"Yeah yeah... The turtle, that's it." Genge nodded, still panting for breath as he glared at the rock/turtle. "The thing just tossed me off, that's all. No big deal." He grunted, finally managing to stand up the rest of the way without passing out. He knew full well the rock had done nothing, of course, but sometimes it was best not to argue with Yamir on these matters.
Genge flinched as Yamir got in his face, glaring at him a bit before giggling slightly as Yamir did the same. What on EARTH had gotten into him? The little pink cub had a sort of love-hate relationship with his brother's 'specialness', but right now he wasn't sure which side he was on.
"Let's play... The go home and sleep game." He said with a yawn, taking a small step back toward their den and nearly tripping in the process. "First one to fall asleep wins." To anyone else, the sarcasm would have been apparent, but he was putting his money on the fact that Yamir would think it was a real game.
"Ready? Set? Go!" He scampered clumsily through the tall grass between them and their little home, tumbling though the dirt and slipping on pebbles. He glanced back to make sure Yamir was following. Maybe he was a bit strange, but he couldn't just leave his brother out here with the snake/sticks and rock/turtles, could he?

Yamir's face lit up at the newly suggested game, a sort of 'OH BOY' expression, to be exact, waiting to see how the game was actually played, and actually being missing enough to not realize there was a tone to go with this 'game'. Petty much a ploy to put him, willingly, to sleep.
And he fell for it, bounding after his brother happily, though there was no race to get 'home' first, rather than to sleep first. But he needed to be home first so he could fall asleep first and win! Win what, he didn't know nor did he care enough to go and ask about it. Yamir just wanted to win!
Like his brother, he slipped on any possible surface, tumbling over rocks, grass, dirt, and even air, giggling as he recovered and running all the more quickly, until he had to stop to take a 30-second 'air break', just to confirm he was breathing, before starting off again.
"I'm gonna wiiiiiiiiiinnnnn!" he declared loudly before tripping over, yet again, something else, landing with a plop on his belly, sprawled out with grass bent in every which-way direction was possible for it to go underneath him.

Genge smiled as he saw Yamir chasing after him, and sped up. This only increased his clumsiness, however, and he eventually ended up flat on the ground only a few feet in front of his brother.
"Nuh-uh!" Genge called, slightly more loudly than needed, "I'm going to get there first!" He declared, scrambling to his feet rather awkwardly as he tried to regain his footing, before dashing off again. This time he didn't bother to check on Yamir's progress, because he really DID want to win at something, even if it wasn't exactly a 'real' game.
All the energy he was expending was taking it's toll on his little body though, and the closer he got to home, the farther away it seemed. His unusually weak and frail body refused to keep on running, even though his mind desperately wanted to get there first, to prove he could do something right, even if it was just a game. His pace slowed, much to the cubs dismay, and soon he could barely move, trudging through the grass and rocks as if he were knee-deep in mud.
Suddenly, this game wasn't a whole lot of fun any more.

"Nuh-uhhhh.." Yamir slurred back, probably just as exhausted as his less-energetic brother, as he forced himself to get back up, fully tempted to just plop asleep right there in the grass. But they were almost home! And when they got home, they could both just 'ker-plop' and fall asleep right there.
Which meant they needed to get home first. And it was so close!
"We're almost there.. and I'm still gonna win!" he said as 'challengingly' as possible in his half-awake voice, despite being fully tired and only trodding along at his own pace. If only mommy or daddy were there. Then they could be carried home.. maybe.
Or maybe daddy would go 'You two need to be strong enough to carry yourselves home if your tired' or something like that. Nzigu always said warriors had this sorta.. 'strong person' tendancy according to his mother's stories.
But he wasn't a warrior right now, soo.. "I wish daddy was here to carry us home.." he suddenly whined, but still trodded along as slowly as ever.

"No, I'm going... To... Beat you... There..." Genge could barely force the words out of his mouth, and decided to stop talking for a moment or two. He had to wonder why they had chosen to go so far from home to play, but it didn't really matter now. All that mattered was getting home. Getting home, and being safe and more importantly, asleep.
Genge nodded at the mention of their father. Maybe he would come! Maybe if they called for him, he'd come and get them! But no... He hadn't the energy to call out loudly enough to be heard, nor the heart to disappoint his father once again with his weakness. Even though Yamir was tired too, he was sure that their father would not be happy about having to carry his cubs home because they were too tired to walk.
Sure, he would carry them if they asked, but was it worth it? They wouldn't hear the end of it, not until they were as big and strong as him. Perhaps Yamir could do that one day, but even now Genge doubted he'd become something his father could be proud of.
After walking in silence for what seemed like forever, the two cubs finally made it back to the den. Genge smiled weakly for a moment, before waddling inside and flopping on the ground, asleep in seconds.
And THAT'S why he didn't like to leave the den.

As Genge never made any attempt to go and try to get their dad to come and get them, Yamir also made no such attempt, simply tumbling along after his brother at their slow little pace of tired-doom. But they were cubs. They were meant to play until they were exhausted.
Stumbling into the den after his brother, Yamir plopped down tiredly on the floor, barely inside. But, unfortunately for the 'game', he was still awake to see Genge fall asleep, and tiredly muttered, "Darn.. you win.." curling up and plopping his tail over his face.
With a slight tickle of fur and a half-awake sneeze, the blue cub followed suit of his older brother and closed his eyes, falling asleep in pursuit of his older sibling quite quickly and bringing an end to their brotherly playdate.
