The cheerleaders hate us. We have never had anyone in our band who has ever been a cheerleader. Just last week they made up a cheer that went something like "We don't need the music, we don't need the band, all we need are fans" or something like that. Needless to say, our entire band was offended, but when our BD talked to the principal about it, he said there was nothing he could do. it should also be noted that the principal is at all of the boys' basketball games but at none of our marching competitions. >.>;

exdraghunt Ha. at our school, the cheerleaders'll go "hey band, shake your booty." And we all go "No way," but then we do it anyways. then we get to yell ,"Hey Cheerleaders, shake your booty," and they do it too. Our band director says we need to make freinds with the cheerleaders, but we know he dislikes them just as much as we do. ours is the same way...but we have reason to dislike them...but thats a diffrent story..in my school being with any relation to band is like taboo...i could say a couple choice foul words but heres what ive said to a cheerleader before...i am darn proud im in the band, and i don't care what you think. just because you can wear a short skirt and cheer dosent make you any better than the rest of us....how this got started was a cheerleader who is a well you know but cornered me in the hall and said something like Why are you in such a useless thing like band, its stupid and a load of crud. No one ever cares for you, the only reason its there is because you can't find anything to do with your stupid lives and the crowd never comes for you.....well lets see after every game at half time over HALF of the crowd leaves....every game we easily have over 200 people at every game....so you see what eventually shut her trap...BUT i am in no way shap or form dissing any cheerleader i have a few friends its the rest im not to fond of...im gonna stop typing now. sweatdrop

Yea at my school (even tho im in 8th ive been to the high school many times to watch the marching band pratice..)The band and cheerleaders dont mix period.Band is made fun of by just about everyone..exccept chiour.And at the high school the relationships arnt all to great sweatdrop ... Heck me and a few good friends were walking around after school to the band hall and some cheerleader had the nerve to say the folloing...
"Why the hell do you nerds take band you dont do anything anyway besides blow into useless blocks of metal.."
See normaly i would of blown up in her face...but my band director and our AP (assisstant principal) were there i just simply said band is more useful then wearing a flippin skirt and kicking your legs up in the air..
But theres also 1 thing band has that cheerleaders dont We got heart and the ability to stick together (with the usual friendly pranks every now and then)

Either my school is just that wonderful or you guys are messed up but cheerleaders and marching band get along great @ my school. Last year we had a joint practice so the color guard and cheerleaders could write a routine to the fight song.

It depends on which group, the varsity squad is decent, stupid, but they're not jerks. We do get irked though because they always seem to demand a song for one of their cheers right before our drum major is getting his hands up to start one the band wants to play. With our school being a bunch a douches, we have to put them and football players first. But we have fun screwing with them sometimes, not in a mean way but...yea our drumline sometimes plays things at double the speed and the cheerleaders get so thrown off. We exchange gifts occasionally though and they yell "Go band!" every blue moon but hey, it's something. Ugh but this one time they had to come on one of our buses and...there's a reason that they are not the choir whee They decided to sing every skanky song at top volume and murder every good song. Eventually they were overpowered by bando cheer songs. Still some of us came off that bus, terrified and scarred. Nice girls, but not too bright. The freshman squad and the jv squad however are, pardon my language, immature bitches. They stand on boxes in front of the stands on the track to cheer, one of them thought it would be funny to leave it there, and laugh as one of our bass drum girls trip on it. We were pissed. evil

Thats like a sin in our band.
The cheerleaders, football players, (most) ot the basketball players, and all the baseball players are anti-band. They think that band is "uncool".....So we don't really associate very much...

well, i've never been a big fan of the cheerleaders. i've never liked any of them (with the exception of like 2 or 3 of them) because they were always nothing but a bunch of (pardon my language) stuck-up bitches. when i was in middle school, there was a cheerleader in my section, and she always sat next to me. she would mess up a lot, and always pin it on me! plus, she always took any opertunity to make fun of me (as did most of the cheerleaders). but i loved it at the pep rallys because the students mainly came to listen to the band, to cheer for the janitor (he was the school celebrity during football season), and to make fun of the cheerleaders. and tehy still thought that everyone loved 'm even though tehy could easily hear the ridicule.
so even now that i'm in a different city, and in high school, and a bunch of the cheerleaders are way nicer, i still don't like them. i just can't bring myself to.
...i can't believe i wanted to be a cheerleader in elementary... emo cry gonk i'm so ashamed...
