Merei felt herself jump a bit as the gunshots flew through the air rapidly, going back in forth in a repeating manner. It wasn't that she was scared of battle. Oh no, in fact it exhilerated the girl, but it was merely the fact of where the battle was. She could witness everything from the comfort of her doorway, which showed that trouble was going to be at her footstep rather soon. For within her tavern there were those who were pirates and those who were of the navy. Sooner or later chaos would break out between them, and she would be the one responsable. Not only that but the wounds that people would receive would give her a hard time. She knew such basic healing skills, and could always put people in the inn part of the tavern, but still she only knew a few basic healing spells, and not all people accepted magic being used on them.

Sighing, Merei turned to walk back into the tavern. However, her eyes caught a sight of a person who was obviously a pirate, trying to help a wounded ally. I should just help him... He is a pirate... She told herself, before yelling out to the boy who was helping him,

"Get inside my tavern. I'll help you!"

Rab was dragging Will to the Butterfly when he heard a girl shouting to him. He looked over at her and saw her in the tavern's doorway. Its worth a shot. he thought. "Hold yer horses lass, I'll be there in a minute!" he called back and hoisted William over his shoulder and started running across the street. As he ran he felt something graze his leg. It was a bullet that if came an inch closer would have punctured his leg, but thankfully just left a hole in his trousers. With his free hand he yanked his flintlock pistol free from his sash and shot the navy b*****d who fired at him right between the eyes. "Make way!" he said as he trudged towards the doorway.

Merei continued to watch the boy as he made her way towards her, clenching her teeth as a bullet nearly shot the poor boy. However, thankfully, he wasn't hurt and successfully made his way over with his fallen fellow crew member still in his arms, who she was welcoming into her tavern to heal. Though where would she put him? Up on her personal floor? That would be the best choice, considering he would receive the best care there.

"Follow me." She ordered the boy, turning and walking into her beloved tavern.

Victoria walked down the streets through the madness with a twisted smile on her face. Her sword was stained with blood and a group of dead Navy followed her. She walked through the chaos killing all who stood in her way. In truth she was enjoying herself, if not through her own sensless slaughtering then through the irony of some of the navy being forced to fight their comrades whom she had just killed.

Someone bumped into Victoria. She reached out not noticing who it was and grabbed their forehead, she summoned up some of her dread power and formed a hex, "Congratulations, you have lung, heart, and pancreatic cancer." before walking away to hunt her next kill.

Jack walked down the streets with his scimitar in one hand and a large bag of loot in the other. He swung the sword lazily at his side at times cutting down the navy man who entered his range. Victory was sweet but he wanted to get back to the ship to unload first. He crossed over to his flat black hornet and got in putting the loot in the back. He turned the engine on and lifted off toward the ship.

Victoria never grew bored of mindless slaughter and this was no different. Her undead soldiers served as both meat shields and cannon fodder. She would throw a few to block shots fired at a pirate or more importantly herself or would make a dozen gang up on two or three navy. A crooked smile was across her face that had a few blood splotches on it. Her blade and arm her drenched and the blade had flecks of what had once been bone and gray matter. It was nice. She walked up to one of her servants and ripped his head off before sucking out a few juices to restore what little health she had lost in the battle. "Mmm tasty." She licked her lips maniacally.

Victoria finally turned with her army of mindless zombies and started to walk away from the streets. She had already killed everyone she had felt like killing that day and wanted to here what the captain had to say. Maybe she would get to kill someone if she was lucky.

Canti looked at Liberty City Streets in awe as he was very shocked at how barren they are. He leaned on the bar rail, knowing that he could fall off to his death. He smiled playfully, ignoring the dangerous cautions, and simply observing its beauty.

"Hmmm...this is Liberty City huh...? Its nice."

Cassy arrived soon after Canti. His expression betrayed that this was the first time he'd been here; at least Cass wasn't alone in that department. The shock on his face turned in to wonder and Cass stared at him, wondering what he could possible believe is so "wonderful" about this city.

" Its a 'ell hole... " She thought, as if trying convince herself of this fact.

The outdoor air was doing wonders for her body and she began to feel less and less sick. She lingered around the guardrail with Canti, but soon became restless.

" Didn't we come 'ere tah eat? "
She asked him; her patience obviously wearing thin.

"Well yeah...but you have to understand. I don't know where I am. All I know for sure that this is the Liberty City Streets."

He turned around and looked at the sky. Although the sky was filled with pollution, and there was more litter on the ground than a cats dream, but the thing about it was. Canti came from a really crap town. Really terrible. Mainly because of the corrupt part of the navy kept it in poverty.

"Its not that bad is it?"

Jack found a parked ship and sent the captains orders post haste to the Gambit, but something caught his eye not to far from him. He moved to the top of the ship and stared at the sight. It was one of the crew members standing close to a man in Navy garbs. His head cocked to the side like a cat intrigued by the sight, though his same blank face still remained. "Well, well, well, isn't this a sight to see."

Cassy stood, petrified. How could she have forgotten that Canti was Navy?! Surely Jack would tell Captain Julian that she was with a Navy officer. She needed to act fast. She shuffled away from him and towards Jack, looking at Canti with hostile eyes. " Yeh...yeh...dirty piece of rat scum! " She spat at Canti; her face twisted with all the anger she could feign.

" 'ow dare yeh try tah kidnap me?! In front o' me own mate! "
She grabbed a handful of gunk that litter the street and threw it into Canti's eyes, then kicked him in the groin. She watched with saddened eyes as he fell on one knee and looked back up at her. How she wished she hadn't had to, but it was the only thing she could think of.

Canti fell to the floor in pain before he could even make out who the person that spoken was. The pain was excruciating, he swore loudly. Potty mouth could describe it well despite he polite and civilized manner. He looked up to look at Cassandra and to see what was wrong.

She was scared? No sad...possibly. Why...why was she sad, kicking me there should have a different emotion expressed. Angry. Irritated? Happy?! Not sad...

"What the hel-Ahhh!"

Before Canti could finish his phrase, Cassandra tossed trash into his face. Many items collided into his eye. He was in shock already, and the liquid he previously drank started to take its revenge on him. He suddenly collapses to the floor and passed out.

Jack landed on the ground softly barely making a sound. There was more her than met the eye and Jack was certain of it as he approached the two. He stopped and looked down at the pathetic navy form laying on the ground just before his feet and then turned his eyes over to Cassy. He was examining everything about the scene that he could collecting all the data that he could. Finally Jack reached into his jacket and pulled out a Dessert Eagle. The clip was loaded and all it needed was to be cocked an fired. He held it out to Cassy, "You know what to do. The only good Naval man is a dead one." Her reaction this time would give jack all of the information that he needed.

Cass grabbed the revolver from Jack and responded snidely, " Yeah. I know what tah do with 'im... " She faced the gun towards a now unconscious Canti and cocked it quickly.

" What tah do?! "
Her mind raced. All possibilities flashed through her mind, but none seemed adequate enough. She could run away, but that was a coward's way out. She could shoot him, but that seemed out of the question. Feigning a lethal shot, shooting him in the leg or arm, would just prompt Jack to finish Canti off for real. She lost anyways; it seemed hopeless. Jack stood behind her; monitoring her movements, her hesitation. Her index finger wrapped itself around the trigger and squeezed gently.

BANG!

Cassy, defeated, allowed her arm to fall limply to her side and hung her head down, causing her hair to cover her face once again. She'd shot about five inches above his head; an obvious miss. She'd missed him on purpose. Canti remained unharmed and Cass had allowed it.
