raising the back of his other hand to his forehead in exaggeration.

And it Zanna's words about her own origin, Sim apparently had forgotten his tyrade on nobility. "A mirror, you say? Gilded in gold and encrusted in jewels and other precious objects?" he asked, eyes shining as a magpie would when tempted with shiney things.

XBear
"But then again, I don't talk to colors..." Her eyes rolled openly at his display of 'hurt' by her words, one of her hands running through her hair absently. "I'm sure I could inflict pain far worse than you could fathom..."

Feeling amused, and in a slightly better mood, the teen moved her spear and jabbed his chest with the blunt end of the weapon. "Yes, golden and jeweled... Tis somewhere at home." A few more jabs and then she set the spear back down against the ground and leaned upon it. "You never answered my question from earlier... You trying to get into crossdressing? I could see if the Amazon's had a skirt like this in your size if you wish..."

The smirk was back, her eyes taking in his apparel for most of her talking.

Huni Pi
Sim gave a soft oomf with each jab, he only hopes his clothes did not tear. He wasn't adept at repairing them, not yet in any case.

"Crossdressing?" Sim visibly quirked a brow, "I have always believed -in spite of my short time in existence- that genders do not exist. That only society says what we may or may not do, and in essence wear." he nodded sagely, then a mischievous sparkle in his eyes appeared,

"Although I'm certainly up for any fashion adventure! Can you truly get me a skirt in that size? I can incorporate that with the kilts I saw in one of mother's old magazines. She had this particular one lying at the very bottom of the pile and had some pages dog earred. It was a bit of a shock to find that they were picture of-"

"Sim! We have to go!" Huni exclaimed, cheeks blushing upon Sim's discovery of the magazines her 'friends' had given her as a joke-gift ages ago. Without giving the teen a chance to respond, she grabbed him by the scruff of his trenchcoat's collar and literally dragged him out.

"Already? But mother I haven't finished conversing with Darling Zanna yet." his whine softly faded into silence as the two left.

Well, today was certainly a productive one. I've managed to dig up some of mother's old fashion magazines. The classics truly never go out of style. And how dare they declare shoulder pads as dead! It is an ingenous accessory, those heathens! But what do they know?

Just because they come across an acceptable design as a fluke people regard them as fashion geniuses! How inappropriate is that?! A fashion revolution must be made soon!!! Fellow undiscovered fashion savants unite!

My word, I should calm down before I go into cardiac arrest...

What other event that occured today that is worth recording for posterity's sake? Ah yes, I met Darling Zan today. I wonder how she sees me? I hope I wasn't overdoing the fool's part, exaggeration must be made in moderation or else I'll appear to be compensating for something. Which I'm not, after all everyone has limitless possibilities and this applies to moi as well. But not anyone is aware of this, however.

Lady Z didn't talk to me in a condescending manner, she was unimpressed at best, and that is definately not a good sign. Maybe I did overdo the fool's role...

In any case, the silly dear doesn't understand that I'm offering her my friendship by making a sobriquet just for her. After all, who else will I call Lady Z? Each little nickname is as unique as one's sense of style after all. Hers is a bit rough around the edges, and as lovely as that skirt is, she is too... earthy. I can just hear her fashionable side calling out to me, begging me to dress her in more vibrant hues! Yes! Azure or Pale Orchid will definately complement the browns and darker violets of her clothes. Now if only I had something to bestow upon her... I must remedy this lack of gifts tomorrow.

I have it! I shall convince mother to go shoe and fabrics shopping post haste! After all, who can resist going shopping!!! And now I must end this little entry so that I may make a comprehensive list
