Oh, okay. <_<
I thought it was really stupid to bring the Master in on Last of the Time Lords with "It's ready to rise, Doctor."

My mom says that she suspects that the people doing the editing figured that most of America wouldn't get the humor. Bare in mind, not many people get British humor.

Like tennantsbutterfly mentioned, this episode ran long (51.5 minutes). A typical episode of Doctor Who is 45 minutes. For an hour-long time slot in the U.S., you usually get 42 minutes of programming and 18 minutes of commercials.
SciFi could have handled this two ways: 1) trim off just under 10 minutes to get the show to fit the slot, or 2) extend the show to fit a 90 minute slot (and padding the rest of time with commercials).
Apparently Dr. Who's ratings weren't good enough to justify the latter.

Well, Dr. Who was unable to get the ratings in America back in 1996 to get a American setting of Dr. Who going.

Thank God for the Virgian store that sells Doctor Who when it comes out in England, Sci-Fi has broken my heart how could they disrespect the Doctor like that.

Yeah, it's not fair, they do it on BBC America as well, in The Christmas Invasion the "rude and not ginger" part was taken out, as well as the song for ten.
