Shiri nodded. To a lioness with not much skills of hunting with others, the simple thought of them working together for one prey beast sounded incredibly intelligent. Perhaps Chunuka did not give himself enough credit as a hunter. Without emitting a word from her mouth, Shiri agreed and awaited Chunuka's departure from her side. She would wait until he wrapped around the small group of antelop and then take off, prepared to take down the one that she had claimed. She believed it to be enough for both her and Chunuka and if the two of them did not finish, they could certainly find another pridelander who was hungry.
As Chunuka made his way about, Shiri could see the precision in his approach. He was very careful and made not a sound as he neared the creatures. They were not alarmed by his presense, in fact, it appeared as though they did not notice him at all. Once he reached a certain closeness, Shiri's body lowered close to the ground. She seemed to disappear in the golden grasses and her body was tense, prepared to spring into action.
Shiri was prepared. In waiting. Her eyes remained opened, scoping the situation before her. When it seemed Chunuka was close enough to lead the antelope, they seemed to have noticed him. The small herd seemed to go into a panic and Shiri was suddenly uncertain as to what to do. Many of them began towards her, but they turned and jumped up when they were close enough to see her. Through the dust, Chunuka had shifted his path and found the one they had decided on together. He continued to chase and Shiri crept along the ground, aiming to continue their plan. Things had changed, but they had not yet failed.
With dirt in the air, their scents were now slightly hidden. They could take the panic to their advantage. At the sound of Chunuka's roar, Shiri dove in towards the antelope they had been boxing in. Shiri's strong jaws latched on to the prey beast's throat and she took it down.

Blinded by the dust, Chunuka drove himself onwards. He surprised himself with how fast he was, how powerful he felt. Hunting gave him a feeling that nothing else quite did. He was a lion. He was strong. He was on top of the food change.
He heard the antelope's gasping shriek just ahead and followed the sound, finding, much to his horror that his legs became entangled with the thrashing beast. It was lying on the floor, gasping for breath, desperate to stay alive. His body all but crushed the creature, pinning it to the ground with his weight. IIt's thrashing ceased and he risked a glance up.
They had done it.
"Shiri!" He all but blurted, his chest heaving with the sheer excitementof the hunt. He dug his claws into the antelope's flank and the weapons sank deep. Strange how usually sucha kindly creature as Chunuka could transform when hunting. Again, he was like his mother in that fashion.
"We did it!"
