Calentze had grown a good deal since he had last seen Locke, he looked wiser too. This situation was defeating him a little though, he was used to indifference on both nobles part, and from himself..but indifference from a person who was close was painful. Why was Locke distancing himself?? Calentze had though Locke would still be the same lovable, open character he had been back when they were in school.

"well, it seems you've changed alot" he murmured softly, bending down now to pick up the scattered books. How was he supposed to act?? The person he held dear was being so very cold to him. "..I never forgot you, you know" he said, straightening up with an armfull of books.

Locke watched Calentze with wide lavender eyes as he spoke once again. Locke shut his eyes to the situation. What exactly was he doing? A part of him had never forgiven Calentze. He had never forgiven the other for not rushing back. And now here they were, meeting up in a library after five years and Locke was just plain ruining it. He hadn't meant to ruin it.

Locke opened his eyes yet again as Calentze spoke and found himself nodding. He hadn't forgotten Calentze either, if Calentze was really being truthful. Yet instead of informing the other that he himself hadn't forgotten either he spoke, "I'm sorry." Probably the wrong place to speak those words. He was sorry for being such an alien figure now that they had finally met up once again. If this situation got to feeling anymore traumatic he was likely to just waltz out of the library without another word.

Calentze moved away from the shelves of box, past Locke and over to the armchair he had been sitting in, dumping them in the over-stuffed chair. He had to admit, he was a little hurt at Locke brushing him off so bluntly, it was making him close off. A good reunion was being ruined because of bruised prides and still fresh wounds. Calentze had just thought Locke was moving on, his research had gotten more demanding and it was needed for him to attend the balls, so he stopped and this led to him not seeing Locke again.

"what are you apologising for??" Calentze asked, turning a blank look to Locke. He was hiding behind an emotional mask now, great...really great. He brushed a hand down his staff, before picking it up. This was getting awkward, he couldn't stay here now. He was hurting. "if you'll excuse me, I need to go and sort a spell out before dinner is ready, I assume i'll see you then" Calentze murmured, bowing his head a little as he left. Locke was closing him out, then he'd stop being so open. It hurt when the one you loved didn't love you in return.

Locke felt a slight horror invade his system as Calentze questioned him on his apology. And now Calentze wanted to leave. Locke's throat closed up as Calentze went to leave. To him what had happened was obvious now. Calentze didn't care - didn't care if they associated anymore or not. Calentze was more interested in his spells and tomes and the like. Wasn't it obvious?

Even if he claimed that he hadn't forgotten Locke... "I..." He began, watching Calentze now go to leave. "Don't leave." Locke wasn't at all sure why he wanted to keep Calentze back. He just didn't want him to leave. In truth, he probably related Calentze leaving to anywhere as a bad thing now. Even if it had been eight years ago, Calentze had left to pursue his apprenticeship then. Locke didn't want him to leave again - especially not after the kind of brief exchange they'd just had.

Calentze felt awful, he cared so very much for Locke, so much he couldn't stand it and here Locke was, throwing it back in his face. He turned when Locke told him to leave, looking a little anguished over their actions towards each other. He walked slowly back over to him, a hand reaching out to cup his cheek. He cared, so very much.
"can't you see...how much I care...about..." Calentze took a breath. "why I haven't forgotten...when you're so important to me.." he was hesitating, he was blabbing too.

Why was it so difficult to say three short words?? He let his hand drop from Locke's cheek and simply leant forward, brushing a kiss to Locke's cheek, pulling him into a hug. He didn't want Locke to freeze him out.

Locke watched Calentze approach him once again, unsure as the other reached out to cup his cheek and spoke. Quite suddenly it felt as if nothing had ever changed to the Unicorn - as if they were back in school and hadn't been apart in the first place. Of course, Locke was still blocking out the one factor he always had - that they could have had a potentially serious relationship on their hands when it came to things such as love and the like.

Locke himself was feeling rather hesitant about some things - such as the hug and the kiss on the cheek that followed Calentze's speech. It was easy, he found. Easy to go back eight years as if neither of them had changed at all as he wrapped his arms around Calentze in the embrace and briefly kissed the other's cheek back. Would it remain so simple? Perhaps only time would tell - if they even had that anymore.

Calentze felt himself relax a little as Locke returned his affection-though it was an old greeting, it wouldn't be viewed as such. He pulled back a little, smiling at Locke as he brushed a long strand of midnight hair back from his face.

He had missed Locke, he wanted to do so much right now - hug him and kiss him and profess his love - but Locke's attitude towards him earlier stopped that. Instead he placed a kiss on his cheek again, winding his arms tighter around the young male.

"i'm sorry, I left" he murmured quietly, nuzzling his face inot Locke's silky soft hair. It felt nice to have this stage of affection back, it was what made their relationship special and different. They were open--kinda--and relaxed around each other.

Locke relaxed into the familiar feeling of Calentze's arms. He had many memories of hugs from his friend - he'd thought he'd kept those memories fresh, too. Apparently he hadn't. The memories were dull in comparison to the actual feeling of being hugged and kissed. Kissed on the cheek, of course. It was nice to be able to fall back into something so naturally now. As if physical contact was all the Unicorn had required to revert back to their old ways of friendship.

His listened to Calentze speak, shutting his lavender eyes as the other did so. "I missed you." He replied, softly. He'd missed Calentze too much. Perhaps his reactions right now were even coming off as a little desperate because of it. Falling right back into a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Still, it didn't matter. No; this moment was nice and good and wonderful. It didn't matter if either of them were desperate for a renewed friendship.

Calentze smiled at Locke, simply standing in the middle of the library, staff in hand and his arms full of Unicorn. He was content, relaxed since he couldn't remember, even more so than before Prince Jade disappeared and he had been charged with finding him. He sighed softly, letting his lips brush a kiss to the tip of one of Locke's pink ears.

"I missed you aswell" Calentze murmured quietly, holding Locke closer still. He so very badly wanted to kiss him on the lips, and tell him how special he was. But he just couldn't. Instead he buried his head into LOcke's neck, breathing in his bubblegum scent, slowly just losing himself in the moment. "you mean so much to me"

Locke let a small sigh escape his lips as he relaxed even further into Calentze's arms, smiling lightly at the kiss upon his ear. He listened to Calentze speak, merely closing his eyes. "Yes..." He murmured, feeling a light flush grace his cheeks. He wasn't sure why he'd be blushing in the first place. As far as anything went he and Calentze were merely friends. Still, the whole intimacy of the situation was really what struck the Unicorn.

Calentze probably meant a little too much to him, when he thought about it. It was probably bad to have such an attachment to someone you literally hadn't seen in five whole years. Besides that, what Locke still considered mere attraction was stronger than it probably should have been. He pressed lightly into Calentze, feeling the other's breath on his neck as he did so. This whole situation was comfortable after the feeling of hostility had permeated the air just minutes before.

"Locke..." Calentze was burning to say it, he had kept it bottled inside for nearly eight years. It had to be said, or he'd distance himself again. "...Iloveyou" he murmured against his neck, pressing his face more into Locke's neck in an effort to hide his blush. He had said it, now he had to wait for a reply. His hands tightened a grip on Locke's arms, before he gently rubbed them, soothing.

In all the relationship's he had had from when he had last seen Locke, no one meant as much as Locke did. He had gone to others in an effort to cancel out the pain of losing Locke, now he was back and all was well..it would be, depending on Locke's reply.

Locke still had his eyes closed as Calentze spoke once again, after which they flew open. He was tempted to poke at Calentze and question him on what he had just said. And yet... Calentze was obvious waiting for a response. Not only that, but he seemed nervous about it, as well. Odd, when you don't see someone for five whole years and almost immediately after you meet once again they tell you they love you.

Still, it felt... necessary. As if it wouldn't have happened any other way. "I..." He began uncertainly. "Me too." He murmured. He didn't know why, but he couldn't quite say the exact words back. Probably because he'd denied the possibility of love for so long. Still, whether it was love or not, Locke was fairly positive that he felt the same way as Calentze. Still, he was uncertain. What if he'd misheard...?

Calentze let a breath of relief out at Locke's words, a breath he hadn't realised he had been holding in. It felt good to hear that and he lifted his head up so he could look at Locke, a small, geniune smile on his face. He was so glad, so very glad. He nuzzled his nose against Locke's cheek, his arms wrapping around him once again, He didn't knwo what to say, so he just stayed quiet, trying to be as loving through actions as he could.

"i'm glad" he whispered finally, moving his lips to gently brush them over Locke's eyes closed. It had taken eight years, but they were finally here, older, wiser and closer. He moved back a little before he gently lay his lips over Locke#s, happy he could finally kiss him on the lips.

Locke stood still, feeling a contentedness seep into his system. He had said the right thing after all, he supposed. It seemed so strange to confess such things, really, though it would seem that eight years had made them bolder. Perhaps not even that - perhaps it was merely the regret that such words couldn't have been said then. Hesitation had obviously described their romantic relationship in the long run.

Calentze's lips felt petal-soft against his eyelids. Yes, they'd always been soft. And then Locke's first kiss on the lips was taken. A kiss that he'd been saving for now. For Calentze, he supposed. Everything felt strange, though. Unrealistic - or something Locke couldn't quite describe. Like a dream. The type of dream that left one warmed and contented when they woke up, if not a little sad about it - sad that they wanted that and they knew it. Still, dream or not, this had to be the perfect first kiss for the healer. Something he'd expect to keep as a pleasant memory, seeing as he was now rather positive that he loved Calentze back.

((I keep typing Ju's color code XD; wink )

Calentze felt warmed that Locke was returning his kiss and he held the soft contact for a few more moments before he pulled back, nuzzling his face into Locke's soft hair once again. It had been so icy and difficult when they had first met once again and now quite suddenly, it was relaxed and content, just like back in school. Calentze smiled quietly at him and pulled back, brushing a kiss to his cheek.

"I never thought I'd see you on this court, I always though you'd go and work for the Unseelie's or something like that" he said finally, chuckling. "not that this court is bad, it's very good..if a bit crazy at times"
