Moses' eyebrow raised curiously, yet his expression seemed the same, emotionless, mundane, distant...keeping a close eye on the female as she spoke of a King and the Coven.
He didn't know of any of this, yet it intrigued him greatly...a curiousity he had long forgotten.
He'd only felt this when his mate's father came and took him to the oasis, speak of dead animals and generals...it all buzzed in his young mind and now all this speak of blood and darkness did the same.
And before he knew it he found himself purring slightly under his breath.

It was short lived though and he moved, continuing to block the pale females path to Afritti, like a huge white barrier between the two females as she continued to speak.
Her fangs looked deadly, however he showed no fear in the females presence and stared her down with his equally blood red eyes.

"You speak as though you mean to kill us both, but why should you? Why not let us pass?" He asked, the most he'd spoken all day really and he continued to stare at the other lioness.

At the change of mood the dark female's teeth flashed between her own lips, the fur ont he back of her neck leapt on end, that salmon streak becoming very spikey. She couldn't die, the cubs were behind them. Afritti's violet eyes glanced down the path they had come from and her tail lashed angrilly.

"Moses.." She whispered her body tencing as she looked at the pale and blood red femme, she wasn't going to die here she had to get back to the cubs. "You should bow femme you speak to a family decended from royal lines." Her tongue lapped out over her lips, she considered if her words would trigger something in this rather bi-polar female.

She had always felt herself a princess, if not a queen now, her father was dead and although the oasis pride had disbanded with his death the place still belonged to him and therefore to her when he passed on, she was after all the eldest of Nyekundu's daughters.

Despite her cocky words though and besides the fact that Moses looked extremely threatening standing before her a giant of a lion, threatening, a killer, her heart jumpped rappidly in her chest. What would happen if she could not return to the cubs?

Shaitani's eyes never left Moses, and she seemed to be unaware that Affriti was even there. To her, it was only him and herself in the entire world right now. Her eyes never blinked, an uncanny thing to think about.

"I'm hungry..." She growled as she paced around the pair, at the limits of what would trigger a charge from the pale lion. "I've not eaten well in months..." Despite her words, she didn't look as though she lacked for food. Her body was full and well muscled, her fur sleek and soft, if in need of grooming. She always forgot to groom... Drakul had often remarked on it, and she'd promise to, but forgot the moment he left her side.

"If I let you pass, then some other Child would find you, and then all that lovely blood would be gone... down the gullet of some greedy little leech..." She hissed as her tail lashed, furious at the thought of someone stealing what she already thought of as hers. "You will not make it out of this jungle, my darling... even if you slip from my grasp."

Her words had a strange note of sincerity, though she had no touch of the sight and couldn't know the future. She crooned lovingly as she stalked them, sounding more like a lover at a tryst than a hunter intent on prey.

The male never flinched as his body tensed with muscle, bright red eyes watching this female as she spoke, never blinking, never reacting till she was done and he took a step closer.
Moses was an intense male to start with, he was heavy set with muscle and a large mane and his fur was pristine white.
But this time, just the thought of being threatened...along with the fact in doing so this female threatened his entire family...well...no one can blame him for looking that little more intimidating.

"You are one of a pride of blood suckers then are you not?" It was an odd question, because it sounded like he knew anyway that the answer, if she did even answer him, would be yes...still staring at her with those dull eyes.

"...Your king...he's dead now correct?...what about your new king?"

Afritti watched silently as Moses stepped up to the proverbial plate. She couldn't help but secret a smile, he was so, masculine at times like this. He looked like he would take on this lioness and the rest of the world and she feintly knew that the reasoning behind this was her, her and their little family which lay tucked away beneath the large trees roots some distance away from where they stood.

A snarl rolled over her lips as she eyed the blood red female, though she stayed slightly behind Moses, her nose pressed in top his bristling mane, her neck pressed against his shoulder. She wasn't about to be killed her,a nd okay, she knew she was pretty much useless when it came to hunting, but to protect her family, she would fight beside Moses, beside the large defencive male whom loomed beside her like a huge shadowey statue.

"Blood suckers?" Afritti whispered, though she did not expect a reply from Moses, or the seemingly insane female, she simply wanted to confirm what Moses had spoken, her interest, was strangely piqued, though it was over riden by the fact that they were perhaps about to be eaten, she would question Moses later about this strange pride, once they were away and back with their cubs. She knew Moses would not allow anything to happen to her and that little peice of knowlege gave her a little more confidence to utter a growl at the other rather scruffy female.

Shaitani grumbled to herself, almost arguing, as she stared at the pair. She started as he stepped closer, jumping back a few paced as her head dropped and she growled low in her throat.

"Blood suckers... leeches... parasites..." She hissed before straightening up, her pose turning haunty and proud. "The Children of the Blood Goddess and the God of Flesh... The Coven... the night-walkers and shadow-hunters... The Mwana-a'lela! Do not sully the name of your betters..." She spat off to the side and licked her maw slowly as she turned back. Her indignation had done something to turn her away from her need for blood, but it still overed on the edges of her awareness, teasing and taunting her... right up until she thought of the death of her king and her face crumpled, her whole pose falling in on itself. Shai ended up on her belly in the leafmold, tearing at the forrest floor in her sorrow.

"Drakul, my king... my king is dead! He has gone and left poor Shaitani all alone... no friends, no family... No better than a worm to the Coven... oh, terrible night, to see no more of his lustrous dark form..." She howled out her pain as she clawed the earth. "His son... oh, ungrateful leech, pitiful worm! He is not worthy to be king, to lead the children of the night... And his poisonous mother! Queen, she was, but no more. Killed in an ambush with half the pride... Shaitani will spit on her shredded remains!"

The white and red lioness convulsed on the ground, tossing up leaves and dirt as she all but wallowed in it, her anger, rage, pain and sorrow building to the point that she finally threw back her head and shreiked, the sound enough to scare off small animals and raise the hackles of larger ones.

The mental stress of this female did little more than amuse the male, a smirk playing with the edges of his mouth...he enjoyed the torture of others, it enflamed his passion for the pain of others, but, it also gave him the inkling of an idea.
He had to say her words and pain filled shrieks intrigued him and made the male flinch, his poor ears, why were females so damn loud some time...oh didn't that bring back memories of the Oasis.

And as he briefly looked back at Afritti, he couldn't help but let his eyes wander over her to make sure she was alright...then turned back to the convulsing lioness and stepped closer, leaning down as he spoke.

"And why must you be alone?...why must your pride be unruled and be tainted by the past mistakes of the lower royalty?" He asked, blood red eyes not blinking as he stared at the female.
Moses never had any large ambitions for his life, no big future plans...however he couldn't help but wonder over the possible benefits of ruling a pride.

"What if you had a new King?" He started, voice still monotonous, but filled with a hidden passiong like some invisible bonfire, all the while still situated between the two females if the pale one tried to become violent.
"A King that would make your Drakul's memory last from this lifetime onto the next, a King that would bring new blood to the generation and the mouths of your starving pride...a King that would make sure no harm came to those in the pride unless they craved it..."

Yet again, the sweet, dark seduction of his voice was heard, a deep, seeded almost evil sound that was laced with nothing but sincerity and an emotionless tone that made him almost frightening.
It was clear to those with sense, what he was trying to do.

The salmon tinted femme raised a brow, she was convinced for a moment that she was dreaming. Truely she had never known Moses be ambitious but his words were all too familiar. He was volunteering to be their king. A shiver rolled down her spine the salmon streak standing on end.

When Moses looked to her she smiled and gave a nod, this smile, full of encourangement. She had long dreamed of being a part of a pride agaion, not a part an important part. Afritti'dogo had thrown off the title of princess when she had abandoned the oasis to it's fate. She had travelled with Moses, he was always at her side, whispering in her ear, his voice always cold, calculating, he had been a hard lion forever but he had looked after her watched over her.

Ultimately with time they had gone from master and slave to more and now she knew he was her mate, he was faithful to her though she was filled with jealousy when he left her and the cubs alone, that niggling feeling of her fathers roaming ways always in her mind.

The dark lioness stepped forwards holding her head high, she would be royalty again, she could help Moses, he was in charge now, so many things had changed, time had changed their lives and it seemed it led them to this moment. Pressing her shoulder against his flanks she looked down onthe bloody looking lioness, this seemed to her like an oppertunity, a placve where her cubs coiuld grow up safe, protected by a pride. It was strange that she would think of the cubs again, her whole life she had thought of herself and now the tiny bodies she cared for came first. If Moses ruled over this pride of vamperic creatures, they would be protected, very well protected from everything.

She gave a simple puurr of approvement to her dark maned mate, her dark eyes watching the lioness quietly searching for a reaction to Moses' questioning.

Shaitani stared wide-eyed up at the male as he loomed over her, stilling as his hypnotic voice ensnared her feeble mind. She found herself listening with avid attention, her soft forepaws curled against her chest as she lay on her back.

"Shaitani is always alone..." She murmured. Most of what he said was wasted on her, sadly, but the soothing, carressing tone of his voice was more than enough to convince her. "Such a king... such a king would be a pleasure to serve..." She murmured, a smile curling over her maw as she looked up at him.

She squirmed where she lay under him, her tail lashing against the ground. "The Coven shall rise, dark angels of the night... they shall rule as once they did, as once they could only dream of doing!" She began to giggle now, the sound soft and girlish, almost innocent despite her appearance.

The large male watched the squirming female, wrought with her mental turmoil but atleast she'd answered positively and he moved closer as he finally started to pull her in once more.
His bright red eyes became half lidded with dark temptation, the thought of becoming a king, protecting a whole pride...it made him remember his family and the old oasis.

"I will take the place of your pride King and rise the Coven from the ashes to become the burning, glorious sun it obviously was before." He said confidently, or as confident as he could be as his voice was still tinted with the dark seductive tone that bubbled within his throat before spewing forth like the fire of a dragon.
All the while he stood there and rose his head high as he spoke to the pale white and crimson female.

"Arise, Shaitani for if you accept me as your KIng and my mate as your Queen...than you'll never be alone again."

Afritti smirked and looked down on the bloody red female her dark purple eyes glimmering. She couldn';t beleive what she was hearing, it made her wonder to say the least. She had never seen Moses so, well excited about something. Not that he was in any way showing any sort of glee, he was, as always, the stoic male, but he seemed to be running with the idea of becoming a king.

When he turned to the dithering femme and mentioned her she gave a gentle nod to the pale female. His mate, he had said that word so few times, but she loved to hear it, she almost puurred, she loved the word, it made Moses hers forever. She rolled her shoulders though shaking away her happiness to move closer to Moses and stand strong at his shoulder. She said nothing, Moses' words were enough if this pride was where he wished to be, she would follow, she would very willingly follow and be a queen, she would be a much better queen than ever her father was a king, she decided silently. She would be a good queen with Moses at her side.

Shaitani frowned up at Moses, her expression suddenly suspicious. She lay still as she stared unblinking at him.

"The sun..." She hissed suddenly, fiercely. Her face twisted into a terrible snarl, claws springing from her paws to take a swipe at the pale and black male. The vapiress thrashed and sprang to her paws, dancing back out of his reach as her head dropped low. "Fool... The sun, the nasty, terrible sun, is our bane! You think you know so much, but you know nothing at all... coming here, claiming what is not yours, and thinking no one will challenge you, thinking the children, the Coven, would want to be something as ugly and terrible as the sun..." She let out a bark of laughter as she talked mostly to herself, red-tipped tail flicking behind her.

"No. The Coven shall spread like night fall over the world, blanketing it in their influence... Our king would be at the head of the wave, the source of the darkness that keeps us safe, craddled under its wings. Our King had much to learn, if he wishes to stay king." She smiled, a small, hard, cruel smile.

Something had changed inside the male at that, he sat there, head moving back as he was lashed at by the female yet no expression changed on his features as he listened to the ladies rant...the sun was their bane and their foe?
He paused a moment as she said her last sentance, watching her closely before he raised his left fore paw, blood red eyes never leaving the form of the pale lioness till he swiftly lashed himself over his other leg.
Not hard enough to leave a mark, but certainly enough to bring blood to the surface as he licked over it, making his white fur turn pink and crimson.

"Then on my blood I swear, I will keep your pride out of the sun light and only within the confines of the sweetest mother night...as your King." He then narrowed his eyes.
"And if I fail to uphold my promises...you and the rest of the Coven may drain me of every last drop of blood I have, even if I were to die, I will die feeding this pride and my family."

His words still rang with the darkness that pulsed through his entire being like the blood that wept from his tiny wounds.
And at the mention of his family he turned his head briefly to look at Afritti, his mate...the female he'd taken care of for so long...before turning back to Shaitani.

"But if I give myself in death as a King, no harm must be placed on my mate or my children, this I pledge...I will give myself over to the Coven and the eternal night, as your King and the wings that shall cradle you from the sun."

In less than a few minutes, the large, proud lion, had given himself a death sentance if he could not keep his promises and ensured the safety of his family and maybe even the safety of his own pride, if this female and the rest of the pride, accepted his offer.

Violet eyes fled between shetani and Moses, this little dance they seemed to be perfoerming was becoming a frightening experience for her, she had never seen one so strange as this one, she was strange, her moods changing as swiftly as the winds.

When Moses spoke of his life, of givign it to this strange shadowd pride she wanted to cry out. If he failed, if he failed he would die and leave her? She held back the cry of no, shouting out in such a dangerous situation would only compromise the matter at hand. Instead she stood strong, though her nose went to the shallow wound and she groomed the mark silently.

The dark femme could think of nothing to say, her deep, dark eyes showing little or no emotion to the moment,s he knew to show such things would be to show weakness. Inside she quiverred, she knew they would go to this pride, she knew that Moses must succeed, she would be sure that he succeeded, she would be a good mate, a great queen, she would help him when it mattered most. She silently took the job pressed against his side her eyes fixed upon the bloodily marked female.

These events might have been comical, if you had been an observer. The pair seemed to take the crazy little lioness so seriously, while she in turn jumped between thoughts and attitudes at the bat of an eyelash. If they chose to depend on her, she'd surely lead them astray with no more care for them than for her own hide, as evidenced by her many scars.

His promise seemed to sooth her, and she sank down to lay on her belly, feeling a tiredness that finally managed to penetrate her dementia. Such was Shaitani's life... running at break-neck speed, darting here and there, till exhaustion finally pulled her to an abrupt halt.

His question brought her eyes around, and the pale female looked over the darker one, seemingly for the first time this night.

"The Coven does not harm children." She murmured, blinking slowly. The broken wheels in her mind turned slowly, grinding out a coherent thought. "Queen... a queen that shall shadow the old one, and a King that shall rise above all others..." A grin slid onto her face, and her eyes suddenly flashed with a maniacal light, the lithe form darting to her paws. When she was close enough for them to hear the almost undetectable purr she was making, she stopped and stared up at them.

"You must become one of the children." She hissed to Moses, standing closer than was normally comfortable. "Only the chilren may come deeper into the jungle. You must renounce the outside world and come under the wings of the dark! You must become one of the Coven..."
