Björn shook his head and then decided enough was enough, picking Hellis up around the waist while the poor young man still counted coins.
"C'mon, Crow. Let's book it before someone with fashion sense shows up."

"Coming," Crow chirped, trailing along beside Björn, looking very much like an exceptionally tiny child toddling after their father. For once, though, she didn't really mind the insane height difference.

Björn, who had never really noticed it before, was still not noticing it now. The portal was set quickly and he stepped through, stooping to fit.
The group was now gathered on a rather busy Vavvian street, various persons jostling about and around them, most sneering.
"For the record, I have no idea where I'm going."

Indifferent to the behavior of passerby she'd done nothing to annoy except by existing, Crow gave a shrug.
"I dunno. I can get lost in my own house, so I'm not the one to follow," she said, casting a look around. "Though....somewhere particularly expensive and full of shiny things could do nicely."

Björn used one hand to heft Crow up and place her on a shoulder, putting her a good three feet above the crowd.
"I know you can't read Vavvian, but make an educated guess. I can't see s**t." Shops surrounded the group, only one or two of which had clothes in the window.

Perched like a funny-looking wingless parrot on Björn's shoulder, Crow looked around and made her thinking-face again.
"Ah! Oooh, that one, that one," she said finally, pointing to a store with decently shiny things in the window and offering a look inside at row upon row of clothing racks stuffed in every available corner.

Björn went up on his tip-toes and peered in the direction Crow was yelping. He shrugged, grabbed Crow's ankles in one hand, a Hellis under one arm and barged his way through the crowd, having to bend his knees and half-crawl into the building. He placed both of is companions on their feet and heaved a sigh.
"I see sweaters, Crow. Why did you bring me to a place with sweaters?"

Crow just grinned and looked pleased with herself again.
"Because they'll make you look dashing," she said, nodding resolutely.

"Dashing. Ugh," Björn fake-shuddered and began further into the store.
"If you two help me, and so help me God, I need help, I'll buy you both something shiny."
"OOOOOH~" And Hellis was off, running toward...the sweaters. Ugh.

"Yay, shinies," Crow chirped, dashing off to find something suitable. She rooted through jackets and a spectacularly ugly rack of mutant dress shirts, tutting and murmuring speculatively to herself.
"Heya, what about this?" she said eventually, showing off a few decently sized, regular short-sleeved shirts. They all sported an embroidered floofy bird logo, which Crow eyed a little disdainfully. "Hnn. That'd probably come right off..."

"Crow, no. Please," Björn snorted and half-smiled, "My reputation is already shattered, let's not pulverize it." He, however, didn't appear to be making any movements toward any clothing racks. For a gay man, he certainly had no idea about fashion.

Crow laughed and put the shirts back, diving through the displays again and hunting down clothes. Quite a few things were snorted at derisively and rejected, and finally she came back with a collection of dark, plain shirts and a few pairs of what looked like jeans, but really weren't. They pulled off looking like jeans rather well, though, Crow figured. She presented her findings with pride, picking off an inexplicable sock that had roosted in her hair.

"OH MY GOD!"
"....huh?"

"What? What is it? Bad things? Are bad things about to happen?"

And then gave an insane, happy little giggle. Björn smiled fondly.
"No, I don't think so. Come on." He turned then, heading casually toward the back of the store.
