Neve had expected Marius to move further away, so when he stepped that little bit closer she smiled inwardly once more. 'You'd have fled in point of fact, my mother can be..difficult.'
It was the simplest way to put it, she wasnt about to go into her mother's mental problems with a perfect stranger, despite him looking as he did. 'From my father..' Different expressions passed over her face. She loved him, and would respect him to a point. That point was his treatment of her mother. 'You could say that,' she finished eventually, distant suddenly. 'My father..' she gave a small, humourless laugh. 'Could charm the birds from the trees. He lives in the moment of seduction, the thrill of the chase of a fine mare.'

Her distant tone caused his mask to fall, and his brows furrowed as she spoke. She had some love for her father evidently, but from the sounds of it.. He was off elsewhere with another, wasn't he? It was a scenario he could not relate to entirely. He had a strained relationship with his father, but he would never use such a distant tone when speaking of him. He walked a bit closer so that in a way he was circling her, but topped when he was in front of her instead of talking to her back practically.
"Quite a difficult arrangement of parents I would guess?" He rose a brow, watching her face for reactions. He would stop prying if she expressed some annoyance or an unpleasant feeling. "And how do you live, Neve?" He inquired, thoroughly curious about her answer.

Neve was still, almost breathlessly so as Marius circled and then stopped directly before her. Hooked.. a soft inner voice said and she gently flicked an ear, looking directly into eyes that only now she realised were of two different colours. 'My mother loved my father, with a passion that only those with little sanity can muster.' her pale eyes searched his. How long had she held on to all that she had to say? Her brothers had long since gone their own ways, and she was left with Izusa, a mare that held onto her insanity because it was her own and had not abandoned her. 'She would fly into violent rages when she found him with another mare, and then fall into wells of depression. And through all this, I was her daughter. I was her rock and my own foundations are unstable because of youth.' Too much. She had given of herself to much, but talking - it helped. 'How do I live?' she echoed his question, looking away before her gaze returned to him. 'Without an anchor, I drift, I am - mercurial.' and she shut her mouth firmly, withdrawing, suddenly taken aback with how much she had run on about such personal matters.

He was shocked how much she spoke about her family, her mother. He reasoned taht she probably did not have many to speak to about it, or she never was interested in talking about it. But why would she say all this to him then? Confusing mare... He watched her cautiously, keeping his eyes locked on hers as she spoke. Her eyes were pale, the lightest he had ever seen. They were almost a tad creepy, but he refused to look away. She had a dramatic life, Neve. A loose father and an obsessive mother.
He could not relate at all.
He nodded softly, acknowledging that he was listening. He watched as she set her jaw firm, as if he hd hit a chord. He sighed audibly, and tossed his mane as to let it rest on his other shoulder.
"Quite a life you lived. But it has prepared you for the different kinds of stallions and mares out there, no? Some of us only meet the cheery kind. You've seen ad lived through a different side of the rainbow," he said, tilting his head as he spoke. He was almost frustrated with her and how she kept switching from seducing to unsure. Mares... Such a fickle gender. He offered a small smile, promising himself that he would -not- be seduced, though he would liek to keep her talking.
"It's okay to talk, you know. I'm pretty sure you see I'm not leaving any time soon, unless you ask of it." He hinted, craning hishead forward to get a better look at her face.

Neve had gone back just one step; her head held a little high, unsure not of the situation but about what exactly had caused such an outpouring. Maybe she could use him, a sounding board, a beautiful shoulder to cry on - and to discard again when she'd done with him. Her temper rose its head, fury directed at herself for base thoughts. That was what Guilian did after all. 'I don't think I lived..' her voice sounded suddenly, as she decided to open her mouth again. 'I existed, day by day. And I know about the evils that can be found within. I know of life and laughter as well. But I dont think I've had much of that. Not once I was old enough to understand the situation between my parents.' Neve looked at Marius - his face closer to hers now. She could lean out and..no! She would never, her mother's craving for that would never be her own. She wanted companionship, not bloody murder. 'I have talked..you should do the same.' she shaped the words, speaking so softly.

He watched her face, studying it for any sign of one side taking over another. He wondered if he had provoked the Kalona within the girl, and he was curious about what made it come out. But then she spoke in a calmer voice, not a harsh one. He took a step back as to allow her room, as perhaps his presence was too overbearing. He flicked his tail and glanced towards the sky as he thought. The sun had disappeared behind some clouds. "It's never to late to live," he started, looking back down at the mare spectatively, "Your life shouldn't be dictated by what happened between your parents. I think you know that, whether or not you want to admit it," he calmly said, flicking his tail.
He chuckled slightly at her soft words, trying to lighten the situation, "Well, I have been speaking if you did not notice, miss," he said lightly, glancing over his shoulder at the lake, "What can I say? My parents are good companions. They were friends, and upon a promise made by my father they eventually fell in love, or so they say. Their need for companionship put them together. I don't know what's stronger, they're friendship or their so called love," he said, studying the ground momentarily and then her face. "It's not as a thrilling of a story as your own, I know. But hey," he stood tall, "It's not like everyone's life can be a fairytale or a soap opera."

'Talk as I have just done, without boundaries.' Neve noted that he had withdrawn; for the moment it was probably a good thing. He called to her, his scent intoxicating and not merely for being that of a stallion. 'Maybe if I was as heartless as my mother can be then I would have cut ties completely. But I can't. I want a life but my family keeps seeking me out.'
Neve listened, a frown upon her face, brow wrinkling. Was that how it could be for others? Maybe her cravings wouldn't be so much if her family had been more stable. 'What makes you class it as 'so-called love?' Neve questioned. Did he understand what it was at all? Her mother had described at as something akin to a state of intoxication, but then she did so like to over-dramatise everything.

He could sympathize about the family. It was hard to stay with his mother and make sure she was well and live a life of his own, so he had chosen the latter. "Nobody said you had to cut ties completely. Or is that what you think?" He inquired, settling himself down on the ground, looking up at the mare. Standing was geting a bit tiring. It seemed like he would be here for a while (not that he minded much), so why not relax a bit? He was still on guard however...
At her tone and face, Marius was taken back. Had he offended her. Even though the thought horrfied him, he found himself laughing. "Oh, that's what irritates you? Well," he sighed dramatically, watching her face for eactions. She made the funniest faces! He inclined his head forward as he spoke, a hint of playfulness adorning his tone, along with one of a airy thoughtfulness... And perhaps a hint of sarcasm, "My parents are both very young, you see. When they had my siblings and I, I am sure they were a little older, if not less, than I am now. Do you really think something so 'powerful' as others say could hit two friends so suddenly?" He asked, raising his brows inquisitively, "Love is a mere game amongst many. I am merely not a player. So perhaps I see things through clouded eyes," his words came wistfully, his eyes squinting almost with humor.

'It would take something drastic for my mother to want to 'cut the cord.' Neve rolled her eyes, scraping at the ground with a hoof. Her wings rustled, she was getting irritated merely thinking about what an chain around her neck the relationship she had with her mother was.
She watched as Marius made himself comfortable on the ground - which given that he had just met her was foolish move she thought. 'No I think that if you have no experience of something then judging it makes you narrow minded.' she said in a spiky tone of voice. If he came close to uttering anything more that sounded like her father's point of view then would have to go..attacking a perfect stranger in a fit of temper; it was a distinct possibility. 'You have no idea how painful it is to know that your existence is a constant reminder to one parent that they were weak.' she said through a taut mouth, stalking to away to the lake and looking into the distance, across the water.

Marius often disliked it when others diagreed with him and insulted him along with it. His brows rose, a playful smile still tugging his lips as he examined her posture and face. 'So she's a hopeless romantic it seems. Ehem.' He thought, cocking his head to one side as he openly surveyed her. He locked his own bi-colored eyes on hers and his smile grew into a light smirk, "A little quick to accuse you are. It's not be close-minded. It's more along the lines of I'm really not interested. If one isn't interested in something, they needn't experience it. Say you don't like how spiders look, so you don't like them. Quick to jduge, no? Same situation." He chuckled, pulling his head back to get a better look at her.
If she made any motion to attac him, he would quickly roll out of the way or take it head on. She didn't seem the type to so quickly attack him for his words. She would be contradicting herself if she judged him!
But she had turned to stare across the lake. His brows furrowed together and his humor-lit face changed to that of a curious one, perhaps a bit guilty. He did not have any idea, and so... He had a feeling he must have said something to upset her? Something probably reminiscent of the parent she wasn't close to. He sighed to himself and turned towards her, beginning to stand on his hooves once more, "And you keep looking at things from such a negative point of view. Your parent was not weak, just simply clouded by 'love'," he took a few steps around, keeping a comfortable distance betwen them, "I wouldn't call that being weak."
But he didn't know what to call it.
'Mares', he inwardly groaned.

Neve slapped her wings against her sides and give a short neighing laugh, momentarily jolted from her bitter musings. 'Love is a life experience! That's why you are close-minded. It cannot compare to not wanting to see something crawly because you dont like the look of it.' She shut her eyes and shook her head. 'I've seen the pain it brings and I still know that my life would come up short if I did not experience at some point.' She snorted, now he was contradicting himself. 'Stand up for it, or put it down..choose a stance would you, because right now you make no sense.' She kicked at the ground, making an indent in the ground in her irritation. It seemed like he wanted to live in a little bubble, never knowing anything that could cause him discomfort. 'Enough of this,' she decided out loud. 'You want to be in this world and not live then fine. We can find something else for you to experience. You can meet my mother.' She smiled then, showing her pointed fangs again.

It was odd for Marius to contradict and disagree with another, especially a mare. He had thought it was best to make them happy by agreeing, nodding, and if he didn't agree he would give his two cents and flash a smile. But this was different. At her words the stallion rolled his eyes but politely 'tsked', his smile teasing. This amre was so oblivious in her world of "love". He began to stand up slowly, pulling his legs out from under him. His eyes never left hers, his brows pulled together as he spoke, "A life experience? What about those who are constanty getting with others? The mares pregnant with foals of different sires... What kind of love is that? A sad one indeed," he snorted, oblivious to something called "lust".
For surely, when it came to emotional things Marius hid himself away. He could fight a Kalona if he needed to, but when it came to showing real emotion and understanding it... He was as lost as can be. Marius's stance was a confusing one; Love is a silly emotion to clam companionship on another. Some get too into it, and really should back out. Despite thinking those who are head-over-heels in "love" are not thinking, he sympathizes and always hopes for the best.
Quite a flitty opinion.
As he stood, he barely recognized her words. They slowly registered in his head, and he immediatly lookd up from the ground, his eyes hard and guarded. Her mother...? He inwardly grimaced at her teeth, and he pushed away from his spot and began to walk around the mare, his head held high as he looked down at her. Was she joking? Wasn't that what lovers do when they wanted their family to meet their significant other?
No, she wasn' doing that. She was trying to instill some kind of fear in him, right? He laughed softly, his stare softening, his tone hard put edging on his usual politeness, "Your mother? There is no reason for that. I am alive and I live my life the way I choose to. If it doesn't include a silly "life-experince", I am still living." He stopped a foot from her, raising his brows.
"But if the miss insists..." He said a few moments later. She wouldn't really make him meet her mother, right? A Kalona who was a bit nutty in the head? Hmmm...

Neve carried on smirking to herself as she watched Marius; it was almost as if she could see the various thoughts and read the emotions he was experiencing. Amusement and superiority, trepidation, confusion and she could almost smell a little fear.
'Silly boy..' she tutted, slapping her wings against her side again. 'Silly little stallion. I see you that are afraid. I suppose in a way it is good to see that, you aren't so completely closed to everything. Stay here. Tremble by the lake until you convince yourself that this is yet another thing that you don't need to experience because you know it all.'
She kicked the ground with a front hoof and then wandered slowly away, her rump swaying as she laughed to herself.

(Is this the end of this rp, after my post?)
Marius inwardly frowned at her smirk, strongly disliking how she could practically see past his shell. His brows furrowed as she spoke, watching her impassively as she turned around, moving her silly wings. Her words caused his lips to slightly turn downward, though the look on his face had become his usual mask once more. Stupid mare, thinking that he was scared of all things... Stupid mare...
He grimaced at the thought, knowing well that those were not apprpriate thoughts. However, it was rare one could make him act so differently, and though intrigued by her (and her mother), it annoyed him to no end that she held such an ability. With a toss of his mane he did not find himself able to speak (as nothing came to mind), he turned backtowards the lake and looked back down at his reflection.
