NekoGod But mages have to take time to cast, except if they prepare the spell ahead of time. >< They would have to be faster than a bullet... domokun And mages aren't to good... They die way fast.
@Kyle- Who's really going to use the box? ?-?
That's why they have instant spells. :3 You're looking at a 60 Undead Mage who handed a level 65's a** to him. talk2hand He was all *SWISH SWISH WITH MAH SWORD* and I was all, *Freezes you in place, fireballs you, cleacasting with instant pyroblast, instant fireblast, freezes you again with cone of cold, hits you up with arcane explosion a few times, then finishes you of with another pyroblast*

Well if the box is decent, then it would be a good move then yes? Maybe not for protection, but other stuff?
Well yes, but you can't really make a spell that big in a video game.

It's was an example. >>
A mage either deals the most amount of damage, or deals the same damage as an attacker to all it's opponents.
Also, healing is way more useful than items. You have to pay for items contantly, while a mage(priest/white mage etc.) could heal you a lot more more often. I have never seen someone go through an RPG using only Melee characters. o__o It would be very hard and repetitive. gonk

o3o -has gone through an RP with an only melee character- It's not that hard... And I was staying strictly with SSBB. Most spells tend to have a cool down time, if only a time one in some instances.

Cool down time? Like what? They have time when you cast it, having to move and stuff, but they give you range. Besides, special powers aren't that great for anyone. I hardly ever use them.

Cool down time like, the time it takes for the character to perform the spell and it to go into motion.

That's lag, not cool down time. Cool down time is the time it takes for you to cast it again.
Oh, and not all magic in SSB is casted. Zelda's smashes, except down, are all magic-based attacks.

In the games I usually play, the cool down time it the time it takes for the potion to work (restore 100 HP over so many seconds, not instantly), or the time it takes for the spell to activate.

That doesn't make any sense...
The verb cool down has 3 meanings:
Meaning #1: make cool or cooler Synonyms: cool, chill
Meaning #2: lose intensity Synonyms: cool, cool off
Meaning #3: loose heat Synonyms: cool, chill
