I don't really feel that lucky. I have to drive for fifty hours before I can get my license, and I think driving is scary.

I know, man. And that's so retarded too. Because it's easier to drive there because the cars are smaller and everything is closer together! scream

Yeah. But I don't mind too much... it's easy enough to get around without a car. The drinking age is only 16 though.. Except you don't drink, right? So I guess that wouldn't matter to you xp Oh well.

I have drank before, but it's not like I do it regularly. But, I've had my times...

I don't know, I think it's probably 16 in Germany too xp But that doesn't mean they won't serve you if you're younger...
I think it's actually a pretty good system. Drinking isn't a big deal over here. It's not taboo, it's not rebellious. If you're 15 or 16 and want to have a drink, no one's going to stop you. Even when you're younger, alcohol is just part of life. Plenty of kids will have a glass of champagne on New Year's Eve even if they're only 13. Or wine at a fancy get-together. And because of that, a lot of kids don't even really care whether they drink or not. And if they do drink, it's just at parties as a social thing. They don't go out just to get trashed (well there are probably some people who do, but not the kind of people I hang out with.) But even if they do get drunk, you're not allowed to drive until you're 18. And by then, you've probably already been drinking for years and know how it affects you and what your limit is, and you'll drink responsibly... so there are less accidents because of drunk driving..

Yeah. Kids over here drink to get drunk, because it's "cool" to drink underage and stuff. And then they end up doing stupid things while they are drunk...(getting pregnant, getting someone else pregnant, getting tattoos that you didn't realize you were getting, car accidents, physically hurting other people, etc etc.)
My neighbor is from Germany, and her like...neice or something was visiting and she could speak some English so I was trying to have a conversation with her. Somehow it led to the different drinking ages and driving ages, and gas prices and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure she said the drinking age in Germany is twelve. O.o Or fourteen or something. xd I remember that if I was in Germany, I could be able to drink and I'm only fifteen.

Homecoming is basically like, this big football game. Usually it's the school's last football game of the year, unless they make the playoffs. The next day there is a dance to celebrate it, and after the dance people have parties. Before the dance, your date always takes you out to eat and everyone gets together for pictures, and you can get a professional picture of you and your date at the dance if you want. There is also a "homecoming court" which is a group of students that people vote for (it's usually the most popular kids of the school) and then one girl and one boy gets elected to big homecoming queen and homecoming king.

I bet if they got really trashed once, and felt miserable the next day, and then in school everyone was talking about something really stupid they did while drunk, they'd realize it's not so fun after all...
