At first, she started with a nice impulse, to get in gear, but soon running became natural for heer, like an easy jogg, so that right now, it was more awkward to stop than to keep running. It was obvious she wouldn't be able to keep up with him; she'd have to go full speed and if he wanted, he'd outrun her. However.. She was good an longivity. And Ata was anything if not persistent.
"In your dreams, cheetah boy! " She shouted ahead at him, continuing her nice, ocmfortable run. She was fine with him going ahead, really. This wasn't a race, now was it?

The cheetah continued his easy pace; this was getting boring. Kimanda huffed and halted, whirling around on his haunches in a fall half-circle. He began to trot towards Ata, tail swinging side-to-side. He was still moving. They never said what direction he was to move in. Besides, by himself was lonely. If he had to run, he could at least talk to the lioness as he moved along. It made running easier, actually, when there was someone to distract you once you started nearing your limit.
Once he reached Ata, he swung around and loped a few steps until their sides were practically brushing. "So, what's the prize for the winner?" he asked, grinning. This was a competition, wasn't it? So naturally, the champion should get something for a reward. He wouldn't mind a reward.
Kimanda was forgetting he had run all day just to get here.

For a moment. Ata quirked a brow. Was he quitting? But he didn't seem to have. Soon she found the cheetah had pulled up beside heer, and couldn't help but move slightly to the side, surprised by his sudden getting close.
"Sorry, but I've nothing to give. " she grinned meekly, and kept running. However, what Ata didn't know, is nearby a rhino was leaning on a tree, and that she'd passed a bit to close. And thing was.. That particular rhino.. Well, knew her. Yup, the very one she'd once crashed into, and which had seemed quite determined to return the favor. With an added lot of weirg and brute strenght.
A disgruntled snort sounded behind her, and soon the odd thundering of rhino feet. She hadn't even noticed it! It'd lookled likee a termite mound backed up by a tree! "What the.. " Confused, she glanced back, and saw the beast. "Holy.. " He eyes went wide, and before she knew what she was doing, she sped up. "How about who wins lives?! "

Kimanda was about to rather disgruntled with her response. Why would he bother wasting his precious energy romping around with a lioness if he wasn't going to get anything out of it? And then, before he had the chance to be an aggravated, annoying cheetah, Ata's attention was dragged elsewhere. The brown cheetah huffed dramatically, but that didn't seem to work. What? He flattened his ears and turned his head. What could possibly be so interesting she forgot all about their-
"What!?!"
The cheetah accelerated alongside Ata, keeping up with her but not putting enough distance between himself and the rhino. If he ran off, one of two things could happen. A) The rhino could get Ata. B) The rhino could get Ata and then come after him; he'd be too tired to outrun by then. In fact, he wasn't going to last forever going like this either.
"What the hell are we supposed to do!?" he yelled, not risking a glance at the lioness. How does one escape a charging rhino, anyway?

"I have no idea! " She shouted, but only because the wind pounded in her ears, making listening hard. "Last time.. I ran up a.. tree! But we're short out of those! " She said, speeding up as mucha s she could. She did feel her lungs begining to burn under the strain of the rush, but she couldn't quite stop now.
"M-maybe we can.. make him.. trip! " Ata shouted, ears against her skull as if to help with speed. "Me and my sister had to jump over a hole to get rid of him! "

Why? Why was this happening to him? What had he done to deserve death by rhino? With a lioness who had bruised his ego, no less. He surged forward every time she did, but he wasn't sure how many more times he could push himself forward. He was more tired than he cared to admit, having traveled all day and what not. Why? Why did he challenge her? Why didn't he realize that, inevitably, something would go wrong?
"Jump a hole? What hole?" he hollered. Well, at least it wasn't climbing trees. Having never attempted to climb more than a small boulder his entire life, Kimanda wasn't sure he could actually make it up a tree fast enough to avoid being skewered by that angry...rhino. Or make it up the tree at all. ....he'd rather not think about that. He needed to focus on his nasty predicament right now.
"D'ya think he would get dizzy if he chased us in really small circles?"

"I dunno. " She panted a bit, glancing back at the rhino. Damn, why did those dumb things have horns?! "I'll try! " She shouted, then seemed to slow down a bit, allowing the rhino to catch up to her a bit, then starting to run in a circule, the rhino seeming to at first bother following her, but then it seemed to try cutting through the middle of the circle to reach her.
"Crapcrapcrapcrap! " She groaned, shooting into a wider circle so he couldn't reach her as easly.

Kimanda was startled, to say the least, when she decided to exacute his idea by herself. That plan was for both of them. The cheetah skid to a stop, eyes locked on Ata and the rhino. Oh no. She wasn't doing it right. That rhino was going to get her! Kimanda puffed up and flattened his ears to his head. He had to do something to help her!
"Hey you!" he hollered to the beast. "Yeah! You! With the wrinkly skin! Pick on someone your own size!"
Haha. Yeah. Right.

The rhino stopped, its small ears swivveling at the cheetah. It didn't udnertsand what the cheetah spoke but the tone was all it needed. It snorted, lowered its head, and charged.
Oh, boy. That guy was a genious, wasn't he? Ata tilted her head, skidding to a halt a first, and then shooting off-- not to flee, but after the rhino. She ahd jumped on it once-- she could sure as hell do it again!

Oh, gods. It was chasing him. It was charging him. It was charing him. Kimanda flicked an ear and waited for the beast to get closer, muscles quivering. Believe it or not, he did put a bit of thought into this wild escape before shooting off his mouth. He waited just a little longer, just until he was almost sure he wasn't going to make it. The cheetah sprung to life, twisting in the air so he was facing away from the rhino when he landed. And Kimanda ran, ran like his life depended on it (because, quite frankly, it did. He didn't know what Ata was up to).

She was catching up to the rhino, but admittedly, Ata was more tired than it was. However, soon enough she leapt, and was ontop of the beast, who at first seemed to not care, then stopped, and started to jump around.
"WOO! " Ata yelled, but strangely enough, she seemed more amused than anything as she clung to it. She was in a better position this time, and keept her hold on the rhino as long as possible as it thrashed about. Soon it'd tumble, and give her time for a getaway. But for now, she just had to cling.

As Kimanda sped off, he was paying attention to nothing except what was in front of him. Until, of course, he realized that the beast was no longer chasing him. That was rather puzzling, considering how angry the tank of an animal was when it started off. So Ki skidded to a halt. The rhino was a far way off, having a fit of some sort. Weird. Ki trotted a few steps forward. Wait?
Ata was on the rhino?! Was she mad?
"...are you okay!?"

"I'm fine! " Ata shouted, though ended up biting her tongue on one of the lips. Damn, it sucked to have pointy teeth. "OW. Im sfill fain! Af gof a flan! " She shouted, her injured tongue making her speech messed up as she clung to the rhino, who seemed to be taking turns between leaping and running in tight circules.
"Ah don fis fefore! "

"...okay!" Kimanda called, though he was pretty sure this was Not Okay. Ata was riding around on a bucking rhino and there was nothing the cheetah could do. He scowled and planted his rump on the ground. All there was to do was wait...and be ready in case he needed to rush in in an attempt to save the lioness.
Gods. He hated waiting.

The game kept on a bit longer, untill finally, the rhino becan to stumble over its large feet, and hit the ground. Ata was off in a flash, dashing in Kimanda's direction full speed as the rhino clumsly attempted to get up, clearly slightly confused by what had just happened.
"Lets go! Now! " She shouted as she got closer to the cheetah, trying to keep her breath for longer. but now, Ata was admittedly tired.
